Spokane's best theater! I've had the privilege of seeing multiple shows here from The Nutcracker ballet to Comedy Shows to the Spokane Symphony. The staff are the nicest. The venue itself is smaller but gorgeous with the most amazing interior decor. You can't go wrong with seats on the floor or in the balcony (I've sat in all levels). The venue does offer a small menu of beverages and food depending on the show but I recommend hitting up Gilded Unicorn if you're looking for a spot before the show. read more

In town to see a comedy show on a Friday night. We had a great time! Our orchestra seating was roomy, the interior of the theatre is gorgeous art-deco. All the different staff we encountered were delightful: friendly ushers, efficient door security, organized coat check, quick bartenders. We didn't have any food, just drinks, but we could see they had basic concession snacks. Arrive early and look around, it's lovely. read more

Great theater in downtown Spokane! Always have a good experience coming here...parking is easy to find and restaurants and bars are nearby for pre or post show drinks or food. Seating can be a little tight in the winter when you have big coats and didn't see any sort of coat check. Three bars set up inside offering drinks and snack before shows and during intermission. Overall a venue we enjoy visiting. Staff are always kind and helpful. read more

A nice old theater. No seats are too bad, though as you get up in there balcony, people on the stage can be a bit small. They sell some snacks, beer, wine, etc. Seating is pretty tight, not sure how well it works for people with long legs. read more

Beautiful theater, however, I don't think I've ever been so uncomfortable in any venue. I'm not a giant. I'm only 6'1", but no matter how far back I sat my knees were jammed into the seat in front of me. It was also incredibly awkward getting past other people to get to our seats. For the prices they charge for seats...maybe they could take out a few rows and make it comfortable for grown men. read more

I absolutely love coming to events at this historic theater. The decor always to event. The venue hosts a variety of events from music to plays to the symphony. The staff is always kind and patient and drinks and small appetizers are offered at most events. We came to see a screening of Christmas Vacation. Very wonderful historical building on the inside. Impressive in art deco design. Good sound. A great place to see Spokane Symphony perform.

Absolutely gorgeous venue. Attended a matinee concert celebrating the Moon Landing. Great acoustics, I was in the loge/balcony and enjoyed the sound quality immensely. Drawbacks: the seating is awfully cramped. I have a 28" inseam and had no legroom. Holst's Planets was on the second part of the bill and by "Saturn" I was so uncomfortable I lost interest in the concert and occupied myself keeping my legs from going to sleep. The bathrooms are not suited to the venue size, almost always a problem in theaters like this. There is nowhere to park downtown so I advise you Uber/Lyft to avoid walking the trail of tears in that neighborhood. Loved the look and sound of the place but have to think hard about the genuine discomfort of the seating before returning. read more

Incredible. First, the beauty and sheer opulence of the facility boggles the mind. It's really up there with the Historic Davenport in terms of jaw-dropping period restoration. Next, acoustics are incredible. I saw a string band performance here and there wasn't a missed note; music flowing clean and pure from all directions. Seating is highly comfortable for this type of venue. A decent amount of leg-room (a bit cramped for this over six footer), and hard backed chairs that don't jostle when kneed from behind. Plenty of cushion. Handicapped seating is available with tons of room and open chairs still within good view of the stage. Staff were friendly and professional. The vibe is a bit stiff for my taste, a bit more museum-like then I care for, but such is the state of "fine art" and this style has its merits. Bathroom facilities are on the weak side. The show I saw was perhaps 70% full but the run on the women's rooms in particular was intense. I'd suggest a good pee beforehand and a patient temperament during intermission. On the plus side, they have a dedicated family restroom, but this too will be full during peak times so be forewarned oh parents and caregivers! Show prices are downright reasonable IMO given the venue. Parking is not ideal. You can pay for a ramp or try to find street parking. After dark the streets estentially belong to those who live there so it can be a bit dicey crossing past encampments, street toilets, debris, and homeless denizens with varying degrees of mental illness. In any case, hardly the Fox Theater's fault. read more

The architecture of this place is outstanding. You walk in and the Art Deco look of it all makes your jaw drop. I've been to two different symphony performances here. One which was a collab with Ben Folds a few years ago and one which combined the Spokane and Gonzaga symphonies. The acoustics were absolutely amazing. The seats were comfortable and the ushers were friendly. I cannot wait for my next visit! read more

