Well, this place is a mall. Plain and simple. It has the typical stores you'd expect to find in suburban America with department stores as anchors. Dillard's is pretty nice as is Macy's and I can sometimes find a dress I like in these places. Otherwise, this mall has an Apple store and I'm always up for an Apple store. JCPenney has a smaller scale Sephora located inside it which is great. Macy's also has a better than average selection of cosmetics/beauty items. The food court has standard fare out of which the Chick Fil A is the one I would go to if I were hungry. I don't usually frequent malls but this one is clean and bright and I wouldn't mind coming here to walk around or shop for a few things. read more

I'm going to go against the tide of negative reviews and votes to say that First Colony Mall is the perfect middle class mall. The stores are actually affordable. The workers, even at the more expensive stores, are actually nice and won't look down on you or treat you like a pariah because you don't fit the brands' image. There are no hoodlums lurking around, just normal, everyday kids being kids. The mall is walkable. You don't have to spend a day trying to find one store. It's easy to find a parking space and you can walk without bumping into someone. It's a great conventional mall for the everyday working man. read more

This mall is in a very upscale/wealthy neighborhood. You would think you would find a Gucci, LV, or Burberry here but nope. You find quite the opposite! I have never seen so many Police Officers in one mall before, their was a lot of hoodlums walking around here. There is not that many "nice" type of shops. They do have a Macy's, Dillard's, kind of department stores but nothing to special for the area. They do have about 3 shoe stores that sell Nikes which is awesome. I encountered one "Footaction" who I asked an employee for a size he said okay and walked off, then came back out and saw another person and helped them and I go hey dude? He's like yeah ill be with you in a minute. I told the manager and she looked at me like whatever so I said okay I'll go across the way to Footlocker and grab pair which I did. He made me wait 5 minutes is what got me upset when I was the first one in the store. This mall is nothing special and not a mall you would plan a "day trip" too, if your in the area and need to kill some time, it's that kind of mall. Around the mall is excellent choices for dining, shopping, and spending your day. The parking is decent here and enough to not make you walk far at all. I'll skis this mall like the past 20 years and keep on going to the Galleria for a fun filled day of shopping. I do however love the Sugarland/Stafford area. read more

Ah memories! I've been frequenting this mall since it's inception and I even worked here for awhile in high school (Imaginations . . . hollah! Where did that place go???). Anyway First Colony Mall has gone a long way since it first opened. It used to be kind of a bummer and I was always finding myself longing to run to the Galleria or Memorial City Mall instead. But they've classed it up since then. Coach, Apple store and ummm, Macy's? Really though, for serious, this mall used to be so much more dreary and under-attended, which made it seem bleaker. I think the additional of the new restaurants and businesses around it has really encouraged more well-known businesses to move into the mall and more shoppers. The food court here is pretty well stocked - the usual pizza, McDonald's, Chinese, Mexico, Taco Bell (woot!), and I think some Japanese or Mediterranean? There's a few independent stores dotted about First Colony Mall, but none that I can say are really worth visiting. This mall definitely suits my needs when I need something "from the mall," but I can honestly say I still prefer the Galleria! But who doesn't? read more

I like First Colony Mall. I've been coming here for about the last 12 years, and I don't have anything major to complain about. Sure, it's not the Galleria, but really none of the malls in Houston can compare to the Galleria- it's the largest, centrally located, and a Mecca for international travelers looking to buy lots of expensive, brand name clothing. I like First Colony because it is catered more towards the area- in this case, Sugar Land. Yes, that means that there are more teenagers hanging around, but honestly all the stores I shop at the Galleria are also at First Colony, without the fuss of the Galleria. They're been expanding the outdoor section of the mall, which unfortunately has cut into the parking, but it's a nice area to walk around. I like to find a book from Barns & Nobles, get a bite at Black Walnut, and browse the sales at Bath and Body Works. It's much more relaxed than other malls, with a slower pace known only to the suburbs. If I'm in the mood to just walk around a mall, with no real agenda, I love strolling around First Colony. I don't shop at really high-end stores, like Gucci or Armani, so I don't miss out on much by coming here instead of the Galleria. First Colony stays busy during the week, with lots of moms and babies shopping in the morning and early afternoon, and middle- and high-school kids in the evening. If you get annoyed by children, or prissy moms with the babies get in your way, I don't think you'll like this place. This place is SLAMMED during the holidays. Most malls are in general, but it seems like everyone in Sugar Land is at the mall after work and on the weekends during November and December. If you're looking for a low-key place to do your Christmas shopping, don't come here. I find that the Galleria is easier to get in and out of during the holidays, because there's not so many kids running around. read more

