Personally, I've had quite a few problems with this company. My autistic son needs to be picked up every morning, and this company is always late, sometimes hours late, always with an excuse. They change drivers almost every week. After waiting many times, they call saying they won't be able to pick him up. Imagine, my son doesn't understand that. He's all ready to go, and then having to take him back home makes him angry and even lash out. It's all because of these people's irresponsibility. They never know anything, not even who answers the phone or the driver. It seems like a company where everyone does whatever they want, with no direction. It's a disaster. I'm trying to get the insurance company to send another one. This one is a disaster; they have no direction, no kindness, absolutely nothing. They don't understand that we're dealing with people with special needs and varying levels of behavior. read more

Terrible, aggressive and dangerous driving on the part of nearly every van driver I've seen

Today I was almost hit by one of First Call's drivers speeding around a corner on a residential side street. The street is marked everywhere with "slow children at play" and is off a main road. I yelled at him after he almost hit me and slammed on his breaks to tell him to "slow down and why are you driving like that." He then proceeded to put his car in reverse and roll down his window in a clearly intimidating way to say "how did you say I was driving" I told him "like an asshole children live here." Then he said "ok mam" in a condescending way, probably because he was being recorded. I felt very unsafe and would not want a person like this representing my company. read more

I worked for First Call Transportation for 4years. I had a medical emergency and I couldn't do my afternoon route. So basically I couldn't do my job a 100% anymore. The driver was angry that I didn't let him go in front of me, so he decided to drive up to me and call me an asshole. He has road rage how can he work with the public. I called to speak with his supervisor and no one called me back. I plan on calling back in two days this driver does not need to be driving people around for a living. These people are the worst. They pick up a couple of people in my neighborhood every day. Instead of calling when they pull up or going to the door and knocking, like they should...they just lay on the horn. It's obnoxious and rude. I've called their office and even asked the driver to please use their cell phone when they stop instead of the horn. They continue to disrespectfully pick up and drop off the people here. Wow so I'm not alone in experiencing First Call driver road rage. Just had one of their drivers tailgate me dangerously close and lay on the horn because I was driving cautiously in a hurricane-remnants rainstorm on a narrow road. Really unsafe drivers. In Waltham on Lake St this morning, one of their van drivers pulled a left hand turn out of a side street right in front of me, blocking the street while waiting for a gap in traffic going the other way. The roads were wet and this could have caused a serious accident. The driver tossed up his hands as if I should have been able to stop further away from his van. There are a lot of families in that neighborhood. First Call really needs to hire drivers that are willing and able to follow traffic laws and keep both their passengers and others on the road safe. read more

First Call is apparently a transportation and ambulance company. If the latter is true, then they are definitely trying to drum up business, because everytime I see one of their white vans driving down the road I KNOW there will be a major arsehole behind the wheel. They are constantly making illegal turns on Soldier's Field Rd, riding on other car's tails, and barely missing hitting pedestrians. I don't have a chance to know if, when doing these things, they tend to have passengers or are empty, but their name is on the van, so they are already giving themselves awful advertising. read more

I'm the president of First Call Trucking & Courier - we have no affiliation with First Call Transportation; they transport people, we transport cargo. Unfortunately, I'm sorry to say that we get a lot of complaint calls about their drivers, enough so that I wanted to take proactive damage control measures because I feel their drivers are giving us a bad name. I think they should put their phone number on their vans so that when angry motorists call information for their number, they don't continually get passed along to us. read more

First call transportation is the worst call transportation. My son is 2 years old and has a lot of medical equipment we carry with us to our early intervention groups (oxygen, suction machine, feeding pump, etc.). I have been dealing with their ignorant Haitian driver (Yves) and another ignorant Haitian dispatcher that won't give his name or his supervisor's name for month's now. This idiotic dispatcher hung up the phone on me 3+ time after I called to inform them that their driver was being disrespectful to me, my son and my son's nurse with his language because he didn't want to put my son's stroller on the van or open the back to let me put it in. These people lack the common sense to know that they are in a service industry and without customer's to serve they have to seek employment elsewhere. I am your customer who deserves some form of decency. To be left on hold for over 20 minutes by two different staff member never to return to the phone to resolve my issue is unacceptable behavior for a business of your stature. The driver proceeded to toss my son's stroller out of the van and said someone else is coming. LIE!!! LIE!!! LIE!!! No one came to take my son to his early intervention programs. When I asked the dispatcher for his supervisor he refused to give me any information. I called back repeatedly until he forwarded me to a random voicemail. I would encourage you to look elsewhere for a reliable transportation company. We have had issues multiple times with this transportation service. Our individual was left behind twice with no explanation. When called regarding the last instance their employee, Joseph, was extremely disrespectful for a situation that could be solved with better communication from their drivers and their main office. I would definitely give 0 stars. Lord only knows how they even stay in business. Poor management and poor communication. read more

I just had a bad experience with one of these drivers, who was tailgating me so badly I pulled over and made him go around me. I was driving the speed limit on a wet, leaf-strewn residential street. I swear this guy was inches from the back of my car. Really dangerous. If they're a car service, that's terrible advertising. Stay away. read more
