The team was so friendly, helpful, reassuring, kind, honest, and knowledgeable. I received consistent updates about the status and recommendations as requested on what I would need, but was also informed that my vehicle was in very good shape. That's always great to hear because some shops try to get over but the integrity here will keep me as a longtime customer. I don't take that car just anywhere so I'm glad I found some great hands to help me maintain it at a reasonable price point and the job was performed rather quickly! I contacted Mr. Moe at J & J Automotive back in October 2024 about my 2005 Chrysler Crossfire over…read morethe phone. I told him what the car was doing and I asked him if he thought he could fix it. He said yes. I live about a hour and half from this automotive shop. I drove the car to his automotive shop. At first what Mr. Moe thought was the problem wasn't. After he did a diagnostic and found out it was the fuse panel box, he ordered from a car dealership. The wrong year of the car was sent. My car is a 2005. In the mean while I had order the part online. At first Mr. Moe said he couldn't use it, but after the one he had ordered from the dealership, they sent was the wrong one he went ahead and use the one I had ordered. He told me that it will take about 11 hours because there was a lot of wires he had to connect. In between the snow, bad weather, getting the part and etc., it took several months. I didn't mine because I wanted my car fixed. From the time I picked my car up in early March/ April 2025 my car has been starting. Mr. Moe fixed the problem like he said he would. He is a great man. He and his partner was always polite to me over the phone when I called about my car. Whenever I called, to inquire what was doing to my car, he would tell me. I would highly recommend J & J Automotive if you have a foreign car. OK, no worries, but why are you coming up being rude. Joey said, "It looks like y'all are doing a drug deal passing things from car to car in the middle of my parking lot. I'm done, dude it's 830 am. the streets are too busy to be parking on them. No vehicles had entered the business at any point or time while being there. I've never been approached in a manner like that and for this guy to assume a drug deal was going down is completely wrong and unacceptable had it been another race they would have either not been approached or the approach would have been very different. The best part was they called RPD, which I waited and spoke with the officer. This was one of the most racist situations I've been in, in quite some time. I wouldn't have ever thought it would happen in the heart of downtown Raleigh. If you think every black guy driving a nice ride is a drug dealer, then yeah, you're racist, and this is the perfect business for you. My husband used to use them for oil changes every now and again and for fixing a few minor issues here and there. However, my husband's car recently began overheating on his way to work. When he got to work, he thought he had a crack in his radiator and needed a new one. A coworker who likes to work on cars took a look at his car during lunch break and said the same thing. He called a few of our usual repair shops to get prices and got quoted an average of $350. He decided to take a risk with Auto Way, and we're so glad he did. They charged a very reasonable price of $200 and had his car repaired in a few hours. Coincidentally my car had been due for scheduled maintenance a week or two prior and I had called tons of shops to compare prices for a new timing belt. I was told at almost every shop that I should replace the water pump at the same time, and quoted an average of $650-$850 between 4 shops. I picked a shop that ended up charging $700 and had the work done there. When my husband went to pick his car after the radiator was replaced at Auto Way, he asked what the cost for a new timing belt for my car would be. They also told him it was advisable to replace the water pump, and quoted him $500. This place is NOT fancy. It's a hole in the wall place off a side road and seems a bit sketchy. There's even a few chickens hanging around the lot. But these guys seem like honest folks who charge a fair price and do things right. We'll be bringing our cars there for all maintenance and repairs from now on. I'll update this review if my opinion ever changes (it has before with auto mechanic shops), but I have high hopes for a lasting relationship with Auto Way.

Then I stopped by one day to check in, and my car was not there, and the place was closed. As I was leaving, my car came pulling in, full of people. They had food, car parts, and pulled someone else's tire out of my trunk. As I was just sitting and watching, the driver put my car in reverse and spun the wheels on the rocks. I was furious and confronted them, and they tried to claim they were just test-driving my car. My vehicle was not fixed, and it had over 500 more miles on it since I dropped it off, and it smelled of BO & cig smoke. I had to file a police report and do plan on taking legal action.
