Willie was very efficient and fair in the items I sold them. I'm talking about the service. The general selection there was good too!

They aren't interested in helping anyone, but rather insult you. I've never recieved such disrespect from a so called place of "business."

When wait times at Rolex Authorized Dealer (AD) have become more a minimum prison sentence of 3-5…read moreyears wait time, it becomes extremely tempting to seek other means for the purchase of your dream watch. Areas such as the gray market and used/ pre-owned resellers are becoming tempting. But keep in mind there are "more fakes than authentic Rolexs on the market" and currently on the wrists of the super successful in society. An issue that Rolex themselves don't seem to mind!  The Diamond Exchange, a business that claims over 30 years in the industry the price becomes extremely tempting. Best of all is the selection of "Rolex" products on hand: they have various models, years, and designs and at a mere 30-35% above the AD's new MSRP! As ridiculous as that sounds, it can ve extremely tempting when considering the current gray market prices. When entering a business that is asking only 30% MSRP, it easily becomes a viable option (30% is actually on the low end currently). While making my purchase, the seller informed me that Rolex does not keep time very well. This statement should have set off red flags, but unfortunately, it did not at the time. I purchased an extremely well-made Rolex Submariner that was only a couple of years old and still was under warranty according to the certified card included. I was filled with joy. However, that ended when the watch was losing over 20 seconds s a day. I simply dropped the watch off at an authorized dealer for repair in Tysons. I was quoted a jaw-dropping 12-16 week turnaround for the repair. As discouraging as it was to spend thousands of dollars and need repair within a week of purchase, I wanted the quality that I invested in, so off it went. Feeling confident, I left with an empty wrist and voucher. Several weeks later, I received a call from the dealer informing me that my watch was ready for pickup. However, nothing was done as a result of the watch not being authentic. The Rolex Submariner watch. I was sold a FAKE ROLEX! When I inquired what the issue was, the dealer informed me I would need to contact Rolex directly to find out the details. At this point, thousands of dollars were dumped down the drain! My dream watch scenario was quickly morphing into a nightmare situation. Disappointment and shock would be an understatement of the decade! It was equally interesting that the authorized dealer that I brought the watch to wasn't able to tell the item was unauthentic initially. To be exact- a congratulations on my purchase was originally offered only amplifying the sting further. Rolex informed me that the watch was fake and that the Serial Number did not exist in their records. The certified card had all matching information and appropriate markings needed; details discovered during my research. After conducting hours of research and feeling confident about the sellers reputation, I made my purchase, only to be bamboozled in the end. I had become a victim of fraud! A 10-15 year prison sentence at stake I went to return the fake I purchased weeks before. When I entered, the seller claimed not to remember me or the original transaction - more salt I'm the wound. I demanded my money back as I recalled the details of my experience. The owner casually stated, "Of course I'll return the money for your purchase," as he feined shock that the item was fake. In the end, I was sold an extrenely well made high-end clone (1:1 available online). He further explained that he received the watch on trade by a trusted return customer that he would need to "have a talk with." My overall experience was absolutely traumatizing. The transaction was horrible and I would not recommend conducting business with the Diamond Exchange when purchasing a Rolex line product unless of course you are willing to spin the wheel and become another mark to pad the pockets of shady business practices. Simply having a store front does not make you reputable. It is integrity and business practices those of which are clearly lacking at the Diamond Exchange.

I noticed this because the price she was trying to base it off had "read caption" in bold letters. I point this out and told her to go to the description but she kept trying to slide past it very quickly, and then on top of that quickly changed the picture of what she was originally looking at to something different in order to make it seem like I did not know what I was talking about. Upon trying to point out those discrepancies, the girl at the front desk kept getting an attitude and being extremely disrespectful. While I was packing up my things I told her my point of view and she gave me a lot of attitude and a nasty tone and said " well you don't have to sell anything" as she watched me pack up my bags to go! Mind you I tried to keep it very respectful because I don't know how crazy other people maybe. I would not advise wasting your time going to this place because the people there are just not worth the stress. Plus the value they tried to give you for your equipment is little to nothing.

Customer service was horrendous. Based on that I do not recommended and will not be back.read more

I had some scrap laying around and was deciding where to sell. After seeing the many positive reviews on google and yelp, I decided to go here. The owner Steven only takes appointments so I called him and schedule a meeting for the next day. His office is located in a business type building on the 7th floor, once you get off the elevator take a left through the door and his office is on the left side. After presenting the items he uses his machine to determine if it real or fake gold and how many carat it is. After a quick and efficient process I got my money and it took only about 15 minutes overall. After the transaction was finish Steven was nice enough to give me a box of chocolate which was gold in color to represent " gold" funny enough xD. All in all, I would highly recommend if anyone is looking to selling any gold or silver jewelry/ items to give STX a chance.

The owner of the store (named Mark, afaik) quoted me a decent rate but stated that a recent drop in prices would probably be rectified (prices would go back up) shortly. So I waited a day or two and sure enough, Gold popped, I refreshed my quote with Mark, drove out there - wasn't allowed in but he had proxies handle it, (a nephew passed info to his wife/daughter? and she actually took the gold and brought a check). I got no closer than the porch. Made sense though it did feel a bit odd. The owner of this company is a shrewd, older man; straightforward and to the point. On my fifth phone call to him he warmed up to tempid. I'm okay with that. I'm interested in business, not warm fuzzies. He told me some general market things that were extremely helpful and informative. Mark didn't have to recommend I wait, he ended up paying more because of it... but it was the honest thing to do. While I stood on the porch, he paid me what he quoted me. That was that. Other than Google maps blowing a gasket on finding the place (it directs you all over hell and yon, basically you could come in on a main road and make two turns and be there - some railroad bridges and god knows what else results in Google Maps losing a screw) everything went smoothly. Gaithersburg Coin Exchange is not perfect, but they are good. Per what other people have mentioned - I imagine that if you bring a bad attitude you will leave with a worse one and nothing changed in your pockets. I remember…read morereading things like, "they won't take advantage of you", "they are reasonable", "will work with you". I went here with some electronics that I had received as gifts but never used before so I thought let's see if we can make a deal rather than have it sitting in my garage collecting dust. I walk into the shop and notice they have a police officer on duty, though he is more focused on his phone than observing the store. After a couple minutes of standing there with my items a man with a goatee (who I assume is the owner of the shop, or manager) approaches me and without even greeting me just looks at my stuff and says, "I'm interested in these two, but not this." then takes the boxes to the counter and he walks to his computer in the backroom. Ok, so I follow him and wait for him to come back out of the backroom while he's googling my items in order to make a proposal. He comes out from the back and says,"I'll offer you $10 for those. I have a bunch of stuff like this and people want things cheap around here." LOL...I respond by saying, "you don't have anything like this in here, $10 really?" Where he then responds with, "People want things cheap around here." He was serious, and not open to negotiating. I pick up my stuff and walk out. The total retail price for the items I brought in were over $200. I understand the guy's motivation for wanting to make a profit, but to downright lowball me and not even consider negotiating was just insulting. I suppose I'm too idealistic to think people can be honest and fair with you in a transaction like this. It was a definite mistake and a waste of time to drive to this place rather than doing what most folks do which is sell it on eBay, Amazon, Craigslist, and Wallapop. Unless you're extremely desperate for a couple dollars, and do not have time to sell your items through the online merchandisers, and even after asking your network if they're interested in purchasing your items, and only if your life is on the line then go to this place. But I warn you, this place preys on the weak and despondent. You will be treated disrespectfully, and lowballed for sure.