This restored theatre is an amazing venue for downtown concerts in Spokane. The location is very simple to get to from in town and out of towners. I watched the Christmas show from the Brian Setzer Orchestra which was an amazing show, there's not real bad seats in the house. I don't know the full range of events that you can see at the Fox, but I will tell you this: it is a beautiful, dignified space. It simultaneously feels like a large hall and a cozy, personal venue. The decor is great, the ushers are helpful, and the seats are comfortable. Nothing less than breathtaking. We were here last New Year's Eve for the Spokane Symphony Orchestra's performance of Beethoven's 'Symphony No. 9'--the acoustics were rich, the ticket prices were a veritable steal, and the theatre architecture itself absolutely peerless. My partner is 6'4", broad-shouldered, and had few to no complaints about the leg room our seats afforded us--worth mentioning because, until that point, I believed a favorable reaction from him concerning seating was an impossibility. If you want to spend the night out feeling far more fancy than you are, I'd suggest catching the symphony. Moreover, I highly recommend dressing to the nines, pretending you know the difference between the wines on the menu, buying an overpriced cup and really leaning into it. read more

I love the Fox theater. The interior is incredibly gorgeous and there's really not a bad seat in the house. I've been here for musical events, a play, and several ballet performances and have loved the theater every time. The restoration has made the Fox one of those event locations you want to go to just to soak in the atmosphere while still enjoying all of our modern amentities. read more

I loved seeing the opera, Marriage of Figaro, here. My husband and I had a fun time dressing up and having a night on the town. The view and acoustics were great. Subtitles to the Italian opera. The aesthetics are detailed and ornate. What you would expect at an old performance theater. I would love to go back for another opera. Next time, I'll splurge for the balcony seats, much better view. Food available for purchase was lame, like Lays chips snack bags, candy, and cheap coffee. Also, an end time would be helpful. I had no idea the opera was 4 hours long. It was never posted anywhere, not even during the actual show. That's my only criticism. read more

This is one of the most beautiful spaces I have ever been in. Art Deco gorgeousness for days! It is a true must see in downtown Spokane. I was lucky enough to perform in Tosca at this theater fresh after renovations. It is beautiful! The art deco is truly inspiring and the theater brings you back to a grander time. The renovations are marvelous. The sound quality in the theater is beautiful. I highly recommend seeing a show here if you have the chance. If you are a performer, this theater is beautiful and fairly easy to work in. With tables set up, the backstage was a little cramped for the choir, but the PA system is clear and the dressing rooms are large. I always think it is fun to perform in a historic theater as well! read more

What a treasured, nostaligic piece of art this theatre is. I'm serious...this is the most gorgeous theatre in Spokane. The ceiling, the symphony stage, the incredible architecture of the building..I've attended for graduations, for events and my favorite event the Halloween at Hogwarts situation. This is our absolute favorite place to see live music. Portland has nothing on Spokane! This little theater is intimate and lovely. You feel like you are sitting in someone's living room. The staff is always so friendly and they get some great artists there. It is family friendly, too. My daughter has been introduced to people that my husband and I grew up with. I have been in a number of Theaters and performance arts locations in my life and the Fox Theater does look very very nice. It has retained its amazing acoustics as I was in town for concert and I was able to perfectly hear everything during the band's unplugged portion even sitting in the balcony. The architecture can definitely be dated because there is an "lounge" area in between the foyer and stairs area on the first floor and the auditorium, you do not see those anymore due to theaters wanting to maximize seating. And the drinks inside were not even bad at all, I had a beer and a bottle of water for mere dollars I remember some places charging me $5 for a bottle of water but it could just be Spokane. Unfortunately, the Fox Theater's recent renovation makes it seem too new, yes the bare bone architecture is magnificent but the glossy paint and the new modern touches really cover up some of the things that would make this place really standout even more, see The Music Hall in Plymouth, NH for truly amazing theater renovation. The only other complaints are that the seats are really really small, I m 5'11" fairly built guy and my knees were hurting as I pretty packed in there sitting for 2 1/2 hours. The usher directed me to the wrong seat and I had to get up and move after I had gotten settle down with a friend, totally not cool. read more

Management wont respond to emails. Located in not-the-best part of town, but you cannot carry weapon of any kind, even if off-duty cop, or concealed permit. I guess just cross your fingers you dont get mugged walking 7 blocks to your car at midnight. Other than that, the Venue itself is Amazing, comfortable, and fun. I saw the Nutcracker tonight at The Fox theater. It was a fantastic ballet and live music in Spokane ! I love bringing my children to the Nutcracker. It makes for a nice quality time.
