We were staying in the Grand Lake area for a 1-week vacation. The 2nd day we were in town, our SUV started making a terrible metal on-metal sound as we were leaving our cabin. First thing Monday morning, we called First Class Automotive about getting the SUV checked out and fixed. Don was very professional and helped confirm the information we needed in order to exercise the warranty we have on our car. At least that way we could get reimbursed for the repair expense when we returned home. We had the vehicle towed within the hour. Don told my significant other that if we could get it there by around noon, they'd make time to look at it that day. He called a couple of hours after the vehicle arrived at their shop and explained that a wheel bearing was bad, etc. Turns out he had the part for our Nissan, and they had some time in the afternoon since the part for another customer had not arrived yet. He called by 4pm and said it was fixed. The very next morning we were back on the road and our SUV is driving great. They were a big help in being prompt and communicative so that we could we could enjoy our vacation without having to spend too much on a rental car. We highly recommend this shop! read more

I am only in town for the weekend. I need to get home (3 hours away) for the closing of my house tomorrow. All the tire shops told me they were booked for the WEEK! It's been about 3/4 months without my car. Took it in to first class like I always have never been an issue until now. Went to go get my drive shaft fixed took a while and when I got my car back said it was leaking oil, took it down to denver for an oil change for them to tell me my oil pan was broken. Called first class to see what was going on and it turns out it " all my fault" I have a picture from under my car of the oil pan and it clearly does look like they did some damage. After that they didn't want to fix it , pay for it to get towed or give me my money back. Took it to another shop come to find out all the "work" they were doing on my car is all jacked up because they dont know what they are doing . This place is an auto shop, not just a detail shop. Do NOT take your car here. My car basically keeled over driving through the mountains in Rocky Mountain National Park, and we barely made it limping in to First Class. The dude/owner said it was going to be $80 just to plug the diagnostic computer into the car, which I agreed to do since he was acting like he'd be able to get my car in that day. He took an hour to get around to getting a read on my car. He told me that two of my cylinders were misfiring and that my car needed a tune up/spark plugs/coils replaced, but that he wouldn't be able to work on it until first thing Monday morning (this was Saturday), knowing full well that we had to drive back to Texas on Monday. There were two cars ahead of mine that would be worked on that afternoon, and he refused to ask his mechanic to stay and work on mine after hours. The only suggestion he made was to get a hotel down the street and wait it out through Monday, even though our campsite and belongings were stuck on the mountain more than 60 miles away. He also refused to give back the $80 diagnostic fee. I wound up going across the street to Mountain View Auto and received wonderful service there from honest, genuinely concerned guys. They charged me $70 parts and labor, whereas this asshole at First Class charged me $10 MORE then the cost to fix it for plugging in a computer that not even Auto Zone charges for, knowing full well he wouldn't be able to fix my car for me. First Class had a lot of business coming in and out the day I was there, but this guy completely ripped me off and didn't seem a bit concerned about it. I guess some people will really do anything to turn a profit, including taking advantage of stranded tourists. read more

Bill and Shelly are fantastic, neighborly people. I've been a regular customer since they bought the shop a few years ago. After my trailer hitch detached from the ball a few blocks from the shop -- with my horse still in the trailer! -- good Samaritans helped me re-hitch and then I called Bill. He dropped what he was doing *and drove over to me* so I wouldn't have to risk moving my horse in an unsafe rig. My horse and I can't thank him enough for his kindness. My boyfriend and I hit a massive pothole just outside of Grand Lake. We got a tow to First Class and we're so happy that we did! Bill and Shelly were so so helpful. They went out of their way to get us back on the road as soon as possible even though two of our rims were completely toast. Bill ran all around town searching for a replacement tire so that we wouldn't have to delay our plans. Honest and kind business people. We would fully recommend them to anyone! read more

First Class Automotive Is not just the business name it's their business practice. My old Durango had trouble keeping up with the grand Colorado tour I was trying to give my out of town family. When the Durango gave out in the middle of our trip into Rocky Mountain National Park First Class Auto went out of their way to get us back on the road in record time. Their first class service even followed up with a phone call the next day to make sure that we arrived home safely and that the Durango was running well. First class auto turned a car nightmare situation into a dream resolution. I would highly recommend first class auto to anyone in the Winter Park Fraser Granby area. read more

Unfortunately, I did not read the reviews before I went in. So I'll also be complaining to Granby's equivalent of Better Business Bureau too, who ever gave this shop it's 1st price for customer service. I bought a motor block heater for my Excursion from Car Quest. However, my brothers didn't have time to install it and the owner (John) of Car Quest (a branch of Advanced Auto) told me he could recommend some shops to do the work. I trusted him and the part because John has the same vehicle and be picked the same part for mine. I scheduled the appointment with DON at First Class for Monday 10/24 at 3pm. It was supposed to be 1 1/4 hours, $125. He'd call if done early. I went back at 4:30, still not done, and Don said I had wrong part. He had to get replacement. So done by 5. Went home and parked. Thursday noon my UPS driver said "you're leaking anti freeze all over driveway." True. Took vehicle back to Don/First Class. Another hour later, Don tells me NO LEAKS. First some excuse of "burps", then says pressure tested to "20" when normal is only 12. Also says NO RESIDUAL from a leak so can't tell where it came from. Since I had photos of antifreeze puddling on garage apron, it had to come from somewhere. However, Don said NO LEAKS, NO PROBLEM. Drove home, parked, marked level of antifreeze on car with marker pen and put sheet under engine to watch for leaks. Friday 8 AM, ready to leave for Denver and 5 appointments. No leaks. Started and left to warm up. 10 minutes later, fluid down 1" and puddling under vehicle. Call DON, sent photos. Too busy to look at it till 11AM. OK, he'd try and fit me in. Drove up and waited for an hour, finally mechanic came outside with pen light and ladder. Now claims my radiator seal at top is plastic and cracked. That's where leak is from. Hadn't "noticed" yesterday as only looked at piece they'd installed. Told DON radiator, hoses and water pump all new this July and NO PROBLEMS till truck went into him. "Those things happen" "I've seen them explode" "JUST COINCIDENCE" "Your new radiator should be under warranty" "NOT RESPONSIBLE" I wouldn't take my truck back there for FREE SERVICE. I DO NOT BELIEVE IN COINCIDENCE. I BELIEVE IN GROSS NEGLIGENCE, INCOMPETENCE AND SABOTAGE. I'M A LOCAL. IF THEY DO THIS TO ME, WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN TO YOU POOR TOURISTS. read more

Our van broke down while vacationing in the mountains. The workers at first class auto were absolutely wonderful. They went out of their way to help us from beginning to end. I would recommend them to anyone in the area. read more

The owner himself tried to give me a quote with a 75% mark-up on parts for my vehicle. Also, when I brought the car in it had a very small leak, when I left it was larger. Even though, they just "looked" at it. I would not recommend this shop unless you like to be taken advantage of. read more
