The service that she and her knowledgeable staff provides is excellent and shouldn't be taken for granted. Expert experience matters. A recent tragic event involving a neighbor underlines that saying, "you get what you pay for". Just because you've been driving for years or own a car, doesn't mean you've acquired any meaningful knowledge of insurance coverages. Not all auto insurance policies are the same. Nor, is the level of service you'll receive when you need it most (after filing a claim). They're like comparing apples to oranges. He didn't understand what COMP, COLL, Med Pay, LoU (Rental Covg.), UMBI, UMPD were for or the dangers of buying "minimal State liability limits" (15/30/5). What are 1st party coverages vs. 3rd party coverages? Do "deductibles" apply to liability coverages? He didn't have the benefit of a licensed, experienced insurance agent counseling him. He tried to figure things out on his own and/or relied on unreliable advice. He bought insurance online. From hindsight, he recognizes he made a Big Mistake. Ever hear someone use this "buzz word", saying they've got "Full Coverage"? Well, that's someone who doesn't know what they're talking about. There's no such thing as "full coverage". Ask your "so called expert" what does that mean? They sell insurance for many things, but not everything. Plus, there are "exclusions" written in every insurance policy. (You know, that contract your expert never bothered to read, cover to cover.) Like most people, he shopped for insurance based on "price". He didn't realize that criteria alone was not enough. Buying the "cheapest" is like getting an umbrella made out of paper, which offers little protection when you need it. So now, he's a got a useless, totaled vehicle sitting on his driveway (had no COLL); has no temporary substitute vehicle, aka "rental car" to get to work (since his LoU coverage applies only to COMP, and doesn't apply to his solo vehicle collision); had no Med Pay to help pay for medical expenses (ambulance, emergency hospitalization, and recovery treatment) for himself and his passenger; and he'll probably get sued by his "negligent-free passenger". A belated "wake-up call" resulted from this auto accident. The current, average cost of a new vehicle is about $47k to replace and/or the cost to repair minimal property damage to another person's vehicle (plus, the additional expense of a similar rental vehicle, while it's in the body shop) can be thousands of dollars. Imagine if you're liable for a multi-vehicle collision. Having only $5k of Liability coverage for Property Damage is grossly inadequate. Learn from other people's mistake and not your own! Buy insurance from a reputable insurance agent.

State Farm claims dept didn't get to my place until 5 days. They claimed they will have reports ready for fo on Friday but no. Weekend came and weekend went and nothing. I am left out on the street with my kids. 1st grader without basic humans needs. I contacted them 3 separate people as so " I need to move out I can't live here " they're respond " sorry we're still determining what's going on". Seriously. Isn't insurance there to ensure my safety ? Why am I paying for it not during emergencies for them to step up and give me a helping hand. I'm so disappointed at this time with the whole process for the condo claim that I'm speechless. I can go into details how discriminatory some of the employees were with me but I'm not going at this time. However I do want to mention that supervisor J was and is very good to me with updates and answering my questions. Regardless. with all insurance I pay for last 35+ years I would think I would have been able to at least be able to stay in a hotel for time being until things got figured out. We have a mixture of residence, rental properties and a bunch of vehicles, including motorcycles, and getting coverage for properties that have these accelerating values in today's So. Calif. economy is crucial (particularly to our many mortgage and line of credit holders, who always remind you to keep up with the replacement costs for these places...and then keep reminding you... and then if you don't, will start procuring gap insurance to cover the increases in value...sigh.) We worked with one of her assistants, Estella, on getting all the various values, sizes, property descriptions, dates, times, account numbers assembled, and Estella is simply incredible at keeping all the facts and figures straight, as well as figuring out what was needed, missing, and where it all goes. Then once we had the whole financial picture built, Patricia explained what different options were available to not only get adequate (or superlative) coverage, but also presented options to fit our tight budgets for the rental properties. I remember working with State Farm on my previous house, and it was always a great experience. Having Patricia as our local representative and friend/partner/neighbor is above and beyond what I thought insurance was about. Not a single sales pitch or random quote was received (which we found annoying by other companies whose agents are often SPIF'd based upon number of outgoing quotes issued per month - not by number of actual policies sold.) On top of everything else, she took care of every outstanding detail from all our lenders to ensure everything got back on-track and in the end, ended up saving us about 10% less premium than our previous pile of undervalued policies, and had complete coverage to boot. We received service that deserves stars, awards or whatever other recognition is available because top performers like Patricia and her team are what all businesses should really strive to achieve. We'd all be happy campers if they were like this little gem of a business.
