UPDATE: Johnny called a few minutes after the review and he advised that his staff were in the middle of other jobs and couldn't respond to me earlier (I will say Johnny is very responsive and has been throughout this project). Graciously, he took my feedback of asking his team to leave voicemails (or text) to help resolve some of the miscommunication. Thankfully Frankie and Edwin were able to squeeze us back in this afternoon and completed the scheduled work. They were incredibly pleasant, apologetic and kind. We have a couple of visits left for the HERS inspection (along with Rebel Air staff) and the City inspection. Looking forward to a hopefully smooth closeout to this project. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I hate to leave this review, because everything had initially gone very well with our project. We spent well over $20k to do ductwork, put in a new HVAC system in and add a mini split. The initial visit with Johnny was wonderful and he did a great job explaining the work and provided a competitive quote compared the other estimates we received. He also provided great recommendations on additional registers/vents to balance out our airflow. Those were installed, but instead of the additional vent he originally suggested in our west-facing living room, one was added in the kitchen, making the kitchen very cold but the living room very warm. The work took longer than the original 5 days planned (about 7-8 days), but they did a great job cleaning up after. This was in March 2026. It is now July 2026. During the initial estimate, Johnny had indicated that they were happy to come by to adjust dampers as needed, and Vincent was very helpful with that although advised that we need to rotate the TDuct feeding into the kitchen/living room to better balance the airflow. The work wasn't done correctly to begin with, but we are ok with that solution if it helps the situation. When the HERS inspectors came to help finalize the City permit in April, they noted that none of the caulking was done. This morning we had an appointment from 8-10am to do the caulking and rotate the TDuct that I am taking time off of work to do. I called in past 9am to get a status update but I'm told a representative (Edwin) knocked and called but left when no one answered. I was in the back doing a bit of yardwork with my phone on me - several calls, including spam came in, but no voicemails. No videos from our doorbell or cameras out front show anyone coming to the door or up the walkway. I have texted Andrea to get a status update or reschedule and am waiting to hear back. Given that the initial interaction was positive, I hope that this is a fluke and a dropped ball with the miscommunication this morning and not a lack of interest on Rebel Air's part since they have already been fully paid. I hope to finalize this project soon and finish the permit with the City. read more

Our condenser unit broke due to old age and we were able to get Rebel Air to replace everything within 5 days! They did a great job removing the existing units, cleaning up after themselves and communicating with us throughout the process. We had some issues with the condensate line draining after the new install but they were very responsive in trying to get everything working with their busy schedules. Their prices are super competitive and this was what made us go with their service in the first place. Another great experience working with Rebel Air! They helped us last winter with repairing our furnace and this time, right before a June heatwave our AC stopped cooling. I immediately reached out to Johnny and he sent a tech over to our house same day. The original diagnosis/quote was to repair our condenser leak which was still under warranty, however after more discussion about our home's uneven cooling (always warmer upstairs than downstairs) and overall discomfort that we've lived with for many years, we decided to take the plunge and do a full redesign project: brand new condenser (much quieter and more efficient), relocate the furnace/blower to the attic and all new ducting. They got to work the day after I signed the contract and less than a week later, we have our AC back and the upstairs is feeling great! I have used them before, but I'm wanting to do a more specified review because I do feel they went above and beyond, which makes me a very happy/returning customer. Johnny came to my home on Father's Day after I called him the night before. He was genial, efficient, and early. WOW! You call and you get an immediate response; this doesn't always happen with other companies (esp. on holiday weekends) -- trust me, I've done the leg work. Christian came out the next day because I was continuing to have issues, which meant I needed a new thermostat. I would like to make a positive notation about Johnny regarding him not replacing the thermostat day one-- he wasn't looking to bilk me into something new if what I had was going to continue working. I appreciate that! Both Johnny and Christian went above and beyond what I would ever expect from an HVAC company -- they both taught me about my system and then Christian suggested I make some changes in where my furniture was placed to raise the efficiency of the intake area. To be honest, I was pretty blown away by the level of care -- this just hasn't happened before. My husband did all the research and found Rebel air to install a new a/c and heating system for my sister's condo in August 2022. Sorry Rebel Air that it took me a year to write this review! Rebel Air deserves my highly recommended five star plus review! Be sure to talk to Johnny--he makes sure the job gets done and that it gets done right! Why go with Rebel Air: Great communication, clean and knowledgeable install work, professional, excellent customer service, kind, respectful, reasonably priced, good follow up to make sure everything was done correctly and working properly. There were a lot of moving pieces to this project, including sticking to a schedule so we could coordinate with the HOA for roof access, arranging for the crane to arrive on schedule (crane was needed to remove the old and replace the new a/c unit on the roof of a three story condo building), and doing their best to not impose on us and surrounding condo owners. HOA also needed an insurance certificate, which Rebel Air provided quickly. Then, fast forward July 2023 in the midst of heat wave temperatures, a/c stops blowing cool air. A late pm call to Johnny and he said he would have someone out next day. AC (under warranty) had to be replaced and another crane scheduled (also covered under warranty), and more hassles for us dealing with the HOA. While we