First Class Catering did a phenomenal job for our wedding. Michael and his team were exceptionally professional and responsive in the lead-up to the event. We had a small event and were very particular about restrictions due to COVID-19. Michael and his team dropped off the food in the garage, adhered to good masking when we briefly met, and then gave us directions on how to keep the food perfectly warmed for the rest of the night. The dinner was delicious -- especially the miso salmon -- and everyone remarked on how good it was. Michael was especially accommodating of our party's need to have kosher meats -- he drove out to Orange County specifically to find a kosher meat supplier which shows how above and beyond he and his team were willing to go for us. I has such a great experience with First Class Catering. They were prompt with communication, quickly returned my calls and email, the food was amazing, and the professionalism was off the charts. When they setup the buffet, the did not miss a thing. The Executive Chef walked me through each item and gave me instructions to keep it fresh for my guests. And boy, did my guests love the food! I had a quote request sent to 5 people and the first response I got was from Michael, within the hour. The second one came later and the third came in a few days. Never got the last 2. I always lean towards the first one because I know they're responsive. But also gave the second one a chance. I told them that our family needed it for my dad's funeral in a week and that we didn't want to spend too much. The second one quoted something around 12,000... pretty much what a wedding would cost. Michael worked with us and gave us his best suggestions. He quoted something more to our budget. He was very responsive and prompt. He met with my mother and sister on the Monday after and changed the menu a bit. The day before the funeral he emailed and called me to let me know how everything was going to go the next day. On the day of, he emailed me and apologized that to contact me through the service (it wasn't a bother) to say that the food has been delivered. I spoke to his delivery person who set everything up and set aside some trays to replace ones that have been finished. The food was amazing. My friends and cousins kept asking who made the food. The white pasta was probably the best one. But all in all, it was great and we didn't have to worry about running out of food and such. I highly recommend them. read more

There are no words to express how thankful I am for Michael and his team! For our destination wedding our in the sand dunes we were so worried about how we were going to feed everybody. But Michael really put my mind at ease. He was so helpful and had great advice on how to tackle this tricky situation. They created an AMAZING menu that was able to hold up all day! There was plenty of food and he supplied us with all the equipment and information we needed to keep the food looking and tasting delicious. My mother in law was the one who picked it up and couldn't stop talking about how awesome he was and how he was so invested in making sure our food situation was a good one. Called them for a quote on a small cocktail party. Very friendly and appeared to be quite interested and then did not listen to what I had requested so I would say their communication skills are non existent. They could not make enough money on our event to make it worth their while so created a quote so highly priced that we would not hire them. Perhaps they are great for large functions where they choose menu. Instead of wasting quite a bit of my time and energy all they had to say event too small or better yet booked that date. Not impressed and will not recommend them due to poor communication and listening skills. read more

My partner and I were married in July, however decided to have a celebration of our union once the weather cooled off, which was in early November. After contacting a number of caterers, Michael was the only one who called back timely and initiated conversations to ensure he completely understood what we were looking for. The event was outside in the evening for about 25 people; full bar, buffet line, stand-up tall tables, white linens on all tables with candles, a staff of 3...all dressed to the 9's. The food was simply wonderful. We had some severe dietary restrictions due to allergies by some of the guests...Michaels ability to work around the restrictions was amazing. I cannot rate this company high enough....the food, service, attitude of the staff....all over the top! And everyone of our guests were so happy and impressed. We can't say enough great things about Michael and First Class Catering Service!! We had our wedding on April 1st at a venue that was off the beaten path in Joshua Tree. We were concerned about finding a quality catering company that would go all the way out there but luckily that was not an issue! Michael Alcantar and his chefs, Nancy and her crew and bartenders were an important part of a wedding I planned in La Quinta which the bride and groom described as their perfect wedding. From my first contact, I could tell Mike really cared about providing the best food and service possible. He asked a lot of questions which told me he was a detail person. He was open to me tinkering with the menu and presentation and then applied his expertise in executing the plan. His food was very tasty - especially the beef (fillet mignon) and chicken kabobs which can be problematic when you're feeding 130 guests. He uses top of the line product - a few of our choices included: (appies) gazpacio shots with a grilled shrimp skewer, watermelon and feta bites, (sides) brussels sprouts and dates (and they were a hit), 2 salads, one with kale and quinoa and baby greens with roasted beets and citrus - both were bursting with flavor. I felt he took the role as my partner in executing a memorable wedding - let's face it - people want a great meal and he did not disappoint. And, let's not forget his bartenders who rocked the evening serving delicious drinks that included our signature drink, a cucumber margarita. Palm Springs is not my usual venue and I did a lot of research about local chefs and catering companies.
