We have been here for a few shows. It's always a good time! The prices like any other venue are a lot, but that's to be expected. My one complaint is that they do not give enough time for intermission. There are way too many people to make it through the few concessions lines and back to their seats before the show starts up again. So, they either need more stands or more employees to help, or longer intermissions. read more

Easy to find parking garage. Easy to walk through metal detectors. They had multiple detectors so the lines didn't get long. Inside the building is super nice. We went for the dancing with the stars tour. It was amazing and we loved every second of it. The center for the arts makes it super easy to find your seat with multiple doors. Everything is labeled by what orchestra your in and what row and seat. They had a bar there too so we could get drinks while we watched the show. It was a great experience and we would come back to this event place for another show. I also feel like there is no bad seat here, any seat gives you a great view. read more

Generally a good venue, especially for a city the size of Spokane. Lots of parking in the area, clean facility, brings in a lot of good shows. HOWEVER, I just endured Mamma Mia last night. In the third act the volume was cranked until they were blowing out the speakers. Just ridiculously loud. (The actual performance was also not up to the usual Broadway is Spokane standards, but that isn't exactly a venue issue.) But the absurdly loud volume was absolutely a venue issue. read more

This was not a well thought out design for shows as there is no middle isle making it super inconvenient if youre sitting anywhere in the middle, no back entrance into the theater and the seats aren't staggered so if the person in front of you is taller you'll be watching the show with someone's dome cutting the bottom half view. read more

I had such a pleasant experience here watching Trevor Noah. The surrounding area is beautiful. I hung out by the water until it was time to head in. There is a nice lounge downstairs where there are chairs and table to enjoy a cocktail/drinks before the show. It was easy to get in and out of the venue and was walking distance to a few hotels in the area. I would certainly come back for another event when I am in town. read more

FANTASTIC venue attracting WONDERFUL shows! We drove across the state to see Wicked and it was totally worth it! Even though we sat on the VERY top row, the audio quality was terrific. We couldn't make our facial expressions, but that's what you get in the cheap seats. TALENT- the actors were fantastic and musicians superb. VENUE- While it's built to comfortably accommodate many, many people the ratio of women to bathroom stalls is truly pitiful. Me, and hundreds of other gals, stood in lines wrapping around the hallway. read more

My husband and I came to Spokane to see Les Miserables after I had already seen it in Seattle and needed to see Nick Cartell play 24601 at least one more time before the tour concludes. (Seriously - if it's coming to your town, go see the show. Nick Cartell is the best Jean Valjean since Colm Wilkinson and Alfie Boe. I swear I felt God's comfort in my soul when he sang "Bring Him Home"). Anyway...what was I talking about? Oh yeah! First Interstate Center for the Arts. The theater is nice and modern with comfortable seats. Unfortunately, there seemed to be something going on with the acoustics that kind of dampened the orchestra which was kind of sad - that's one of the best parts of seeing a musical live! And there's so much going on in Les Mis within the orchestra if the acoustics are great (like the cymbal/gong imitating waves crashing against the boat in the very beginning scenes). The voices of the singers were not as good as they were in Seattle either, due to the acoustics, but it feels like the tech department got that sorted out because they were pretty good in the second half! Another thing that was extremely distracting was that, during certain points, that ushers brought in audience members who hadn't gotten in on time. They would shine the flashlights up the wall and it was SO DISTRACTING. One thing that I did like a lot was a designated place to wait for an Uber. Spokane is very walkable but I was in high heels for the first time since I had kids and I was not ready to walk even half a mile back to the hotel! I will always give this theater a try if a show that I want to see is in town but I prefer the 5th Avenue Theater in Seattle when that is an option. read more

Went there to see a comedy show and the security staff was VERY rude and unhelpful, and made us throw away our purses because of a very non obvious bag policy that is somewhere on the website. You can only bring in a 2"x2" purse or bag or if it's larger it has to be clear plastic (which I haven't had since 3rd grade when I had jellies). Don't bring anything, or buy anything if you see a show there. The layout of the place is wild, and I bumped into 65 different people on my way to my seat. I think they saved money on the architect or something, cause the human trafficking was super confusing. Also, the bathrooms are smaller than the bathroom in my studio apartment. This place is bad, even for downtown Spokane. read more

Saw Trevor Noah here a couple weeks ago. Trevor was great, this venue was a NIGHTMARE. Beware they inconsistently have a "no purses" policy. Apparently, this was stated in the ticket confirmation page, but we went back and looked at our confirmation email and actual tickets and it was not stated in either place. Who remembers what a confirmation page from 6+ months ago says?? The staff was not only unkind but incredibly unhelpful about the whole situation. We didn't have time to go back to our hotel to drop off my purse, so I LITERALLY HID IT IN A BUSH . The next irritating thing about this venue are the bathrooms. At least the one I used in the main lobby is full of blind corners and you have no way of knowing if stalls are available or not. Just such a poor layout and wastes so much time. read more

What's not to love? Parking. So here is the trick if you are brave enough. My conference was here, the Red Lion across the park, and in the Doubletree. I parked the van (not my personal vehicle) in the free Red Lion parking lot and put on a lot of miles on my shoes going back and forth through The park, even times when we all needed to be only at the INB. Walking through the park at night was a little scary to get back to the parking lot, but the path that I took was well lit and we all survived. It builds character. The actual INB building is lovely and held the 2,000 in our group without a problem. The security or ushers were very accommodating. I knew that a painting by Ken Spearing was in the other building, which on Wednesday late afternoon was locked. However, when I mentioned to the security that I'd like to see the painting, not more than 10 minutes later someone was giving me a private showing! What service! As I am a direct descendant of the person in the painting, I was thrilled! Currently, the new Davenport hotel is well into the construction phase with a skywalk across to the convention center. My group is scheduled back here again sometime in the future, and I can't wait! read more