This mall has really taken a hit since the economy went bust...all the stores don't seem as cheerful, with their dimly lit stores and sad sales people. I have never really like this mall, since Galleria is not much further. I only visit when I have to, which is when I am visiting the in-laws and the wifey wants to hit the stores. They do have some good stores: Apple, Sephora, Macy's...but nothing really fancy. The stores comprising the oudoor shopping are really nice, like Williams Sonoma, but with the finicky weather in Houston it's tough to walk outdoors at times. read more

I recently moved to Rosenberg a few weeks ago and was looking to buy a few clothing items. A couple people mentioned First Colony Mall so thats where I decided to go. It was easy to located, there was enough parking in the lot and the property seemed clean. My only complaint about this mall is that there aren't enough urban stores if any at all. I remember going here back in high school. When my friends and I first got our licenses we would drive out here shop, eat, and watch a movie. The mall now is full of shops for preppy high schoolers. I always tell myself hey I haven't been here in awhile and end up there and realized why I hadn't been, because they don't have any stores that appeal to me. I'd stick to the galleria. read more

I think this is the closest mall to where we were staying in Houston. We were here twice during our short stay. There's a Dillard's here and that's all I needed, but we went in to several other stores also. The food court is small but has good options. This mall is ok. They don't have many interesting stores inside. They don't have any plus-sized stores which is the category I fit into. My 15 year old nephew likes to come and hang out with his friends here. What they do? I don't know. I just drop off and pick up. The smaller kids like to run around. I really have no reason to come here except during Christmas time to look at the directions and get the kids out of the house. They have nothing to offer me here. read more

This mall sucks... I guess since it's not as crowded as other malls, workers think they don't really have to do their jobs because I got horrible customer service everywhere I went. This worker at Aldo was literally on her phone the whole time that I was in there. Also Victoria secrets systems were down and champs didn't have any cash to give me for my return. Like what?! There aren't many good store selections. Honestly if you are visiting Sugarland and need to go to a mall, I would just drive the extra miles and go to memorial mall or galleria mall. Chances are, you will not like this mall if you are a guy. Theres like no European stores in here.. Sorry, but I'm not into the iconic American trend such as Abercrombie or Aeropostle or Express.. Not to mention that most stores are girl oriented and even less high end retail stores. Theres only 3 department stores: Dillards, Macy's, and JC Penny's. This mall is pretty small compared to most malls and there isn't as much of a selection considering the stores are even smaller than they are at other malls. The food court doesn't have as great of a selection as other malls but it isn't too bad because it has the basics - Sbarro, Taco Bell, Marble Slab, McDonalds, Taco Bell..you get the just. It gets REALLY packed on weekends but unlike other malls, you won't have that big of an issue finding parking since the parking lots are huge. Granted, you may have to park at JcPenney and walk a little bit if you're trying to get to Forever 21, but it isn't that bad. I do agree with whoever said that this mall is catered to the younger generation. The stores that adults would prefer (White House Black Market, Coldwater Creek, Ann Taylor, Barnes and Noble..etc) are located in the strip outside the mall and in Town Center, which is a walking distance. read more

This food court is horrible. Do not go to the Saku Japanese place. I have been to the one in Santa Monica California and the good was fresh and good. But this Saku in mall is bad. The meat is so chewy. I ordered the tempura chicken and just looking at it I couldn't eat it. I'm only giving a review on the food court. read more

My high school life was spent at this mall, so I can't say I don't like the place. It gives me a second home kind of feel, despite its changes over the years. If I don't feel like traveling the extra mile to the galleria or memorial mall, I come to this one. This mall is more for like a family trip, rather than one you would spend with someone else for a date or catching up with friends. The items and shops are geared more towards a family shopping trip (at least that's what it feels like for me lol) I don't have anything against this place. I like and enjoy exploring here and the food choices presented here are getting better too, so give this a place a spin and try if you don't want to go somewhere too crowded to shop. read more

Well I love this mall cause I've been here since I was a baby but, what people don't know is right behind the mall there is and outside section with places to eat and more stores, also if you go to town center there are more "higher class" stores and right across from there is more stores. People keep leaving hate comments because they don't know where to look. It's a great little mall and not far from the mall there are many more little stores. I like this location for the sheer fact that they opened the Forever 21. I used to come here a lot as a kid, my favorites being the little store where you could paint your own ceramic stuff and the Sanrio store that moved from Sharpstown Mall to First Colony, closed, and recently reopened. I can really only name 3 places I go to here and the rest of the mall I'm not too much a fan of. I never seem to be able to find what I want. I'm all about the Forever 21, the Apple Store, and Sarku, the fast food Japanese teriyaki stand in the Food Court. I shop at Forever 21 because well, it's cheap. Though I come for the F21, I've always found the store to be particularly messy and disorganized. I bought my iPhone at the Apple Store here and the people there were very nice and helpful and even helped my parents weed around the whole "$99 iPhone Upgrade on Dad's Phone But Actually Give It To Your Daughter So She Can Have An iPhone First" dilemma. My only guilty pleasure here is the Sarku stand. The chicken teriyaki with noodles isn't that great, it's not incredibly spectacular, but for whatever reason, I love eating here when I shop. It's a little overly sweet sometimes, but I love those noodles that they serve the chicken teriyaki with. First Colony Mall is a nice stop for me to go to when I need to shop for things every once in awhile, but it's definitely not one of the first places I make my way to. read more

