Been going to this place for almost 2 years now. I completely skip on the regular doctor as these guys are better. Any time I have anything wrong with me, I simply go there, get seen in under 15 mins, get the care I need, and I'm out. All I need to pay is my copay. Better than a regular doctor office which most have now been bought out by Private Equity Firms, so you go there wait hours, if they have availability, pay a high copay, need to go for another 2 visits to squeeze more money out of you, then pay more after the copay. If you'd rather do that, go ahead, or you can choose Progressive and do it the right way. Even if you don't have insurance (which I didn't last year), I went here. $100 flat fee and you'll be taken care of. Good people here read more

I had come here twice and had a pleasant experience both times. First time I brought in my 9 month old and second time I had bronchitis and needed antibiotics. The urgent care is on a walk in basis. The reception and medical assistants were polite and efficient. The doctor listened patiently and addressed my concerns. I have always had an excellent experience at this urgent care facility! Between myself and three kids we've been to many urgent care facilities over the years but none like Dr. Ly. He feels like a family doctor when you see him. Dr. Ly is amazing. I feel like he truly cares about his patients. He is very knowledgeable. He takes his time with his patients and knows what questions to ask and really tries to understand the issue to properly diagnose and get to the bottom of it. My wife and I came to Progressive Urgent Care for a blood screening and to get the flu vaccine. The staff was very helpful and efficient with getting us signed in, as we were new patients to this practice. Dr. Tran and his team were very thorough and helpful during the exam and testing. *WARNING FOR ANYONE WITH SEVERE ALLERGIES* I really wanted to like this urgent care facility. I visited on 1/29/23 around 10:30am due to suspected laryngitis. The customer service from the front desk receptionist was exceptional. I waited 30 minutes after I walked in which was to be expected from my past experiences at urgent cares. However, when the doctor entered the room he didn't introduce himself and asked me what my symptoms were immediately upon entering. I only learned his name from reading it off his coat (Dr. Tran). He was in and out of the room in the matter of 2 minutes (this is not an exaggeration). I informed him about my life threatening milk allergy promptly before any medications were prescribed (anaphylaxis). For context, I just had a life threatening food allergy two days before that I informed him about. I told him if he told me the medications he was prescribing I could look them up for him to verify they were safe. He insisted he had it handled and Informed me I could head to the front. When I got home from the pharmacy I researched the inactive ingredients of the steroid tablet just to be extra safe and sure enough it contained LACTOSE (the pan flit info never has it marked so you have to be resourceful). I called the urgent care back and was greeted by the same delightful woman. She understood the information and put me on a hold that unfortunately lasted 30 minutes. When we finally got connected again, she apologized for the long delay and blamed it on the Dr. who was assuring her that I wouldn't have a reaction to such small amounts of lactose in the pill (I have in the past already). He completely dismissed the severity of my allergy that I so strongly stated prior and instilled a false sense of security at the visit. I expressed to the front desk that he put my life at risk and she kindly told me he would prescribe an alternative medication to my pharmacy. 4hrs later I got the safe liquid version of the medication that could of been prescribed to me in the first place. All that to say, the level of care at Progressive Urgent Care is NOT PROGRESSIVE. As someone who has 3+ years of experience in the medical field I can relate to the level of stress and volume in these settings. However, the dismissive treatment I received was unethical and it wouldn't be of good faith to not document it for others who may have severe allergies (food related or not). read more

Progressive Urgent & Primary Care is a new urgent care facility in Annandale, offering both urgent/primary care, on-site lab tests, on-site x-ray services, travel vaccinations, various testings (such as STD/HIV), immunizations, occupational health services, vaccinations, etc. Three physicians on staff are Dr. Ly, Dr. Tran, and Dr. Tran. I had a persistent cough that I wanted to get checked out - when I walked in, checking-in was such a breeze. I had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Ly, and he was super kind, gentle, informative, took the time to talk about my health/medical history, and answered all of my questions. He was also very conscientious of the time but with never a hint of any rushing! The receptionists, the physician's assistant, and the radiology technician were all also super welcoming and friendly! I had a chest x-ray done, and medications were sent directly to my preferred pharmacy lightning fast. Whoo hoo! The place itself is bright, clean, and decorated with modern furnishings. Parking is free, and in the back of the building. Definitely a convenient location and easy to access. A friend went in to get something checked out really quick, but sadly one of the male employees who checks vitals made really rude and unnecessary comments about her weight. After telling him her weight for vitals, he rudely laughed and told her "I think you're more than that". He then proceeded to ADD 5lbs to the weight she had said. AND THEN laughed more and said "even then, I think you're more than that". She's a small woman, but being told your weight does not match your looks - while laughing - and then changing her weight on the chart is extremely inappropriate and offensive and she was really upset for the rest of the visit. Thankfully she told the more-kind physician she saw about the incident which is the only reason Im leaving two stars. If you're going to work in a health care environment, you should be treating all patients with respect and not be rude by making unnecessary and uncalled for comments about weight and looks. You don't know what negative effects you could have caused by saying something like that. It's a shame that people like this work in the healthcare environment. You should probably reconsider your career field if you're going to live like that. read more