I am staying at the doubletree next door and couldn't help but notice that Wicked was playing while I was on town. Tickets are always sold out in my hometown, Minneapolis and even though it was just me I thought I would stop by the ticket office to see if there were any tickets still available for tonight's show. Yay for me there was! I got a seat close to center in the terrace for under a $100 bucks. Tip for any shows, no fees when you buy tickets at the box office versus online. The guy that helped me mentioned they do a drawing at 5pm for a chance to win your ticket for $25. I had dinner plans so passed but next time in town I would try to make that work , that is an amazing deal for tickets near the stage! The venue is right next to the water and park, pretty view from the upper levels inside at night. Inside the space looks like a normal theater, I chose a spot in the terrace since the seats are stadium style so less risk of sitting behind a very tall person and not being able to see anything, I am pretty short so big plus. Had a great view of the show and they had great drink selections. I of course had to try the signature cocktail, the Wicked martini, which was tasty. I looked at past and upcoming shoes and the group who contracts shows to come I to down have really done a great job. Upcoming in August is Book of Mormon, looks like their new season is going to have some very well known shows coming to town. Keep up the good work! read more

Was in Spokane for mother's day weekend and saw Wicked was playing, and knew that would be amazing way to spend a Sat night with my mom. This review isn't about the play (BTW AMAZING!!!) is about the venue. My mom had a stroke when she was younger than I am now, so she is doesn't walk around that much and normally has a motorized scooter but on this outing we just had the travel wheelchair we were coming up to the venue from just leaving the park, when we just made it to the start of the building a man, named Chuck opened the door for us and let us in, mind you this was before the opening of any doors, but Chuck said come on ladies, let me see where your tickets are at, our luck they were straight across from where we were at, but it was ok. Once the doors opened Chuck showed me which way to go and off we went to get our seats. I have to say I love it when venues offer help to those who need it. And Chuck was an outstanding employee! Our seats were amazing not too far from the stage; I felt like a little kid going to the show with my mom, it was such a great time. The INB Performing Art Center is a great place, doesn't seem to have a bad seat in the house, I am 6ft tall and when seated there was plenty of leg room, I didn't feel squished at all. The restrooms were taken care of, didn't really have too long of a line. I really had a great time, if you can catch a show at INB Performing Art Center, you won't be disappointed. read more

My daughter and I went to see the mean girls musical last night and it was really so much fun, the actors were all amazing. The drinks and snacks offered were to be expected, we got there early so we had time. The intermission is where lots of people had a difficult time, it was only 15 minutes for hundreds of people, the lines for the bathrooms and snacks were at least 60 people long, now I'm not very good at math but I know 15 minutes is not enough time for that, not only did you have to choose which one you needed more but I witnessed several people at the ends of lines give up and go back to their seats without either... it was like a scene from the titanic. I stayed to used the restroom, which meant I had to go back to my seat while the actors had already started performing and I felt like a jackass trying to get passed everyone and to my seat. I believe if they had just made the intermission 30 minutes this would've alleviated everyone's pain. read more

The first interstate Center for the arts is a very nice venue. The problem is when you purchase the best of Broadway series. Which cost a lot of money. If you have a problem with the tickets and call them they never call you back. We called many times, And no one ever called us back. Very poor customer service for people who pay a lot of money for season tickets. read more

I saw Wicked here back in May 2011, and really thought this was a beautiful venue!! It's clean, in a nice location downtown, I love the convenient big parking lot directly across the street. A Chili's Restaurant next door within walking distance. I would definitely come back here again for another event in a heart beat! read more

What can I say we had orchestra seats at Phantom of the Opera. We had an amazing time! The only issue I feel is that they need more bathroom space on second level during admission time as there as huge line at the woman's bathroom that you had to be late to the second act if you did not get there immediately. Amazing quality sound, seats were comfortable, not a bad seat in the house. Could use more bathrooms though! We saw Wicked on Mothers Day and it was a beautiful venue! East to find, parking near by, seating was easy to navigate and it was great that when walking in front of people to get to your seat there is precisely enough room to walk without stepping on toes! After going through a large renovation project, the INB (or rather First Interstate now...) is better than ever! Beautiful artwork in the lobby, more restrooms, and better sound. But, it still has the same charm and design as before. I love coming here for the Best of Broadway shows. read more

Came here with the family to see Spamalot. The venue is nice, big and clean, which is all you can really ask for in a place like this. I would have preferred to take my drink inside, but it's understandable why you can't. The location is very close to downtown Spokane, which is great for those looking for something to do after your show. Unfortunately, the closest parking is a sea of pay to park lots. read more

This low review grade is for INB using thrid-party ticket sellers without monitoring their performance or ensuring that their (INB's) customers get the tickets they pay for. I ordered tickets (the highest priced ones available) for the Mark Twain show for my wife and I to celebrate our anniversary. Ticketswest never sent the email confirmation/tickets even though they charged our credit card. Multiple calls to Ticketswest siad they couldn't find our reservation though they could see the charges to our credit card - twice they said they'd refer it to their Customer Service department and that we'd get a call; we didn't. A call to INB told me that I could only deal with TIcketswest, that INB couldn't help me. So here we are, the night of the show and our anniversary, sitting at home instead of celebrating at INB. INB - you need to police your vendors, or take the responsibility to correct their problems. read more
