Trucker to get four tires installed. After the installation, the tire pressure sensor would not work on one of the tires. I took it back, and they said it wasn't there a problem, that it was probably a bad sensor. Apparently they thought it was just a coincidence that the sensor failed at the exact time that they put the tires on. If they will not back up their work, I will not come back. Cannot recommend anyone else. They also set the tire pressures anywhere from 52 pounds to 75 pounds, and they were all different. read more

I'd like to give a huge shout out to Raul and Angel for taking care of me. I ran into a nail yesterday and had to get my tire patched up. The shop was literally about to close but I made it just on time and both Raul and Angel accommodated me and made sure I was taken care of before they closed up shop. Angel is a beast!! He jacked up my car, removed my tire, patched and worked on the tire, and put everything back within maybe 10-12 mins!! I couldn't believe how quick he was and the quality of work was on point. We have been coming here FOR YEARS. Today we saw the true colors of this shady establishment. Came in brought our own brake pads and rotors and paid to have them installed and have our tires rotated. Upon leaving ALL OF OUR CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS WERE ON. We have a prestige condition 2022 Chevy Suburban and now our cars brakes won't break and our ESC light is on and is prohibiting us from going over 43 MPH! When we informed him of what happened he tried to up-charge us $50 to put the "Snap on reader on that costs $1500" I told him that should be included in the price we paid and he told us no he wouldn't fix our car without paying the extra $50. I went back and got into it with the owner who kept yelling at me telling me "I'm not like everyone else (whatever that means) and you yelling" and I don't understand because he "has to pay the guy who did the work". Don't all employers have to pay their employees for working? He kept saying I don't understand how business works- hello I own my own business if anyone knows it's me. He ended putting a guy in my car who sat there clueless with this alleged $1500 reader (almost felt bad for the poor guy who works for an obvious jerk). But nothing is fixed and now I guess this is my problem. On top of it all, we missed my daughter's specialty neuro Dr appointment (for her brain growth) we waited months for because we can't even take the freeway to get to Walnut Creek because it wouldn't go over 43 MPH. Moral of the story, do not bring your car here. They are shady they will mess your car up just to get more money out of you. I never write reviews. I hate being negative and don't believe in bashing family-owned businesses. However, my experience at First Stop Tire was the worst I've ever had at a business. I came in with used tires and just wanted to switch them out with the new ones I had in my car. I was quoted $140 ($35 a tire) to switch all 4 tires for the new ones I brought. While working on the wheels, they found a crack on one of them and offered to fix it, but I declined. The owner then took me inside his office and said he's going to charge $120 for the remaining 3 tires. The $140 quote initially included labor and a tire disposal fee of $5 per tire, as the worker informed me before starting the work on the car. I tried explaining the math to the owner several times, but he wouldn't listen, cutting me off mid-sentence, yelling, telling me I don't understand how business works, accusing me of disrespecting him. In the end, he was screaming at the top of his lungs. Owner is rude, money hungry, manipulative, temper sensitive. I highly recommend looking for another shop nearby. There are tons. About a month ago I came by for an alignment, did a horrible job gave me positive camber on one side and negative camber on the other, forcing me to go to a different place with people competent enough to make a steering wheel straight. Waste of $100 Second experience, one of my motor mounts blew so I pulled up and they said they would replace all mounts just waiting on parts, about an hour goes by and they say it's good now. All they did was bolt the old motor Mount back on even though they said all new parts and the mount was only held on by two bolts. Alex and his employees are the best mechanics in East Contra Costa. They pay attention to detail and are very affordable. I've had brakes replaced, wheels purchased here and balanced, and other services since they were the most affordable compared to other mechanics in the area that just want to rip you off. Another thing I love about this place is that they will run a diagnostic to find out what the issue is, and if it's a simple fix or there's nothing wrong, they'll just tell you up front... unlike other mechanics out there who'll just try to nickel and dime you. Sigh.... I always try to give the benefit of the doubt to some of these places where you don't see a great amount of reviews, this is my second time here in the past 2 1/2 years only because the three other tire shops in my area we're all booked for a couple of days and I needed to get some tires installed on my truck. Granted they were able to fit me in on the same day, however, that shouldn't excuse the piss, poor service and horrible installation job. So I asked him how much to mount for tires on my truck and he said $140 and I told him that I would be taking my old tires with me and he said that's fine. It's the same price, OK fine, at today's rates that's probably about fair or average, which also means that you would have a qualified technician to remove the old tires, then have the technician put the tires in the back of my truck and mount to the new tires and balanced them properly as well as torquing the Lugnuts to spec which is 135 foot pounds of torque. 1st issue: So I see them installing my tires on my truck and one of the technicians, who I would assume is the manager or possibly the owner, is leaning up against my truck with his dirty clothes, and talking to a friend of his as if it were a wall and somehow that it's OK for him to lean up against, in my book that is not OK, not only are you probably leave in Grease marks (which he did) but also adding scratches to the front fender that I just had polished a week ago. 2nd issue: here they are installing the four tires and wheels on my truck, and I noticed that they didn't even bother torquing the wheels but rather they used an impact wrench and sat there for several seconds, containing each individual lug nut to whatever God awful torque, that is on those impact. Wrenches, not OK, and not even done properly as he didn't even take it down in a star pattern. 3rd issue: as I'm walking up to my vehicle I noticed that there is so much grease from their hands as well as whatever lube they use when installing the tire to the wheel it's swung everywhere on my wheel! Once you're done, wipe it off, so that it doesn't turn into a gummy mess!! I should've just played it, smart and set up an appointment with Big O Tires, America's tire, Charles Schwab, tire, any of the other above tire shops, other than this place. Trust me, go elsewhere for any other tire related issues. read more

