This company did a inspection on my heating and AC unit last month. The system 2yrs old, working great until their inspection. During the inspection, approximately 3+ hours, I noticed the unit display wasn't lighting up. I told the guy, he said the unit need to reset itself. After 2 weeks, the unit wasn't working properly. I called, left messages and finally got a text back. They would charge $50.00 to come back. The inspection was set up by the landlord son. I would not be paying, they would pay It's almost November. No word yet. I would think twice about using this company. How dare they charge fee for something they did. read more

Our 2 story home is from 1986 in Lake Forest, CA. We bought it in 1997. Summer temperatures then where in the 80's. We never had to use the AC. Now summer temperatures are 90-105. We started using the AC a few years ago. The lower part got some cold function. The second story, after hours of running! Never. I had 2 companies coming to find the reason, but they said all is ok working. We even had a new exchanger put in a few years ago. Still too hot upstairs to go to sleep. Putting windows ac's in EACH of he bedrooms did cool them finally. Now the ac exchanger gave up. I got 4 estimates. Everyone was different with what they want to do. Because the system can not be repaired with putting in a new exchanger. Although the heater is working well, all has to be updated to 5Tons. Standard was 4tons then. Because the builder wanted to save money. So a complete new full system with heater, AC AND all new ducting in the Attic. One was even offering that we can do the ducting ourself to save money. Even then their pricing was almost double then what JR's offer was. And JR's was with doing the ducting by his company! He is the owner! He came with his team which is all by family members! All the other companies sent sale persons. Once you sign up you will never see them when the work begins. They sent guys to do the job. Thus I went with JR for this big 2 days job When they started they covered stairs and carpet and where awesome friendly and the most professional knowledge. Plus a big truck, full to the roof with all parts. And those they needed. All went well like in the movies. They ran a few times in other trouble which was our old house fault, and NEVER had to get parts from a store. Because they have everything with them. Now the big news: They exchanged all outlets in every room!!! I didn't expected that. Only because otherwise the result wouldn't that good if they left the original in he told me. For free!!!! Amazing company!!!! How does his AC system work? Frugging unbelievable good! The first time the house ever got cool since 30 years! Not just cool. We ran a test for a full hour and it got cold! So gold, while working on the computer,I had to go outside into the sun to warm myself up! Do yourself a favor and forget about anybody else. He is the real deal. How did I find him? I asked my neighbor and he was happy with him a decade ago. He is the best. BTW, two days later,He sent me a note , reminding me for the 20 years of warranty he gave. read more

I was really left in the lurch by We Care Plumbing Heating and Air--they charged me for a maintenance plan and then said that they were not competent to fix the problem when a leak issue came up. I was aghast and totally at my wits end when a friend recommended JR's Heating & Air Conditioning. I was mostly impressed with the persistence of the technician. The other guys send you obviously inexperienced technicians who are primarily motivated to quote some up-sale kind of stuff/warranty plans, etc. JR's sends people out to fix the problem. Out with the old. In with the new! This is a small business shout-out for JR's Heating & AC Service. My compressor decided to stop working several days ago, during one of our brutal heat waves. JR's was able to come out the next day and check everything out. My condo was built in the late 90's and apparently it was time. My equipment arrived a few days after that for the change-out and install. The crew were professional and courteous, the quote was consistent with other averages for equipment and labor, they worked non-stop to get my family comfortable, and were on-time based on my scheduled appointment with them. What a great experience! Super quick to respond to our request for a quote and very professional. We chose JR's after quotes from two other companies because 1) the price was great. 2) there was no fearful up selling like Costco's quote. 3) we really liked the way our needs were listened to. I had the original floor heaters in my 1950 house replaced with a Honeywell HVAC system in 2002 but the wireless thermostat the system came with finally died. Honeywell consumer technical support did answer their phone however they sold me a replacement thermostat that was not wireless. A wireless thermostat would have required a new HVAC circuit board at an outrageous price and my original board is still fine. Since I had no wiring in the wall to connect the thermostat to the board I called JR's Heating having been referred by several neighbors. Techs Tony and Felipe showed up on time, worked quickly and quietly and got the job to run a wire from the system in the attic to my hallway wall done quickly. The thermostat Honeywell sold me ended up being defective but the Tech had a similar one in his truck that worked out great. So happy to have a heated house again! read more

I called them because they came recommended by a personal friend. My original HVAC from 1978 went out. This company came the very next day and gave me an estimate to replace both units and increase the size of all the ducting which they did 2 days later. Jim's crew is nothing short of amazing. We panicked a bit when our AC stopped working last week because it's summer and getting really warm outside. We immediately called JR's as neighbors had highly recommended them. Jim, the owner, immediately came out and assessed our problem. He spent the time to explain the issues with a system as old as ours. It was time to replace the AC and we dreaded knowing how much it might cost, but we were so happy with the quote which included replacing the old attic ducting that was filled with dirt over the past 25+ years. His crew showed up two days later bright and early and finished that same day. They laid down tarps to protect our carpet and were super efficient. Jim and his crew gave excellent service! They even took the time to show us the old ducting explaining how the cold air was able to leak out of the ducting into the attic through gaps and thin, deteriorating insulation. The new ducting is well sealed and efficient and allows the cold air to blow into the house, not the attic! We love our new thermostat, too, and how quiet the new AC is.
