I read the reviews on Yelp and I thought it was a safe bet. Reading Tim D's review now from 3/11/24, it sounds the same. I arranged for them to diagnose a possible broken connection. The tech they sent spent an hour looking around, trying to find the problem. He said he couldn't solve it but we still got charged $411. He said he would have to send someone else. Any estimate for the job? No - he couldn't even make an estimate. When I called Adam, he said they would send a more experienced tech. Why not send someone qualified the first time? What about the charge for showing up and not doing anything? "That's our normal fee?" So, will we be charged for a new estimate? "It's still $250 to show up." Really? I told him we didn't want them anymore and we would like at least a partial refund. He agreed to a refund of $125, but the refund didn't come. I called again and he said they had a miscommunication. Now it would be sent. Still no refund ... We found a new person, a handyman - he said it was challenging, but he found the broken connection and he only charged us $250. Mirsky? I'm late writing this review, this was done in 2020. I was reminded since I was looking at electricians again and this listing came up. It goes without saying that I won't be considering Mirsky for this next job I'm scoping. I had Mirsky come out to diagnose a problem with power having gone out in two rooms. There was a short in the attic where the junction was at a light in the hallway. The issue was fluctuating and had rectified itself temporarily by the time they sent someone. The technician went into the attic, and looked around, but didn't find anything. They then recommended installing a dual function breaker to protect the circuit. They charged me $357.83 for that service. $250 to show up and for the first hour, $75 for the part, taxes, etc. (There's contention on whether that's So when the problem re-asserted itself I had to call Seatown and they came and not only found, but fixed the issue in short order. To say I wasn't thrilled at having to wait for another electrician to come and fix the issue and to wait for that to happen is a bit of an understatement. read more

We found Mirsky nearly 3 years ago, when we were updating fixtures in a townhouse prior to sale. They were responsive and efficient, so when we moved into a 1960s home in Shoreline, we called them again for an estimate for all of the electrical updates we needed done. I called Mirsky's when we were having an electricity crisis at our house. For two winters we had issues with flickering lights, and had a different electrician come out and try to fix things with no luck. So one night, it was like a full-on poltergeist at our house, lights flickering and electricity surging in ways we didn't even know was possible. We didn't know whether we should be laughing or be very afraid. So I called and left messages for a couple of different electricians. Matt at Mirsky's called me back the very next morning (the other electricians didn't call back!). He told me they were booked out for two weeks, but that based on what I told him was happening, that I should call Seattle City Light and have them come out. I told him that they had already come out, but he told me to have them come out AGAIN. Best advice I could have gotten! I called Seattle City Light and explained what was going on. They came out within the hour, and found something wrong with one of the outside connections! The first time they came it was at night in bad weather, and somehow they missed it. I hired Mirsky twice, first for a faulty bathroom light, second for a faulty livingroom light. Their fix for the bath light didn't hold up for more than a couple months, but they came back, rediagnosed the issue and solved it for free. I hired Mirsky Electric for a sizable electrical rewire, panel and service upgrade for my 1950s home. The crew (Grant, Martin, Travis) was very professional, wore masks during customer visits, and kept me apprised of any updates on a regular basis. Craftsmanship is high with Mirsky. For example, electrical rewiring requires drywall cutting -- Mirsky did the absolute minimum to cut drywall so that I wouldn't have to patch too many pieces. The rewiring was complex but the crew got it done. Martin and Travis were able to rewire the kitchen to my specification including a 240V 50A stove top and additional romex connections for my vent hood. The service panel was upgraded and moved to code. Grant even had the foresight to fish a 50A low gauge wire for an electrical vehicle service equipment (EVSE) for charging my electric car. Really superb. I called up four electricians to give bids on this project. Mirsky's bid was straightforward and transparent. At the end of the project, they came under budget which is phenomenal. Overall OK service. They definitely know how to do electrical related stuff but if you are detail oriented don't expect much from them. I talked to Mirsky over email and explicitly mentioned that I live in a newly painted house and I want the electrician to do a good job when it come to finish and details. I basically wanted to add two outlets to my bathrooms. Mirsky added the two outlets but the work is not 5 star: 1- The outlet covers do not match my existing screwless Leviton outlets. They just used whatever they had. I don't have super fancy or special outlets. These can be found in any hardware store. So, this is not acceptable to me especially when I'm being charged more than $30 per outlet for material. 2- They routed the wire for one of the outlets off of an existing outlet. When they opened the existing outlet, they caused some minor damage to the dry wall around the outlet. This made a gap around the outlet. So, now I have to patch and paint the gap that they made. 3- On the other outlet, they made a bunch of extra (like 20) poke holes around the new outlets to see where to put it (see the photo below after I changed the covering myself to match the rest) I can understand that poking around is necessary but I do expect some sort of remedy for this. I need to patch and paint myself. Overall, OK. I've been spending a few hours of my time to buy the correct covers and fix up the remaining issues. read more

So incredibly impressed with Mirsky from the very start. When communicating with Matt about the work we needed done and scheduling, he was concise, clear, and friendly. I initially had them come out to replace a few outlets and two light fixtures but Seamus was so incredible that I decided to do a bigger project (replacing can lights, all the light fixtures in the house, and all the switches and outlets) as well. Seamus was professional and courteous. He clearly explained everything we needed to know. Move a few outlets slighly to cover up small gaps in the wall or have it fit better in a bookcase. I scheduled them to change some outlets to GFCI outlets, add a timer switch to my porch lights and check a fireplace switch.
