Super cute coffee shop off the beaten trail. If you don't know where you're going you might miss it. I did. Lovely little place to have a cup of coffee or tea and if uou drink it there served in actual cups. Not your starbucks. So nice. This cozy little space had a ton of plants and natural sunshine it was very relaxed. Love it. Where I was disappointed and could not give it 4 stars was one the bathroom. I was so disappointed after sipping down my first cup and snarfing down a caprese panini only to discover the bathroom was dirty. Not I can't even use the bathroom dirty but pretty gross dirty. Please owners make sure your bathrooms are kept clean it's everything. It makes me second guess the cleanliness of your kitchen and second guess my opinion. The other thing they could use is more edibles. I was disappointed to only see two sandwiches offered, a vanilla cupcake and an oreo cake. read more

The ambience and decore is great and their coffee is prettt good, but their selection of bakes goods is sad. Everything is wrapped in cellophane or packaged for resale. When I came by, there were a few sad muffins and slices of pound cake. Also, the fragrances they had burning were so strong that it was hard to concentrate and breath. This is such a neat little cafe! They have a unique menu with great drink options and some simple snacks. I hope to come back to try some of their other drinks. The atmosphere is really cute with nice tea cup decorations that line the coffee bar. It's a little dark but the lamp on the table makes a huge difference. It wasn't packed when I came which is great because a lot of the coffee spots around this area in Chicago are constantly bussing with bodies. The neighborhood is also sooooo cute! A bunch of vintage Asian restraints from a variety of backgrounds. Overall it's a pretty cool hip area in the midst of a historic ethnic district. Want to come back to try the golden latte. Cutest little coffee place! I love the decor. A very authentic vintage vibe. I've been in there a few times and it's pretty calm each time. Ah! I love this place! I go here at least once or twice a week to get a nice cold tea drip. I enjoy the fact that it's a small business so I do my best to support it as much as I can! They have an awesome coffee/tea selection and usually have some chill music in the background playing. Essential oil machines are usually running which gives the place an amazing floral smell that goes well with all the live plants in the interior. I've come here many times just to sit down and study for hours without feeling conflicted and usually end up drinking two or more drinks while I'm there. read more

I can say nothing but good things about First Sip. They have become a place for me to study, work on homework, and catch up with my friends over tea. Their drinks are second-to-none, and always come out as something special. They have one of the most extensive and imaginative menus of any coffee shop I have ever visited. From delicious floral teas, to rich warming coffee drinks, they have more than you can drink. Who wouldn't want a coffee called a 'Banana Sundae'?! Their pastries and brownies are delicious but always, unfortunately, sold out by the time I get there after rush hour. The workers are always so friendly and warm, it feels more like a living room than a coffee shop. And the service is so so fast and consistent. I have never gotten a bad drink or had to wait more than 3 minutes. How they have the whole menu memorized is beyond me. First Sip can say that they have a very loyal customer in me, as I will be coming here for times to come. read more

My absolute favorite cafe in Chicago. Why? Not only is It run by the sweetest Vietnamese women, the tea and coffee is delicious! I work down the block and this is my go to place for meetings. So glad they decided to open up shop on my favorite street in Chicago : ) The decor is really nice with all of the cute vintage tea cups hanging from their ceiling.
