ALFRED BIRNHAUPL (AC leak repair) - Fixed pipe leak from AC and completed comprehensive assessment of our dysfunctional zoning system. DOMENICK ALONGE (project manager) - Reviewed findings from Alfred, provided detailed indication of issues and resolution options with several quotes. Here's why our experience has been superior to previous companies: All three specialists were not only punctual, friendly, and courteous, but they took their time to evaluate our issues in CLEAR layman terms corroborated by photos, and showing us exactly where the problems were in person. We previously obtained a quote from a large corporate company and was left feeling dumbfounded and stressed as they described the nature of our problem in engineering, technical jargon that made absolutely no sense, including astronomical quotes without explanation of the work entailed. We continued experiencing intermittent issues with our AC and heater so we called Friends & Family based on their excellent reviews. This time around, with Friends & Family, we left feeling knowledgeable and reassured, with reasonable quotes including various discount eligibility. We didn't feel pressured by them to choose one route vs. the other; rather, gained the information we needed to make an informed decision that would prevent such issues in the future. Overall, their attention to detail, ability to explain the issues and resolution routes in simple, concrete terms, were far superior than the preceding company. They exceeded our expectations and we much appreciated their patience and openness to answering all our questions. I also want to mention that I was gardening when SEAN was fixing our AC. He saw me struggling to dig a hole for my plant and volitionally offered to help me. He took the extra time to dig the hole for me, exemplifying his genuine kindness and generosity! Similarly, my kids were running amuck and screaming and shouting while I attempted to maintain a conversation with ALFRED. He was very understanding and continued to engage in conversation, appearing unbothered by the chaos with a pleasant disposition. Lastly, DOMENICK was appointed on the day of our son's birthday. He related to us interpersonally and even helped assemble my son's new Radio Flyer bike! I told him that Sean also helped me garden and we laughed about how Friends & Family is a "one-stop shop." Given everything I mentioned, we're excited to have our overdue AC/heater system fully repaired by Friends & Family. A neighbor gave my grandma the number for Haven A/C and she called herself. Donna was so sweet to her and patiently walked her through turning her thermostat off and on and replacing the batteries. And it worked! The thermostat just needed a new battery! Donna saved the day, and possibly even my grandmother's life, it gets hot and she needs that A/C working. I heard a POP-POP and the system went down. One shot in the plenum, one in the coil. They installed a democratically elected ruler of indoor comfort that is committed to equal airflow for all rooms. HVAC gone rogue? You could do worse than to get an estimate from The N-Gen. We'll keep them on speed dial while keeping their last names private in the review photos. They liberated our home from uncertain climate control. These service-minded mercs didn't even require us to pay the invoice in crypto. Hooyah. I love me some monthly payments in USD. Believe.

Their technicians fled our house before we could talk with them about it. Story - Our AC unit started not working and they were quick to arrive and investigate the situation. However, the first technician they sent out thought it was a problem with just cleaning the dust on our blower. Turned out it still didn't work properly after running it later that night - in fact our house got hotter. The same technician came back out the next day after we called NexGen and we found out he had forgotten to plug a wire back in for the condenser on our AC unit - this is a lack of professionalism and care in the work performed. Our AC unit then would only work for about 2-3 hours. We called NexGen to come back out and look at the issue again with a different technician who told us instead we needed a brand new furnace. The next day our furnace was installed, but during the installation, the technicians damaged our ceiling and tore paint off from the ceiling. They tried to glue parts of our ceiling back and it was done so poorly. They even left glue on our walls still. When my wife and I saw the damage done to our ceiling they had already left. I have been trying to get a hold of NexGen since they left and nobody has returned my call for the last 4 days since our installation. The lack of quality of service and attention to detail is embarrassing. The technicians they sent out were also talking loudly about how new they were to the Company - makes sense as to how much of a shoddy job they did.