One of the central features of Sugar Land, First Colony Mall is one of the few thriving malls in the Houston area. There are plenty of store and restaurants to keep you entertained (and your wallet empty). Also a good place to take a walk if it's raining or too hot to be outside (or cold for the 2 weeks a year it's cold here). Vendors aren't pushy (except around Christmas), so feel free to peruse the shops without being pressured into buying something. The mall is actually split into two areas, the large indoor area, then a row of shops outside (the shops are indoors, but the walkways between them are not covered, like a small town center; the actual Town Center is down the road from the mall); signage tells you where to go for the additional selections and it flows fairly naturally. Overall, a good cornerstone of the Sugar Land shopping district. read more

I do not like coming to this mall because the parking is so chaotic. If I have to go here, it's during the off peak hours (i.e. weekday before 4). The only area of the mall that has pretty good praking is JcPenney on the side closest to the freeway. read more

Went to the jewelry counter and there was a very unhappy elderly lady assisting. Her first rude comment I just ignored. Her second come caused me to be very disrespectful to her. I don't like being disrespectful to my elders but this lady was out of control. I turned around and left. Maybe she was having a bad day but it chased away a paying customer. read more

This isn't one of my favorite malls only because regardless of the stores I shop at, I never find or get what I need. The mall is not as vibrant or lively as other malls. My to go to mall is Memorial City Mall. Although it has alot if the same stores as First Colony it seems like the selection inside the stores is better. Parking could be better. The parking garage by Dillards needs more lighting or security and bigger parking spaces. The Macy's parking lot on one side is shared by the surrounding restaurants and its hard to get a good spot. Not my preferred mall, but I only go there if needed. read more

I have gone to Toni & Guy hair salon for years. I personally use Azar because of her attentiveness. She listens and then repeats back what she believes she heard so that we communicate well. She also is good to help me tailor a cut to best fit my face, my time availability for maintenance of the cut, and my personality. I have never had her be late for an appointment nor cancel. She also keeps a high degree of professional decorum. read more

I live in Sugar Land and this mall is close. I love the location and now that it has an Apple store I am super happy. Driving all the way to the Galleria was not my idea of fun. There is usually parking, but now since they made part of the parking lots full of stores, parking is always tight. Because of that I rate it 4 out of 5. Other then that when I need to go shopping, if I need to go shopping, this place gets things done and there is usually sales to keep my cheap needs happy. read more

First Colony Mall, where I had my first date with my current GF 5 years ago. There were a lot of memories about this place good and bad. I remember the stores it use to have were really awesome and it was 50/50 adult to kids stores and population. I came back later and wow, it's become a shopping mall for mainly teens. What you'll definitely see are the adults near the Barnes and Noble shopping area and their limited stores. Don't expect anything coming here unless it's time passer for an event at the Town Square. read more

This is the worst mall in the Houston area. None of the employees are knowledgeable and they don't speak English very well. They employees at Dillard's told me there was a Bare Minerals kiosk here and it was located either right outside or inside of Macy's. I walked all the way to the other end of the mall to get to Macy's, all of the women in the BEAUTY department told me they've never heard of "Bare Minerals" and that they don't know where it is sold at. What a waste of time and a trip to a useless, ghetto mall. read more

I dropped my MacBook Pro off on Monday to be serviced. I get a call today which is Thursday that they are starting service on my MacBook. I was shocked, but asked if it would be done today, the guy said yes. Received another call at around 1530 telling me I had liquid damage in my machine. There is no sticky area at all in any crevices or openings to the machine. Also I keep the machine in a case in a studio. No beverages are allowed in there because of the equipment. This is the second time this has happened to me at that store. I recently moved here from a previous state and forgot all about this place. I was never shown the liquid damage on my own machine. It was only pictures that I was allowed to see on their iPad. Also my hard drive was out of the system. That's very strange. read more

I've practically grown up going to this mall. A lot of the stores to me, are more dedicated to a younger crowd (middle & high school students). Not that I am much older than they are, but I prefer other malls in the Houston area over this mall any day. as far as malls go, you pretty much get what you're looking for when you come here. Want that new outfit from Express? They prolly got it. Need some new shoes? Check the Anchor stores. The parking here is horrible tho'. It's never an in-and-out trip because the parking is very limited. this is my 3rd choice of mall in the area... It's worth a stop tho' if u're in the Sugarland area. read more
