They were nice on the phone, stated they would charge us a tech call fee to come out and determine what the issue was which is understandable. They stated after they figure out what the problem is, they would apply the $125 service call to the bill if we moved forward with the repairs. After the service guy came out, which he was very nice and knowledgeable, he stated it was the 2 small switches in front and our transformer underneath. Stated it was $680 - $125 for everything. We agreed but they stated they had to order the parts and they would come back the following week around Tuesday. Tuesday came and we did not hear from them. I called them on Wednesday and they stated the parts came in and would have someone call me. Again, another day went by and no one called. I had to call back in where they told me they could not come out until Tuesday or Wednesday of the following week and would put us on the 1st stop at 8am. We scheduled for Tuesday. 8:20am came by and no word. I called and asked if someone was coming and the lady stated the service guy had to stop by the parts store to pickup the parts and then would head our way. The guy finally showed up at 8:45am. Mind you, I was advised the previous week by 2 people the parts were in and they already had them on hand. After the service guy installed the 2 switches which took about 10 -15 min, he started on the transformer. After we swapped out the transformer, he proceeded to advise us that it was not the transformer but most likely something with the internal wiring and they would have to pull the built in fridge out and start to tear things apart to find out where the break in the wire was bad. We did not want to spend the money on that. They ended up billing us $400 for 2 switches. I spoke to the manager and he stated they don't charge by the hour, just what the billing time states for the parts. I asked him for a breakdown of labor and parts and he stated they don't do invoices that way. I would assume it is THEIR way of covering all the labor they did on our fridge for something that did not need to be replaced which they misdiagnosed from the beginning. Now, here comes more horrible service: I looked under the fridge to see how things were put back as I had a bad feeling after what they did on the above. The service guy only put 1 screw back on to hold the cover plate. He did not put the other 2 screws on. After I took the cover plate off, the service guy did not put the transformer cover back on as well. He shoved it back under the fridge and put all the screws under the fridge laying on the ground. Every time you call this place, they asked you how they can put a smile on your face. What a joke. I would never use this company nor recommend them. They did not finish the job and wasted our time/money.

To make matters worse, they said they couldn't turn the system back on and that we might have to wait until Monday for a full system replacement. This all happened on the Wednesday before the Fourth of July, with temperatures well into the triple digits. We have five kids and two dogs, and the thought of going several days without air conditioning was overwhelming. Thankfully, we decided to get a second opinion and called Airtime Cooling & Heating. Jacob came out, started his own evaluation without us telling him what the first company had diagnosed, and quickly impressed us. He simply turned the system back on, ran his own diagnostics, and gave us his honest opinion. His conclusion was completely different--our system did not need to be replaced. Not only did he get our AC running again, but he also took the time to explain what he believed had happened, what to watch for if it occurred again, and even walked us through how to troubleshoot it ourselves. That kind of honesty, education, and customer service is incredibly rare. Instead of facing what could have been a very expensive and unnecessary replacement, we paid for a diagnostic visit, got our AC back, and gained confidence in our system. Because of this experience, we've switched from our previous HVAC company to Airtime Cooling & Heating for all of our future maintenance and service. If Jacob is any indication of the quality of their technicians, they have earned a customer for life. Jacob was truly a 10 out of 10. They were honest and upstanding and I recommended them to EVERYONE. That Angel Air is GONE. The last 3 years in a row we were on a contract, and every single time they came by to service our units, something would break the next day. I let it go the first and second time, thinking maybe it was just a fluke. Then we had them inspect a unit in a house we were looking at buying. After the inspection the AC at THAT house also broke. We found that the tech had TAPED the sides back on the air control box instead of using the screws, and the tape had come off, causing the side to fall into the attic and the AC to stop working. This was the final straw and we cancelled the annual service. They have shoddy workmanship, and they do not stand behind it. Finally, a capacitor failed on my fan motor. I checked the invoices and they had replaced it exactly one year prior, so it was still under warranty. I was already done working with them because of the previous poor service, but realizing that this SHOULD be a free replacement for a part under warranty, I gave them one final call. They flat out refused to come look at the part without charging me for a full service call. They refused all offers of me bringing them the failed part to swap for a working one. Everything that used to make this company a 5 star business is gone. They are greedy, corrupt, miserly, and they do not stand behind their parts or service. As a former long term customer, I urge you to avoid them at all costs.

Upfront, they wanted $89 for diagnostic/trip charge and WILL NOT waive the charge If you end up going with them. When the guy got there, he said the fuses are out. So before any diagnostic, he needs to replace a fuses and repair some wires which is like $260. After that he It says he needs to install a hard start capacitor kit $400 or the unit won't start. So looking like $775 total. At that point, I felt that these prices are a bit on the high side. Hard start kit is like $50 in materials and 3 wires to hookup. I know this well cuz I repair my own AC at my own house. I called the office and they suddenly said the hard start kit was optional. Not sure if it's just me or these guys are on the pricier side.
