I've been looking for a nice gold watch for some time now. I usually buy my watches from Nordstrom or Nordstrom rack. Idk why, but I've always pictured Jewelry stores as being overpriced. So I was shocked when I entered Silver Spring Jewelry. Not only by the prices, but also the selection and how friendly Ramon and his staff were. Big intimidating guy, in a full suit, selling diamonds, in a store that requires you to get buzzed in, you would expect something like Adam Sandler in Uncut Gems, but nope. Ramon was warm and affable. Really enjoyed talking with him and saw first hand what makes this store such a success. This store had a constant stream of customers coming in and out and I was a bit surprised. For such a small shop, how is it so busy in the middle of the day. Then I sat and observed. A man came in for a new watch battery. Walked out 10 minutes later and was only charged $5. A woman sold her old jewelry for a few hundred bucks, which was shocking as well because it seemed very reasonable. I was expecting a low ball offer which never came. Another repaired her bracelet for $10. A few people came in just to ask Ramon a couple of questions, which he seemed more than happy to the take time to answer. Then it hit me, these are all people who have been here before and really trust Ramon. Rarely do you find a place where the owner greets you at the door and stays with you as long as you need, even if they know you don't intend to buy anything. Ramon and his staff just love what they do and it draws people in. Ramon, you have my business forever my friend. TL;DR Not all jewelry stores are cash grabs. This one is definitely a staple of the community. Ramon and his team are all amazing and truly seem to care about everyone that walks through his door. Super friendly, knowledgeable, and most importantly honest. Anyways, check out this beautiful watch I just bought.

I met with Ramon and his staff to see if the hand carved wood love spoon could I made for my wife for our 47th wedding anniversary could be engraved. Ramon embraced the challenge and tried several things to make it happen. He finally took the spoon to his other store and one of his employees who is a very talented artist made it happen. Ramon also made it happen in a very short period of time. The piece turned out great and my wife was very happy. I highly recommend Silver Spring Jewelry to anyone who values excellence in craftsmanship and unsurpassed customer service. They also resized my wedding ring and polished both my wife's ring and mine. Everything was done for very fair and reasonable fees.

Incredible service! Ramon was super helpful and responsive to my inquiry. My broken gold chain was fixed right on the spot as I waited, so I didn't have to part from my sentimental pendant. I even ended up buying a pair of fun hexagon gold hoops for myself and lovely gold hops to surprise my 9-year old. I couldn't resist the selection!

I took 3 watches to them that I purchased that needed batter I couldn't get the backs off to change them. They changed all 3 for $5 each.

Told me it was $15 then wanted to charge $25 so, I bought a 1.2mm screwdriver and a $6 button battery and did it myself.

I need engraving on a hand carved wood art piece. Can Silver Spring Jewelry do that?

I seriously doubt it, this is more high end jewelry store not a Things Remembered.

It had recently stopped working and after a quick on-line search, we selected Maryland Clock and Watch Repair. Nick came to our home the very next day and repaired and cleaned our clock in under an hour. Nick is well versed in not only clock repair, but the history of clocks and their makers. In fact, he informed us that our clock was a Gustav Becker...a first heard for us! Nick will now be our "clock guy.". Thank you, Nick, for your professional and friendly service.

Its quite special to me. MC&W had my clock movement for about 10 months. I knew up front that it would take some time. Now back in my possession since Dec 22, 2020, how can this movement still have issues? The moon phase still does not work. I was assured it would after the overhaul. The chimes sound terrible due the hammers and tubes being out of alignment. I will say, it does maintain excellent time which is great, but that is 1/3 of the mechanical function of this clock, and to me 1/3 of the amount I had paid. Also, I did not get pictures sent to me during the overhaul process that I had been promised. When I brought this up I was then told I would get a comprehensive package including pictures with the return of the clock movement. Well, I received an invoice, "warranty" information and clock setting instructions. I haven't any proof that my movement was disassembled and overhauled. No pictures, no detailed information of what exactly what was replaced, cleaned or adjusted for $3200. I have been told more than once I will get a call and an appointment will be made to come out and look at my clock. To this day 4/04/21, no follow up appointment has been made to correct my clock issues. At this point, I have lost all faith in Maryland Clock & Watch. I will go elsewhere for the remaining repairs. I no longer feel as though they are a competent repair shop. FYI - Below is a more detailed description of the issues The moon phase dial will not move. I was assured this would be working. It should rotate to indicate when there will be a full moon. Strings - It doesn't make sense to me why the strings that pull the hammers and the strings that hang the tubes were replaced at my house and not at the shop? Obviously the movement was not tested properly before hand. Well over an hour was spent installing the strings for the hammers and the tubes at my house. Not all five strings, but four of the five strings were replaced by MC&W at my house. I still have one old original string that still remains, three of the new strings installed were provided by MC&W, and the fourth new string also installed by MC&W was "sewing thread"! Yes that's right, my "sewing thread". I was wondering why I was ask for string or thread? This is certainly not correct. The tone and volume of the chimes is not correct, one in particular is hard to hear the striking of the tube. After my inspection I see the hammers are not in proper alignment. Some hammers are resting against tubes, they should not do that. Also some of the hammers strike the sides of tubes and the top edges of the tubes, and again they should not do that. The tubes also are not in alignment to each other which compounds the problem. The tubes do not hang from the hooks at equal lengths. All off this should have already been done, inspected and tested. This is what makes me think that MC&W had someone else service the movement. Who really did the work I wonder? Lastly, any clock that operates with pendulum must be balanced. It is necessary so the clock is "in beat". My clock was never balanced. It was moved into the corner and left that way. It was gaining one minute a day. For weeks I was trying to adjust the speed of an unbalanced clock. I did end up balancing the clock, and now it keeps excellent time. I don't believe there is a clock or watchmaker on the premises at this time. I should have done a better job of seeking out a trained clock maker.
