Progressive Urgent & Primary Care is a new urgent care facility in Annandale, offering both urgent/primary care, on-site lab tests, on-site x-ray services, travel vaccinations, various testings (such as STD/HIV), immunizations, occupational health services, vaccinations, etc. Three physicians on staff are Dr. Ly, Dr. Tran, and Dr. Tran. I had a persistent cough that I wanted to get checked out - when I walked in, checking-in was such a breeze. I had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Ly, and he was super kind, gentle, informative, took the time to talk about my health/medical history, and answered all of my questions. He was also very conscientious of the time but with never a hint of any rushing! The receptionists, the physician's assistant, and the radiology technician were all also super welcoming and friendly! I had a chest x-ray done, and medications were sent directly to my preferred pharmacy lightning fast. Whoo hoo! The place itself is bright, clean, and decorated with modern furnishings. Parking is free, and in the back of the building. Definitely a convenient location and easy to access. You can also book appointments online for your convenience! +ask for Dr. Ly! +friendly staff! +parking in rear +labs and x-ray services on-site!

They were quick and prompt in addressing my issues and the MD gave me other suggestions as well. What more could you ask for?

I've been using the Patient First in Annandale now for almost two years now for some routine and urgent care. After having truly awful experiences with a few primary care doctors, and a multitude of misdiagnoses over the year. I've honestly been extremely hesitant about going to doctors regularly, I hate being talked down to, and I dislike how many doctors won't even listen. So I first ended up at Patient First for urgent care. I'd fallen and hit my knee pretty hard so I went to make sure I hadn't broken anything. The experience was positive. There was little to no wait, the receptionist was polite, efficient and helpful and overall the visit went quickly, they were able to do the x-rays on site and I left. Since then I've gone in for multiple issues, everything from my hearing aid tip getting stuck in my ear canal, to pneumonia. Every time my experience has been consistent,. Lovely, sympathetic, front of office staff, little to no wait time in the lobby and doctors who will listen. I've had extremely positive interactions with Dr. Wartenberg specifically. I have high blood pressure anytime I go to the doctor, it's anxiety. He was willing to listen and had them check my blood pressure after giving me time to relax in a quiet room. I've made them my primary care doctor, and I like that I can look up to see what doctors are schedule for specific days. Appointments can take a bit longer if they're really busy, but that's a bit expected given its walk in.

Highly recommend. Have been 5+ times. I was searching for a primary care physician near our new home and saw some good reviews on Google, so I decided to give it a shot. The initial call went smoothly, but I was a bit confused when I was told there was no way to send my previous medical records before my visit. It made me wonder how the doctor would know anything about my medical history prior to meeting. When I asked if I could email my records directly, I was told they didn't have an email system for that. I tried to fill out the basic intake questionnaires through the link they sent me, but the site crashed a few times, so I barely got any information submitted. I showed up before my 10 AM appointment, but even though I had already uploaded my insurance card, they asked me for it again. The front office staff was nice, but they looked super busy, and the lobby was packed. Seating was limited, and people were often trying to create space between themselves and others by "saving" the chair next to them, which made the VERY small lobby back up quickly. I ended up waiting for over an hour and noticed that people who arrived after me were being seen first. Eventually, a rather unusual person took my vitals, put me in a room, and said the nurse would be right with me. Then, he came back and told me to face the iPad for a "virtual" visit with the nurse. A friendly woman popped up on the screen and started asking me questions. Although I didn't like the iPad intake, the person who took my intake was very kind. After another wait, the physician came in and mentioned that she typically treats older patients but can work with younger people, too. Thanks, I guess? Even though the whole situation felt a bit off, I could tell she was doing her best given how busy things were. I didn't mind waiting because I know healthcare can be unpredictable and everyone has questions. However, I could tell I wasn't important, and my "annual exam" felt like a waste of time for both me and the staff. The doctor asked me the EXACT SAME questions the iPad nurse had already covered, and I was a bit disappointed that no one asked about my medical condition that requires blood work until I brought it up at the end. She said they might not be able to do the additional blood work during this visit but could fit it into my "follow-up" when I came back for my results next week. I found that a bit frustrating but didn't want to hold her up, as she seemed rushed and a bit scattered. Typically, a doctor or nurse will call with results, but this place tried to force me into a recheck to receive my results, which seemed scammy. Since I was there for an annual exam, I really hoped to discuss some specific tests based on her recommendations, but that didn't happen. Instead, she asked if I ride a bicycle, and when I said I didn't, she felt the need to tell me that if I ever do, I should wear a helmet. Thanks again, I guess...?The doctor left the exam room in a hurry, and I was still standing there, feeling confused by the oddest medical experience I've ever had. The whole place was just strange, informal, and cold. Clearly, this wasn't the right place for me to establish routine care.

