    Mango Matcha Spritz

Clean quiet cafe! The mango matcha spritz was refreshing! I was afraid the amount of matcha would be overpowering but you definitely get the mango spritz taste with a hint of matcha. The workers were all really nice. And they have wifi and a few tables to sit at

I enjoyed my visit to First Up Coffee in Astoria. They have a fun menu with lots of unique flavored coffees and teas that you don't see everywhere. The shop itself is clean and cozy, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. I ordered the lavender matcha latte and it was really good. I'm already planning to go back to try their rose latte and biscoff pastries. Such a cute coffee shop to have in the neighborhood!

I did not need another coffee this morning but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to visit this cute little coffee shop I came across on my travels last night. I ordered the Biscoffe Latté and a Choclate Chip Muffin. The Biscoff Latté was unlike anything I have ever had before in my life. Beautifully creamy, caramel, and not too sweet at all. The Chocolatye Chip Muffin was warm and bursting with chocolate chips! Very well done. The décor is wonderful - I love the neon sign "selfie" area, and the coffee professionals here were all very warm and welcoming. I voted about 1:15 PM on a Tuesday and there were a handful of people in the shop, it wasn't too busy. Please consider a visit to this wonderful small business the next time you are in Astoria.

I went to this cafe with my mom and sister, and on top of drinks, we also ordered the Dhaka Chopped Cheese and a Kathi Roll. It was early in the morning, we were hungry, so we forgot to take a picture of the food. I only remembered after finishing the food because the entire time we were eating, I kept telling my mom and sister how good the food was. The Dhaka Chopped Cheese had meat, cheese, sauce, and other toppings. They served it with a small container of a pickled jalapeño, and it paired so well! The Kathi Roll was also just as tasty. It didn't feel too heavy, just the perfect amount. The atmosphere of the cafe just brings everything in together. There aren't too many crazy decorations, just simple and pleasant to the eye. There is a beautiful drawing on the wall, which I wish I had taken a picture of. You could also rent out games, I don't remember the exact price. Also, we had the opportunity to meet and speak to the owners! They are incredibly sweet, hospitable, and friendly. They kept asking for feedback on their food, but I honestly had nothing bad to say because the things I ate were perfect for me. This cafe is definitely worth a visit! :)

I ordered the iced biscoff latte and the Dhaka chopped cheese. The latte was sooo good! It wasn't too sweet and had the perfect amount of caffeine for my taste. The Dhaka chopped cheese was also very tasty! I definitely will order from here again!

Sometimes you can tell if a cafe or a restaurant is someone's dream to open and it shows in the amount of effort that they put into the space. I definitely sensed that when I entered this cafe - it's gaining its homely charm through the effort they are putting into decorating and murals. They were very inviting and while it's just the second day, I could tell they were trying their best. While I wish they had a menu that I could see when entering, they did have laminated menus at the counter. I got some Jaal and Samosa Chaat as well as a Bengali dessert which was quite delicious and had pink sprinkles on top which really fit the theme of the Cafe. I can tell that the owner is trying really hard and I want to recognize that through this review. At their soft opening in early October they had samples of the Jaal which were quite delicious. I think it's about time that this side neighborhood gets a cute cafe and I'm really happy that it reflects the culture of the area. I didn't get a drink this time, but they looked really pretty, plus it's on my commute walk home so I'll definitely be back!

To start - the Strawberry Fields…read morecocktail is honestly one of the best drinks I've had in a while: the perfect mix of strong and not too sweet. The 2 of us split 3 pastas: the Truffle Gnocchi (my favorite item of the evening), the Cacio e Pepe (one of the best renditions of this dish I've had!) and the Rigatoni Alla Diavola. I would skip the focaccia if I came back - loved the butter but it was nothing special. 10/10!

Unfortunately, it was totally bland and not large at all. The side sauce added nothing and over 30$ with tax/tip. For entrees, we shared the lobster pasta and the guazzetto di Pesci. The pasta was good. Reasonable amount of pasta but we would have liked some more chunks of lobster for the price. I thought the sauce was only ok but my girlfriend liked it. The guazzetto di Pesci was only fair. The sauce was lacking flavor. Also a very small bowl of broth with maybe 3 small shrimp and muscles, a few small chunks of fish. and two sad, tiny pieces of bread on the side. Since we were still quite hungry after the meal, we ordered the lotus chocolate caramel dessert. This was the only dish we really liked. kinda hard to mess up gelato though. It came with a hard outer candy shell and a very small cookie center that was sweet and delicious. Overall, an average meal at best that we both felt was lacking in taste and size. Won't return.