This place is also my primary care physician. They gave me a referral to go to a specialist, which somehow expired after several visits in 2-3 months. I had a appointment today at my specialist, Progressive refused to fax another referral without my primary physician seeing me. Really? Now I am waiting in the Progressive room for doctor, just to get a referral from the same place. Already wasted 1hr to come here and still waiting here for last 45m. What a waste of time. Progressive only wants to make more money by asking me to visit again. This policy don't make any sense. read more

Been going to this place for years and each and every time I require medication, I tell them I'm allergic to penicillin. Went recently and apparently they prescribed a penicillin based antibiotic. I called to see if I could get the medication swapped out and they said I had to come back in. Not sure why they would think I would go back if they were negligent in the first place. read more

do not recommend this place at all - please find nurses who are empathetic and careful with their words. the doctors here are superb, despite having to wait for 4 hours, but the people checking vitals... I would really look into training your employees better. I just moved here last year & don't know a whole lot about the area. I have union insurance & prefer to keep my PCP, so I was just looking for a clinic to get my routine annual physical. I really wanted to like this place, because of the convenience, but the old saying goes, "you get what you pay for". Except, in this case, you also pay dearly for things you don't want. I was uncomfortably coerced into receiving a Vitamin D test. This was apparently unnecessary according to my insurance. Now I'm robbed of $243. Doctor Ly is super attentive, caring, thorough, knowledgeable, and clearly explains what needs to be done and reasons for it. I drove all the way out here per recommendation of you fellow Yelpers when I was starting to feel under the weather late last week. The office is pretty much in a random location but was extremely clean and professional looking. I signed in and was seen within 5 minutes- the nurse on duty was kind and we talked about my symptoms. They recommended I get a chest x-ray, which was a fairly easy process with the xray technician not speaking much English but was polite. This is when the waiting game started. The doctor came in and asked me a few questions, then told me she had to wait for the results to come back in from the xray. I waited close to 45 minutes for this with her sticking her head in once to let me know she was still waiting. Just FYI for you sicklings out there, if you get a chest xray the 20 minute in and out will not be possible for you. In the end she let me go and told me she would call me if anything came up. I wasn't sure if she actually knew what I had but with a negative strep test, she just prescribed steroids and some cough syrup. Overall the steroids seem to be helping and I haven't gotten any worse. Nice, clean place to go. read more

Went to Progressive this morning after waking up with what appears to be pink eye. The location is easy to access with plenty of free parking. Once inside, I was promptly greeted and given paperwork to complete. The front desk staff is extremely pleasant and professional. I also noticed that the place is beautifully decorated and is spotlessly clean. I was quickly called in to triage and processed. The tech was also very pleasant and professional. The doctor arrived to the examination room a few minutes after I was taken there. He checked out my eye, we chatted briefly, and he said he would send my prescription to the pharmacy of my choice. From beginning to end, the experience couldn't possibly have been better. I enthusiastically recommend this facility should you find yourself in need of it! read more

My friend told me about this place because of the rapid testing for COVID. It's been hard to find a place where they don't take 10 days or more to get back to you on results. Although places like CVS are offering free testing, if you want your results immediately, this is the place to go. Was able to get same day appt and they don't ask too many questions about why you need to get tested. The receptionist called me back for appt times and was very nice throughout the process. $90 flat fee and they don't take insurance for the test. Pull up to the back of building to a white tent where there are 2 designated spots for testing. Call when you arrive, the tester brings a waiver, and then the uncomfortable swab, all done in about 5-10 mins max. The tester was kind and I received a call an hour later with my results. read more

This should be the model by which all other Urgent Care facilities follow. We took my three year old son in 15 minutes before closing since he had a cough that had come on that day, progressively had gotten worse, and was interfering with him falling asleep. We went in just wanting to do a nebulizer treatment and didn't leave until well after closing so they could ensure they did everything they could. We were greeted immediately by the receptionist and the entire waiting room space was very clean. Even though it was almost closing, the entire team went through a comprehensive battery of tests to make sure it was not something too serious--they checked for flu and pneumonia and even though it was already "closed" they did a chest x-ray to ensure his lungs were clear. Everyone with whom we interacted was a pleasure and were very cognizant and focused, and not to mention patient, on making sure our son was happy and content even going so far as to give him stickers. Fortunately it was just a case of bronchitis and after two treatments of Albuterol he was sent on his way. I would've given five stars for the facility and service anyway but the real clincher was them calling to follow up the next day to check on him. A lot of businesses could benefit by following their lead. read more

