I contacted Mr. Moe at J & J Automotive back in October 2024 about my 2005 Chrysler Crossfire over the phone. I told him what the car was doing and I asked him if he thought he could fix it. He said yes. I live about a hour and half from this automotive shop. I drove the car to his automotive shop. At first what Mr. Moe thought was the problem wasn't. After he did a diagnostic and found out it was the fuse panel box, he ordered from a car dealership. The wrong year of the car was sent. My car is a 2005. In the mean while I had order the part online. At first Mr. Moe said he couldn't use it, but after the one he had ordered from the dealership, they sent was the wrong one he went ahead and use the one I had ordered. He told me that it will take about 11 hours because there was a lot of wires he had to connect. In between the snow, bad weather, getting the part and etc., it took several months. I didn't mine because I wanted my car fixed. From the time I picked my car up in early March/ April 2025 my car has been starting. Mr. Moe fixed the problem like he said he would. He is a great man. He and his partner was always polite to me over the phone when I called about my car. Whenever I called, to inquire what was doing to my car, he would tell me. I would highly recommend J & J Automotive if you have a foreign car. After having an unpleasant visit with another business that wanted to charge me a steep price for repairs, I wanted a second opinion, and a friend recommended J&J to me. From the moment I pulled in the lot, Abe was courteous and friendly. And he did something I've never seen a mechanic do- he drove the car with me as a passenger, and listened to all my concerns! Their old car lift inside the garage almost tore off my car's undercarriage, I only went in for a car inspection. Not recommended.

Keep your kids at home! They provide quick service at average prices, but their mechanics are so profane. I spent the time waiting for my car counting curse words as one of their guys shouted for about fifteen minutes. Definitely not safe for young ears. You've been warned. read more

Oh my goodness, PLEASE come to J&J. I've been going to Campus Auto Services on the very next block for my yearly inspection for the past two years at least, because they're so convenient a location. But both times, I felt that the employees were gruff and brusque. This time I googled and "found" J&J Automotive, and it had good reviews. I'm so glad I came! I called beforehand to ask if I could get an inspection today, and the foreign gentleman who answered told me a good time to come (though made no appointment), and actually said "you're welcome" and "bye bye" before hanging up. Call me "old-fashioned," but I hate the rudeness inherent with auto repair places these days, even parts stores: the moment they think they're sure the call is over, they say something impersonal like "yup," and find that a good time to hang up the phone. J&J at least has basic manners! So I get here (yep, still here) and I'm greeted quickly enough by what seems to be the same gentleman who answered the phone. He came from the bay to greet me. Told me it would be about 30 minutes, as there were three cars ahead of me, and about 20 minutes later, they were pulling my ride into the bay. Before that though, I asked if they had WiFi ("wiffy," as my 12-yr-old loves to say - haha), and he gave the password so I could continue working remotely from their waiting area here. Quite nice. (I'd brought my smartphone along for a tether just in case.) There's no A/C in here -- at least, they don't have it on on this last day of September -- and it's quite warm. I just pulled one of the two chairs a bit out of the sun, asked that the fan be cut on, and the owner(?) cut it on for me without qualms, and continued to try to ensure that I would be comfortable as I waited. While in the waiting area, I see two of the three employees dealing jovially, kindly, and fairly with the other clients, joking here and there, smiling, just being GOOD PEOPLE... quite a change from the other inspection location I was using. Several people I've seen come through here appear to be regulars, and it seems apparent why. The other reviews I found had comments about fair and kind treatment as well. Finally, before I left I told the owner that I usually used the other inspection station on the other block, but that they were rude and quite gruff. Another of the clients (who'd inadvertently left his fixed car with them for 2 weeks, but who was STILL dealt with in the same friendly manner) chimed in to agree: "True story, actually," as he nodded in agreement. Apparently I'm not the only one who's tried "Campus" before and was left wanting more. Well, there you have it, folks. (Oh, and $25 oil changes too, I found. Will be going there next time I need one, instead of across town to Tire King!) Recommended. ;) read more

Edwin at J&J Automotive was very professional in helping me learn more about the internal workings of my car (2000 Buick Regal) as well as explaining registration regulations for North Carolina. I recently moved to Raleigh from the mid-west where inspection regulations are much more lax. After visiting several other mechanics, each with ranging opinions and prices, Edwin was able to make sense of the problems with my car and helped me prioritize the issues on a very tight budget. J&J Automotive is an honest business looking out for the safety and well-being of working people. I left feeling so appreciative and so relieved for having NOT been looked down on or taken advantage of for being in-experienced, young, blonde, female who is "not from around here," as is so common at many auto establishments. While the office isn't "pretty" and there isn't a designated desk worker, I know that my transaction begins and ends with the honest and realistic mechanic who dealt with my vehicle. read more

i love this place. have had multiple issues with my car and ibrahim is always helpful, honest, and the price is always low. i've used honda dealers for my cr-v for a few things, and i've used chain auto parts stores. they'll tell you you're getting a deal, when really they'll upcharge you hundreds of dollars. j and j has consistently been way cheaper. once my friend who drives a jeep had something wrong with her car and she went to the jeep dealership, they told her it would cost 600+ to fix it. she took the diagnostic here and they did it for about 100- just labor and parts, and they even showed her the part listing online to let her know they were charging her just the exact cost of the part plus shipping. they don't upcharge you here. also, let me just say i don't know a lot about cars. i don't have the vernacular to describe things happening in my car. i walk in and tell ibrahim, i'm hearing squeaking, or my car rumbles weird, and he doesn't even look at me funny. he is just nice and respectful, whereas before i've had mechanics laugh at me because i'm a young woman and don't know what i'm talking about. here they explain it to me, and one time ibrahim taught me how to fill my tires correctly. i love this place and i don't even get upset about my oil light coming on because i look forward to coming in here. read more