Note: This location is now called "Kids Watch Urgent Care"…read more UPDATE: 36 hours after I wrote this post, my son who I took in for a suspected ear infection but they diagnosed as "fussiness in baby", spiked a 102 fever during the July 4th holiday weekend and spent the entire day inconsolable and tugging on his ear. I took him to a different urgent care where he was diagnosed with an ear infection, unsurprising to everyone, except apparently Dr. Dhaliwal. My frustration is not from the fact that my expectations didn't meet the doctor's "medical expertise" but rather that both me and my son were treated terribly and like complete idiots. Good doctors miss things, they're not perfect, but good people don't talk down to patients/caregivers and belittle them. Kindness goes a long way in medical care. I would strongly encourage others to find a different urgent care. Original post: Easily the worst, most condescending, unprofessional medial experience I've had for either myself or my kids. I was talked down to, dismissed, and treated like an idiot when I tried to advocate for my son. Not only did one provider give one diagnosis for my son the owner came in after and completely negated everything the first provider had said. There's clearly a disconnect in communication and training at this business and I do not plan to bring my children there ever again. No wonder this place was empty the day before July 4th when every other urgent care was slammed...

She was first taken to another hospital, where the plan was to put her under anesthesia to reset her shoulder. Because she had a life-threatening reaction to anesthesia about 10 years ago, when she flatlined during surgery, we were extremely hesitant. Combined with the circumstances there, we decided to take her to Fairfax Hospital. That decision led us to Dr. Titus Park and his incredible team, and we are so thankful it did. From the moment we arrived, Dr. Park had a clear plan that did not involve anesthesia. He immediately put our entire family at ease with his calm confidence, compassion, and professionalism. My daughter was in excruciating pain--a true 10 out of 10. She asked one of the nurses if she would pray with her, and without hesitation, she kindly did. That simple act of kindness meant more than words can express. When Dr. Park successfully put her shoulder back into place, the relief was immediate. My daughter looked him in the eyes and said, "I could just kiss you!" It was such a heartfelt expression of gratitude because her pain was instantly gone. What also stood out was Dr. Park's wonderful bedside manner. Even in the middle of a stressful situation, he found a way to make us smile. He asked my two daughters, now both in their late 30s, which one was my favorite and which one had been the cutest baby. They both immediately raised their hands and looked at me, and I just turned my head. We all burst into laughter. It was exactly the kind of lighthearted moment our family needed. Dr. Park and his entire team turned an unbearable situation into a bearable one through their exceptional medical care, kindness, compassion, and genuine concern for both their patient and her family. We will never forget the care we received. Thank you, Dr. Park and your amazing team, for giving our daughter relief and giving our family peace of mind. We are forever grateful.

Unfortunately, the ER experience is no better; the priority is clearly "patient turnover" rather than "patient wellness." Every visit follows the same script: Urgent Care dismisses us with ineffective antibiotics for a supposed ear infection, and the ER rushes to discharge us without investigating the underlying cause. The staff is increasingly irritable, and the doctors seem to rely on snap judgments rather than diagnostic testing. It feels like the Hippocratic Oath has been traded for the bottom line. We aren't here for fun; we are here for help that we aren't receiving.
