No one should live like that. Chris and his crew stepped in and cleared out all rooms, taking many items for donation and other items to be trashed. They cleared out his kitchen which had so many canned/boxed food items that were expired. Chris even moved items so they weren't a tripping hazard, he pointed out fire hazards too. He did all of this with compassion and understanding, even recommending a company to help with ongoing cleaning/care to avoid my relative's place returning to its unlivable state. As we were surprised on her reports, we have consulted with another certified Veterans Affairs appraiser and was informed that the appraiser, Maria C. Garland has made huge mistakes on appraising the property. Ms. Garland used a different county/district for comparable homes. The total square footage of the house she used is incorrect, including incorrect number of room counts, a number of garages, and the school district. Furthermore, one of the houses she used is listed as a short sale. She didn't go inside the house and just did a drive by. How can someone make an appraisal based on a drive by and charge the Department of Veterans Affairs $525? DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS needs to see this. Why are you using these kind of service to supposedly help the service members and veterans? In addition, I am contacting the Department of Veterans Affairs against Maria C. Garland. The service she performed is inadequate and very disappointing. She not only caused me and my family time, money, and huge stress. We recently came back from being stationed overseas and currently living in temporary lodging. Due to the pandemic, I am teleworking and my son is using online school. Unfortunately, it has been almost impossible and uncomfortable to do our daily work and school schedule being confines in a cramped space. And go figure, the appraisal came in exactly at my offer price... That is just bad business and I can't imagine one would stay in business for the long term operating like this.