My husband, my dad and I went to progressive urgent care. My dad needed a medical examination and prescription for his diabetes. My husband had swollen lymph nodes for over 10 days. Once we went there, we accepted in a prompt manner. The supporting stuff is very well trained and professional. The doctor ( he is of Vietnamese origin ) took us prescribed the needed medication for my dad. He was very honest and direct telling us what the best drug for him was and that it would be costly had we decided to by the original manufacturer. He recommended the generic one. For my husband he recommended 3 types Of drugs- 2 antibiotics and 1 steroid. To make the long story short: We paid $50 per person for the visit. The prescription for my husband was $15 ( with the probiotics included ). The life saving medication for my dad was only $20. I'm conclusion, this clinic exceeded Our expectation of the quality/ price ratio we received. We could not have been more pleased what superior Service we received for such an affordable price. read more

Went here because I was sick on a Saturday and they had the earliest hours. The visit was okay but I was given antibiotics that i later founs out from my FIL (who is a doctor) that it was a type of antibiotics thaymt was way too strong given the symptoms and he was perplexed as to why I was prescribed such a strong medication. My FIL encouraged me to get a second opinion that same day... now I'm sick as a dog but i comply and go to my usual go-to clinic, mid-atlantic, because it's afternoon now and they are open... well turns out I actually had a weird strain of bacteria and the antibiotics i was previously prescibed was totally not suitable! Turns out that proper diagnosis was really critical in our home bc i ended up getting my daughter and FIL sick but sincr everyonr knew that i had this bacteria previously we were able to get everyone rlse on the right meds promptly. So in short... This place totally misdiagnosed me, gave me unnecessary meds and then a month later i found out that they actually didnt take my insurance so all costs (over $200) were out of pocket. read more

Walked in a half an hour before their closing with a pretty serious and very sudden illness. And it's a Friday night at 21:30, so I'm sure they were ready to close up shop soon. The Entire staff was amazing and personable-- from the front of the house staff, to the PA, to Dr. Ly. They were able to diagnose and help me begin treatment immediately... Dr. Ly took his time. Explained the illness. Explained the meds. Explained what to expect in the coming weeks. Answered Every Single question with patience. They even gave me exact directions to the all night CVS pharmacy. Side note, this place is Immaculately clean. Literally the tidiest doctors offices I've seen. I went to Inova urgent care this morning and they sent me away saying I should wait until my problem fixes itself or gets worse so I came here and Doctor Tran was able to solve the problem and now I have peace of mind. Friendly front office staff, clean office. Dropped in at 10 am on a Friday and was the only patient there. One other person came in shortly after. My copay was only $20 with Cigna CoreSource, same as what I would pay for a regular office visit. Found this place through yelp after the terrible primary care office with horrible front office staff where I'm an existing patient (Advent Health Group) would not see me on the same day. I will probably just from now on come here (even though I believe they don't take appointments). I was in and out in a shorter amount of time than when I've come in with an actual appointment at other offices. Dr. Ly was really nice and professional, and recognized having been sick a month ago with the same symptoms, I was need of a Z pack. I went Into Progressive Urgent and Primary Care for the first time this morning. I was very very pleased with the hours of operation,the facility, the receptionists, and Dr. Lee. This may become my new primary care facility. The facility was spotless and Dr. Lee was very pleasant and thorough answering all my questions. Another good thing is that besides being open 365 days of the year they always have a physician and someone to do the testing. So, you can have a test done and most the time have the results before you leave. Yesterday, while helping move some furniture, a piece of wood fell on my leg causing a painful injury. After checking Yelp for the closest urgent care clinic, I discovered the Progressive Urgent and Primary Care Clinic-- so I went there to get my leg looked at, since the wound was bleeding and swollen a bit from the injury. The clinic is well-designed, well-equipped, and well-staffed and I was well taken care of. The reception desk staff and the medical assistant/technician were all very professional. As soon as I arrived at the clinic, they quickly processed my identification and insurance information, took my vital signs, and put me in a room to see the doctor. Dr. Tu-Van Tran took care of me. She was absolutely terrific and very professional. After an initial examination, she told me that she would decide what to do after my leg was x-rayed because she wanted to make certain there was no fracture. The x-ray was easy to do because they have an x-ray machine and a technician at the clinic. After reviewing the x-ray, which showed that there had not been a fracture, Dr. Tran carefully cleaned and bandaged the wound and told me how to care for it the next few days. She also thoroughly explained to me exactly what she was doing and why. In addition, she gave me a prescription for antibiotics to make certain that the wound did not become infected. The medical service provided by Dr. Tu-Van Tran and the Progressive Urgent & Primary Care Clinic was absolutely first-rate. I highly recommend them. read more

The best urgent care center I've ever been to. It's brand new, clean, and friendly. Late hours and short wait times. It wasn't overly expensive either, I know some places without insurance are over $100. The whole process took under an hour, but I was also the only person there at 8:30pm. Doctors and nurses were knowledgeable and friendly, and even called me back a couple days later to check up on me. They also speak several languages.