Kirk was FANTASTIC! Our unit is 20 years old, we have never really had regular maintenance on it. He showed up super early (they asked if that was okay, and YES thank you). Before he arrived they sent a text with his name and photo. I absolutely love this! That extra safety is so important. Kirk looked at our unit and asked some questions. He explained all they do with the "family plan" so we signed up. I am one of those that needs to be reminded of scheduled upkeep so this is perfect. He gave us the estimate before he started and I asked for a very rough estimate of a new unit (having no idea) so we decided to go with repair and hope for the best. The repair wasn't cheap but considering all the work that needed to be done as well as it being an older unit, I feel it was a very fair price. I think we did have the best with Kirk. He was able to repair our unit and give it some much needed TLC for our AC unit and furnace. He even installed our pre-purchased thermostat! Kirk was polite and considerate. He took time to answer all of our questions and ensured us that we could reach out with any questions, I believe him. Service people can often be rushed, there is a lot of work out there, but not Kirk. He didn't waste time either, I felt like he was in and out in no time at all. By the time he left we understood all that was done and what we need to do to get some additional service from our current unit. I could not be happier with the call I made this morning. I asked Javier the Tech how much the labor would be. He said, $250 per hour. Since he was here And needed the work done, so I said go ahead. He changed out a capacitor, a $60 Part, and changed out a wire on the second unit. He was done in 1hr and 15 minutes. When I asked him how much I owed He said $890. I was shocked. I am trusting sole who believes people are good. This company is not GOOD, no estimate, no receipt. I will get over it. I can only imagine what they do to others. Try Fallbrook Heating and Air. The 2nd unit I mentioned had a capacitor go out 2 1/2 months later. 1 hr labor, clean work. $389. Their gouging is between them and God. Like the old saying goes, what goes around comes around.​

I called All City Plumbing the next morning at like 9am and they were able to schedule me in a time slot from 10am-12pm. Something interesting about this company is they use an AI virtual assistant that sounds like an actual human it's kind of creepy but "she" helped me pretty quickly unlike other virtual assistants. I ended up receiving a call around 9:30 letting me know that unfortunately my time I booked was no longer available and the next time was at 11am-1pm, I of course was willing to accept the time change since we only have the 1 toilet in the house My plumber arrived around 12:50pm (very timely) and was very friendly and assessed the situation ‍ He ended up telling us he needed to grab a tool at Home Depot down the street so he left and came back and finished up his work. Thankfully it was a relatively quick fix with his total time spent with us being 2 hours. We are so happy that he was able to resolve our toilet troubles and give us peace of mind. The price was also very very reasonable, I've never hired a plumber before so I was expecting something crazy but this was affordable Very easy to work with, I highly recommend them!

She scheduled us for the first available appointment at 8:00 a.m. the very next morning. Our technician, Alexis, arrived on time and was incredibly respectful and professional. He walked through the issue with my brother and father, performed a thorough assessment, and clearly explained exactly what was causing the problem. After a brief conversation with my brother, it was obvious that Alexis and All City Plumbing were the company we wanted to trust with the repair. Alexis was extremely knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything he was doing. He even showed us, using a camera scope, that our pipes were clear and free of tree roots. That gave us tremendous peace of mind and ended up saving us a lot of money by avoiding unnecessary work. The quality of service, honesty, and professionalism were outstanding. We had some issues with the condensate line draining after the new install but they were very responsive in trying to get everything working with their busy schedules. Their prices are super competitive and this was what made us go with their service in the first place. Graciously, he took my feedback of asking his team to leave voicemails (or text) to help resolve some of the miscommunication. Thankfully Frankie and Edwin were able to squeeze us back in this afternoon and completed the scheduled work. They were incredibly pleasant, apologetic and kind. We have a couple of visits left for the HERS inspection (along with Rebel Air staff) and the City inspection. Looking forward to a hopefully smooth closeout to this project. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I hate to leave this review, because everything had initially gone very well with our project. We spent well over $20k to do ductwork, put in a new HVAC system in and add a mini split. The initial visit with Johnny was wonderful and he did a great job explaining the work and provided a competitive quote compared the other estimates we received. He also provided great recommendations on additional registers/vents to balance out our airflow. Those were installed, but instead of the additional vent he originally suggested in our west-facing living room, one was added in the kitchen, making the kitchen very cold but the living room very warm. The work took longer than the original 5 days planned (about 7-8 days), but they did a great job cleaning up after. This was in March 2026. It is now July 2026. During the initial estimate, Johnny had indicated that they were happy to come by to adjust dampers as needed, and Vincent was very helpful with that although advised that we need to rotate the TDuct feeding into the kitchen/living room to better balance the airflow. The work wasn't done correctly to begin with, but we are ok with that solution if it helps the situation. When the HERS inspectors came to help finalize the City permit in April, they noted that none of the caulking was done. This morning we had an appointment from 8-10am to do the caulking and rotate the TDuct that I am taking time off of work to do. I called in past 9am to get a status update but I'm told a representative (Edwin) knocked and called but left when no one answered. I was in the back doing a bit of yardwork with my phone on me - several calls, including spam came in, but no voicemails. No videos from our doorbell or cameras out front show anyone coming to the door or up the walkway. I have texted Andrea to get a status update or reschedule and am waiting to hear back. Given that the initial interaction was positive, I hope that this is a fluke and a dropped ball with the miscommunication this morning and not a lack of interest on Rebel Air's part since they have already been fully paid. I hope to finalize this project soon and finish the permit with the City.