waited for the new AC unit to be available, Rebel delivered a portable cooling unit to the condo. Replacement was done quickly and the worker (Daniel?) was so kind and patient when dealing with my sister who was super anxious about the whole ordeal. The owner, Johnny, came to look at my system and straight up said i needed to replace. He gave me a quote that nobody else could compete.. I sent his quote to people who live and breathe HVAC and they said it's good! on top of that, he gives us 5 year labor warranty. I opted to go with a different brand than what he recommended due to my personal preference, and his revised quote was still competitive. His crew came early the day of service. Rebel Air is a fantastic HVAC company. Johnny, the owner, was super friendly, knowledgeable, and provided a very affordable estimate on the replacement cost of our entire HVAC system. He replaced our 23 year old AC/furnace system with a new inverter heat pump system in a single visit, super fast and thorough throughout the entire install. His estimate included dampers too, which help even out the airflow of the system throughout our entire house due to certain rooms which had prior low air flow out of the vents. His workers were on time, explained the whole installation process, and were very conscious on keeping our house clean (wore shoe booties, laid down flooring protection, etc.) to keep from dirtying and damaging our expensive hardwood flooring. The new system works amazing, is more energy efficient, and is a huge improvement over our old outdated AC system. We found Rebel Air to be a breath of fresh air. Very competitive and quick to respond for in person estimates and quotes. We were project coordinating for my sister in laws third floor condo heat/air. We got competitive quotes and went with Rebel. Johnny G was the face and contact of Rebel Air. Project started on time even with a few logistical snafus. The building Mgr would not allow use of the roof portal. Had to use a crane and Rebel handled that with minimal costs. The interior installation for the air handler and ecoils required removing a good deal of drywall from the ceiling. Fortunately Johnny had a good reference for the repair, texture and repaint. Not sure why it surprises me anymore - but, I call to hand them a job. Called them directly, didn't even shop around. They tell me when they are going to arrive. Again, they tell me. I don't ask them to come on a certain day or time. They say "We'll be there Monday between 11 and 1". Then, don't show up. No call, nothing. I have changed my schedule around to be here for them. So, now I have to call and ask what's going on. "Our schedule got a little messed up, we'll be there maybe around 2 or 2:30". Unfortunately I don't know what that means. "Maybe". And, I just can't stick around and wait for them to "maybe" arrive. No apology or anything. I guess they have plenty of business, and a lot of positive feedback, so this is no big deal for them. But, still very disappointing, and still looking for someone who cares about customer service. read more

I used Rebel Air on a recommendation from my friend and the fence company I used to install my glass wall and aluminum fence, Alex Orozco at Irvine Fence. I highly trust Alex, so I gave Rebel Air a call for an quote on the job. Abraham and Johnny were responsive and thorough on the scope of work and what was needed and not needed. I was upfront that I was getting quotes or had already gotten quotes from Triton Air through Costco, Aliso Air, and True Home. All the companies were great. They all had their preferences in terms of products and opinions about whether or not I should or shouldn't keep my duct work. In the end I asked Rebel Air to provide me an apples to apples quote based on what Triton Air had provided me. Their quote was based on a Lennox system. Rebel Air had given me a quote based on Amana and I had not heard anything good about that product so I decided to stick with Lennox or carrier. They were able to provide me a price for the same exact setup as the Triton Air Costco quote for $4k less. That doesn't take into account the 15% Costco rebate card you get which would have been worth about $1,200. Regardless. Rebel Air knocked it out of the park when it came down to price. None of the other companies were able to match them. But for me, it's not just about price. I'm willing to pay more to get a better product and installation and company that stands behind their product. But with Rebel Air I was already getting that. When it came down to get started on the job, part of my unit was on back order. They were willing to do the install based on what they had but I said I'd wait to get everything, which was going to be about 6-8 weeks. And it was. They planned for it to be a 2-3 day job, but it took a 4th day. I'm glad they didn't rush the job. Gilbert and Gus were the installers. Just a couple of awesome guys. Really worked hard. Showed up on time. We're cool to be around and have in our home. They were cool about us getting them lunch a couple of the days too. They even asked how late they could work since the job was taking longer than expected because of the duct work. Our prior duct work was honestly a maze and a mess!! Those guys working in that mess and getting it to look like the photos you see is remarkable. Hats off to Gus and Gilbert! After the installation there were some things that needed to be done which Abraham sent to have taken care of. Like cleaning out the attic and calking the can lights. They had someone come to install the step ladder that goes into the attic which had to come off. The other companies made a big fuss about that and said they wouldn't touch it and I'd have to find someone to do that, and one other company had said they'd have to charge me for the removal and installation because they'd have to find someone to do it. So you see, Rebel Air was the right choice. The product. The installation. The warranty. The level of professionalism all makes them a far more superior company on a great footing to be a great value, at the same time offer the best solution for your HVAC needs. These guys are seriously amazing! After a botched job from a "family friend" to install our new Nest, I called Rebel Air and Johnny picked up right away within a few mins of their closing time. He said he can have someone come out the next day and Christian came to help us. He rewired the entire AC system and found out the issues of why the nest wasn't working. It took him maybe about an hour and a half to fix everything and he also walked me through each of the steps and issues he found. These guys are true professionals and experts at what they do.
