I lost 17 pounds not quickly, but fairly easily with his guidance. Most stuff can be handled via email so I don't need to take off work. Highly responsive. Not a pill pusher, but highly respects my ability to make choices for my body even if it isn't the choice he would make. Financially I was able to pair his fee with a slightly higher deductible plan at work. The combination of the two was actually less than what I was paying working for a school system and I get significantly better care.

He is a very caring PCP, but I think where he lacks is experience. In all honesty, if you get a cold, or a cut, he is amazing. But if you get a bout of meningitis or another illness which is chronic in nature - i would stay away until his practice matures. I have total faith, it will. He's definitely not a 1 star doc and he is trying his best to be a 5 star. To me, Dr. Joffee is a 2 star only because I have seen better, thats all. In my opinion, to most he is probably a 3-4 stars.

My elderly mother is a patient/CLIENT with this "organization". I have taken her to all three…read morelocations. The worst location is the Tyson's location. The second worst is the Vienna location and the best pick is the Fairfax location. I have too many criticisms and horrid experiences to write about concerning this place. My mother was seeing a PA Tran for many years. This person claimed my mother had "white coat" high blood pressure. Not true. My mother had unmanaged high blood pressure for YEARS! Years! This was going for years! She should have asked my mother to take her blood pressure at home and get some sort of a record of what was actually going on. Also...once my mother had dangerously high sodium levels. What was the PA's response...she called my mother and told her to eat something really salty and get another test right away. My mother ate a bag of potato chips and when retested...sodium was normal. Nothing more was said or done about it. My mother SHOULD have been invited to retest in about 3 months and a sharp eye should have been on that. Fast forward in time...my mother BLACKED OUT DUE TO LOW SODIUM LEVELS AND A UTI and suffered a concussion. Yes! I blame her. I do! I also brought my mother in to get 3-5 stitches taken out above her eye. The PA said she did not feel comfortable doing it. This was after yammering about her childhood and her mother and father and daughters for the entire appointment. I got her away from that fraud but...I am not certain of the present experiences either. Staff...I have encountered 2 staff members worth anything there. Communication....poor. The portal works sometimes and sometimes it doesn't . Their computers are always crashing. I had the worst time getting anyone to take her blood pressure seriously at all. You can never get a straight answer out of some of these so called medical professionals. I could go on and on and on but I am just too disgusted with the entire outfit. My mother hates change though. I suppose she likes rewarding bad behavior. I on the other hand...DO NOT. If you want that vibe that makes you feel as if you are getting a physical right outside of Port Authority...go here. If not...stay away. I hate leaving this review here. I do. It is the truth though,and I feel and think that I must speak up. This is the Jiffy Lube of medicine and YOU ARE NOT A CAR.

What she deliberately left out was that this other location would bill the visit as urgent/emergency care, turning what should have been a standard $30 copay into a surprise $200+ bill. If they had been honest and transparent about the massive cost difference, I would have waited a day or two to see my regular doctor. Instead, they took advantage of my vulnerability and pain to quietly route me into an overpriced visit without my informed consent. When I reached out to billing and customer support to explain the lack of disclosure, they refused to help or take accountability. It is heartbreaking and deeply infuriating to realize that a healthcare provider you trusted for years views its patients as an ATM rather than people needing care. Beware of their deceptive scheduling tactics. They do not care about your well-being--only what they can extract from your wallet when you are at your most vulnerable. In addition to 30-minute appointments, you get 24-hour access to your physician and, for an extra fee, house calls. Dr. Dappen and Dr. Bansal are both intelligent, caring, empathetic and skilled. In addition, because you see a physician, not an NP, a lot of stuff that would normally be referred out to specialists can be handled in-house. And both doctors are excellent sources of information for medically complex patients, like my spouse. Office staff is wonderful, and I just cannot say enough good things about this practice.

Parking was probably the hardest part at this location, as I'm used to going to Reston or Tysons Corner, where parking is very close to the office. Once I found parking in a lot about a quarter-mile away and walked to the office, I realized I couldn't get in without pushing an intercom button. Again, not something I was used to at the other offices that I've been to. But once I got inside, checked in, and let them know that I was trying to get lab work before my visits, they took care of signing me in for both and getting me set up. The lab tech took me back shortly after, and it was someone I knew from the Reston office. After finishing with the lab tech, the nurse practitioner quickly called me back, took care of the reason I was seeing her, and had me quickly on my way to my next appointment. I can't say enough about One Medical as a practice, and I highly recommend you give them a try if you need primary care or a new doctor.

My absolute favorite doctor Dr. Lim has left the practice so I've been hopping around whoever has been available and have found each person that I have met has been incredibly kind, smart, and sensitive to whatever issues I am facing at the time. The back and forth communication between the app is amazing and has saved me hours of my life .. and the ability to make same day appointments is life changing. They have a children's practice as well, which I am highly considering switching to as I can see it being easy to schedule sick and well visits, get doctors notes, etc. My company used to pay One Medical Group as a benefit but it is so good that I continue to pay out of pocket. I am so glad that Amazon has purchased the company to make this type of quality health care more accessible for all.
