Wife said it still felt wrong and still "shimmied". Went back to M&M who told me that we needed tires with stronger sidewalls and offered to sell us some. Later that month, we took it in for its state inspection and it failed for a broken rear swaybar. The inspector showed me the broken swaybar and told me that it was for safety and could cause it to be dangerous in curves because the swaybar evens out the sway of the rearend, what my wife had described as a shimmy. The inspection place didn't do suspension repairs, so we took it somewhere else. M & M did not perform the service requested.

Before you read this review, know the following upfront:…read more 1. Nelson's does not negotiate on price (think CarMax pricing but, Nelson's is the opposite of CarMax). 2. Nelson's sales employees are not paid on commission. 3. We had been watching three, almost identical, CX-9's for over a month. Two were at 'haggle' dealerships. 4. When I did buy the CX-9, it was the last of the month & it was near closing time. (If you know, you know) 5. I spent six hours apiece at the 'haggle' dealerships; Nelson's had us and out in under two hours and that was not rushed. I'll never get those twelve hours of my life back. DEALERSHIP: The two 'haggle' dealerships were STILL two thousand dollars more than Nelson's non-negotiable / non-commission price. At Nelson's, I used every trick in the toolbox during to get a lower price. I even tried the "I am not sure this is the price...I'm going to another dealership". As I walked away, I waited for the sales manager to jog after us as we left. Nope. Nelson's takes all the fun out of car negotiations. :-) I also observed the other employees. Everyone I saw were not what we have come to expect from a car dealership. They are much better. I'm going to chalk that up to Nelson's sales employees are not under pressure to sell, sell, sell. SALESPERSON Ask for Jacob. Period. Jacob was 100% transparent. He not only showed us how the pricing structure worked, he also explained every line item on the final invoice before we signed. After the sale, Jacob spent thirty minutes showing us how things worked on the CX-9. Think about the last time you bought a car. Did you see your salesperson after the deal was signed? Also, ask Jacob for $15 worth of gas when you close the deal. He'll get it. CONCLUSION Whatever car you are looking for, run the VIN through all these web sites to ensure you have the complete history of the car. They don't know when an engine will appear, don't know what to tell me, toss out a toll free number and suggest I call Ford directly rather than trying to work with the customer and Ford for resolution. What ever happened to service advocates? Ford has closed one ticket and never got back to me with a resolution. Did not respond to multiple email and voicemail messages. I've reopened the issue with hopes of getting some kind of resolution. Meanwhile, I will tell the story and hope I can inform and save someone else a little indigestion. Update: have made multiple contacts to Ford. Rebuilt engines exist online; however, they will not agree to service or pay for a fix with alternate parts.

I suppose all of those Super Bowl tv commercials convinced me that the best place to take a Ford when the 'check engine' light comes on is a GENUINE Ford mechanic. WRONG. TriCity Ford will not hold themselves responsible for failing a customer. Everyone already knows that going to the dealership for service is the most expensive option. This business takes that unearned 'best' notion straight to the curb. Our daughter's Ford FIESTA indicated that there was 'transmission failure' and while driving the automatic transmission was stuck in Low. TRI-CITY FORD charged her a flat diagnostic rate of $151.57 ("it COULD take from 2 minutes to five hours" said the manager). The service dept at TriCity said on May 5 2022 that "the repair would cost between $900-$1000, but that the parts might not be available for months." When I described the diagnostic device to the manager - while he was looking at our receipt - he confirmed that it was the same tool. This discussion with the manager took place 10 minutes after the owner of the used car lot where she bought this car fixed the problem in less than a minute using the same device TriCity Ford mechanics used, and he did it for FREE. After wasting about ten minutes of my life talking to the acting manager of the dealership, no refund was given nor offered from a business selling cars that cost tens of thousands of dollars. He even tried to blame-shift this on his service department, and I corrected him. "YOU are where the buck stops, you can refund this, and we are getting nowhere." And left. I won't be back. LET THIS BE A WARNING TO ANYONE FOOL ENOUGH TO ENTRUST THEIR FAMILY VEHICLE TO THIS BUSINESS.

I have been a regular customer for over 5 years and have paid for at least 3 oil changes i did not ask for ("we thought you wanted it done"), and just recently was charged a $180 diagnosis charge to determine that my car needed an alignment even though I told them it needed and alignment. When i picked up the car they seemed apprehensive to show me the invoice and when i called them about it after the fact they argued with me...ie, i was wrong...they were right. Not a best practice in treating a long time customer. Trust is paramount to me. To slick for me. Wont be going back.
