-- Yelp Old Fart Review! -…read more Yup, I'm 72 and us older folks often need lots of tests. I have been using this hospital for about 12 years. I've reviewed them before, but this is an update focusing on their testing services! But wait you say, "I've been using one of those two big testing chains that seem to be everywhere." One of those is much closer to me, but I still go here for testing and here's why- 1. Easy Parking- Park in the big front entrance lot. If you are mobility impaired or just not feeling well, a volunteer in a golf cart will pick you up at your car and run you to the front door. 2. Wonderful Hours- 6AM-5PM M-F. 3. No Appointment Needed- I usually wait less than 10 minutes. Note that if you desire, the app will let you make an appointment. Pro Tip- A lot of folks have an order for a "fasting" blood test. So, they fast overnight and show up first thing in the morning. The morning rush ends around 10AM. 4. Solid App- Generally you get your results the same time your Dr. does. 5. Crazy Fast Results. Most folks get some type of blood test or urinalysis, and I've done both many times. My drive home is 7 miles and usually, while I'm driving, my app notifies me the results are available! That's incredible! As you can tell, I'm a huge fan of testing here. When you're going for these tests, you're already under some stress because something might be wrong. The last thing you need is more stress and I don't experience that here! 5 stars!

I sat there listening to them talk about what lousy sleep they had the night before and how tired they were. The registrar returned about 20 minutes later and checked me in. During that wait I also listened to the "provider" talk on the phone t a patient who was obviously concerned about an antibiotic she was prescribed. I couldn't believe a medical profession could speak so rudely to a patient. Out of the five staff members I came in contact with the Nurse was the only one that showed any professionalism and compassion. The "provider" was a nightmare. It was like dealing with a perky 13 year old and after being sick for a week I was in no mood. There was not an ounce of professionalism or compassion. She was sending a prescription to the local pharmacy. It was not received by then later that day. I called and left a voicemail. Checked with the pharmacy the next day and still not received. Called the clinic and was told the "provider" said she had sent it to them. I explained that I was just told they did not have it and by the way, do you check your voicemails? Was told she would ask the provider if she would call it over to the pharmacy. Over 24 hours later I'm still waiting for the pharmacy to notify me they have it. Absolute worst medical experience I've ever had. Never again. Okeechobee desperately needs a new Urgent Care facility

The staff is always extremely friendly and the inside is very organized/clean. The doctors I've seen have always been overall very friendly and knowledgeable. I appreciate that I know that I have an urgent care I can trust and go to. Today I went in for a knee injury after falling/sliding across pavement. Because the top layer of my skin was gone, there was no way to do stitches. But thankfully they were not needed. The staff properly clean, dressed, and wrapped my knees up. I also got a tetanus shot to be safe.

However, the second time coming in would be our last time. It was an absolutely awful experience right from the start. The lady in the front desk was super rude and had an unprofessional attitude towards my family and me. As we waited in the waiting room, my name was called and I wanted my family to come with me. The nurse said, "No one is allowed to accompany him." The nurse was very rude and had a chip on her shoulder. By Florida law, one can bring in a family member to accompany them to a medical room. To not bring up tension, I listened to the mean nurse. My rights were violated and I was so uncomfortable with the walk-in medical appointment. Please, do not come to Sunshine Urgent Walk-in Clinic. No star, they did not respect my family or my rights .Thank you for taking the time to read this negative review.
