I am so grateful to this company. They came in and cleaned up a huge mess left by another contractor. I Cannot say enough about how honest these people are. Ivan came in on a super hot day. He inspected my A/C and heating system and immediately pointed out the issues the other company left us and caused the A/C to stop working. We received his estimate promptly, followed by a text and call. That's when you know they are really on top of things. He promised to send it over at night, he did it. His price is the most reasonable among the 4 companies who sent us the quotes and this is with Trane, not any unknown brand. The estimate is itemized, with make and model number, and lines of the work they would do. Unexpectedly Nice and neat. The crew did a beautiful job too. They were on time, respectful , and super clean. It was not easy cleaning up the big mess that the other Costco contractor left us, but these guys spent all the efforts and extra time to make things right. I would give 0 stars if that were an option. Brandon came out during an extreme heat wave in which caused our AC to go out. My husband had a feeling of what may have caused it but unfortunately was out of town on business when this happened so he couldn't check it. I along with my 2 young children were desperate so my husband called First Response to come out and diagnose our problem. Brandon came and seemed very friendly and honest however evil has many faces. He showed up and checked our unit and gave us 3 options: 1 - fixing the compressor for $9,700, 2 - new unit $12,000, option 3 - new unit $14,000. The stress this caused on my husband and I was absolutely overwhelming! Obviously desperate with 2 small children in a home which was up to 90 degrees at this point we stressed about how we would come up with such money. The stress about this was so overwhelming I decided to reach out to an old family friend (who works in commercial AC and which I felt bad to do but again - I was desperate). He was so kind and said he didn't trust that we needed a new unit and volunteered to come check it out the following day. THANK GOD! That night I spent $550 on a portable AC unit which I had to figure out how to install on my own just to make the house livable. The temps outside reached 102. The following day the old family friend came and diagnosed the problem in 2 minutes and it ended up being THE MOST COMMON PROBLEM in AC units. The capacitor. The FIRST thing they train AC techs on. The MOST LIKELY to go out in a heat wave! He stressed how much this is happening in the residential AC sector and how more people need to expose these companies for fraud, and how it's making all AC companies look bad! ... So this company tried to sell us on a new AC unit when all we needed was a $30 part!!!! I can't stress this enough .. this company is CORRUPT! They will take advantage of you! Avoid at all costs!! We reached out to Ivan the owner in hopes he would do the right thing and at least refund our diagnosis fee of $85 and they will not respond to our calls/texts. Clearly can't even do the right thing when they know they are in the wrong. Currently disputing the charge with our bank. read more

When there's a heat wave, the last thing you want to hear from your spouse is "our A/C stopped working!" Especially in a two-story house that heats up quickly, it can get pretty uncomfortable. Eager to find someone who could come on the same day, we called around and landed on First Response Air Conditioning. They said then could send someone same day but it would be sometime between 4-6p, which worked perfectly for us. There is an $85 diagnostic fee, but if you remember to mention (I didn't unfortunately!), they have a coupon on their website that waives that fee for your first time using them. I got a text and phone call from the technician, Jody R., who let us know he was en route. He showed up and immediately jumped in to diagnose the situation. He was friendly, explained clearly to my husband what our potential issues may be, and then jumped in to identify the problem (it was our compressor!). He fixed it quickly and efficiently and within no time, we were feeling the cool breezes from fully functioning A/C. Called First Response Air regarding my T-Stat from the initial contact customer service was upmost! I was able to speak to Technician within an hour of my request! Brandon explain of possible issues that could be causing trouble, which honestly I didn't expect this type of quick response being that it's very hot, I expected them to be extremely busy, set up appointment for next day Brandon was timely, as soon as he saw my T-Stat he assessed problem and fixed it, I then asked for system tune up which he did! Brandon arrived and diagnosed the problem with the capacitor (which he replaced) and the electric motor which he had to obtain. Ivan came back out the next day with a generic electric motor (the OEM was backordered) which required some rewiring to install. First Response was VERY quick to respond and came out the very next morning after I texted them. Matt was on schedule and very friendly and quick. He brought shoe covers/booties as to not dirty my floors. My only complaint is regarding what I paid (please take this with a grain of salt as I realize labor these days is quite expensive): 1. As someone who knows nothing about ac units and most handy work in general, I did not know I had to change out my filter (that's my own mistake). I thought I had a much bigger issue which was causing a leak from the emergency line (pipe), but turns out it was just because I needed to change out my filter. That cost me $295. He did say he would take 30 minutes to blast/clean my lines with nitrogen, but it only took 5 minutes because there wasn't an issue at all with my lines, they were working fine and were doing what they were supposed to be doing. Still cost me $295. 2. He told me he would "throw in" changing my filter and cleaning my coils in that $295 fee. However, bc I did not have a hose spout at the front of my condo where my AC unit was, he was unable to clean my coils, and therefore decided to knock $40 off. So my total was $255 to change my filter and clean my line for 5 minutes. 3. When they initially called me, they told me it would be $65 just for the diagnosis and visit which I agreed to. So that means it cost me $190 to change my filter and to "clean my lines." Now when I asked him how bad were the lines, he said they weren't clogged or bad. When I asked if I even needed them cleaned, he gave me a mix of answers. At one point he said yes, and another point he said not really because the issue was my filter. When I stated "oh gosh I feel like I basically am paying $295 to just have my filter changed," he just shrugged his shoulders, which indicates to me he knows deep down inside that I am paying WAY too much (which is also why I think he knocked $40 off because he couldn't clean my coils). I totally understand that these repairmen work on an hourly basis and they had to make the trip to my house and assess the situation and get paid but at the end of the day I wish they were a bit more fair with the price, than what I feel like was taking advantage of a girl who doesn't really know any better than pay $255 for her filter to be changed. I'm still giving them 4 stars because they were punctual and did the work. read more

They sure did respond very quickly to when I called and asked if they could come look at my AC that had just stopped working. They came next day (not same day bc I called at 6pm) and found the issue right away. They worked with my warranty on the system to get the part free of cost, and were very fair on the labor charges. They showed me some other things I also needed to get done to make sure my system would be on top shape! If I had any constructive feedback is that sometimes they'd say "I'll follow up by X, and wouldn't get back to me" so I did have to do a bit of chasing. Great job Matt showed up only two days after I reported the problem whereas other companies could only come 5 to 12 days later, which was greatly appreciated considering the heat wave that we were having.