I asked how much to mount and balance 2 tires and the price was okay so I came in. When I got there the guy told me a higher price and I mentioned that someone told me a different price over the phone. He didn't seem to care, so to make it cheaper, I took my old tires and disposed of them to avoid the fee. I'm guessing he didn't like that he got called out, so I believe he intentionally misbalanced all 4 of my tires. I know all 4 were misbalanced because my car was vibrating like I had oval shaped wheels when I was on the freeway going 70+ mph. I went to America's tire finally 4 months later and they told me they were all out of balance. Don't cut corners and pay these shit heads, America's Tire actually knows what they're doing. read more

The shop came in the clutch! I ran over a stupid screw on the road and noticed my TPMS sensor blinking as I'm driving and exiting on an offramp from the freeway. I pulled over and saw the air leaking slowly and the screw on my front tire. I immediately had my girlfriend search for a close by tire shop and didn't have any luck with anyone being open after 4 PM on a Sunday! With one of the last stops on the list, we called first stop wheels and tires and we happen to get a human answering instead of a machine! I told the guy the issue and if he had time to do this today, he said he's about to close but swing by and he can take a look at it before he makes a repair. I guess you can't repair a screw in the tire if it's on the side wall and not on the actual patch that touches the ground. We safely but quickly drove there and he was just finishing up With a customer. I introduce myself and Hai recognized my voice and Directed me to pull up my honda so that he could take a quick look at it. He saw where the damage was and before he started any type of war, he quoted me $20 for a plug or $50 for a patch. He explained that the patch takes a little longer and more work because he hast to dismount the tires and clean up the inner side of the tire where he's going to put a patch. Then he has to re-balance and mount the tire. He suggested that based on the tire age and where in tear, he recommend just doing a plug and with only take about 15 minutes. He suggested that I need to buy a new tires for the fronts very soon because of the wet weather and balding of my tires. I appreciated his suggestion and noticing what would be safe or what needs to be changed now. He took off the tire, fix the plug and mounted the tire back on my car and I was gone in 30 minutes. I appreciated the customer service and honesty, that I went back there about a month later to buy myself for new tires. He gave me a great deal and offered me two prices for credit card or cash. He said because of the credit card machine and having to charge 3% for the service fee. I came with cash and even referred a few friends to the spot! read more

I called and asked if they would match a price of $65 to mount, balance, stems, disposal of my old tires and to put on tires I am bringing in. The guys says I'll do better! $60! I tried to ask cash or do you take plastic? he hung up on me. I had to call again and ask the question and he answered CASH ONLY!!! I go down there only because I am helping a friend sell his car and he doesn't have much money to spend. A reputable locations wants $100+ I got there and the story changed. They wanted $5 more per valve stem... I told them I just want one stem replaced, since I think it was leaking. Buuuut it wasn't that easy. The guy running the show comes to me and asks what I wanted done. I explained to him I called and asked to match price and how much etc etc. I had no issue spending $65 even to add one stem. He says (with a blue tooth in his ear) "TAKE YOUR BUSINESS TO ANOTHER LOCATION! I DON'T NEED EXCUSES HERE!" I had to raise my voice and say "I am here! I don't want to take it else where! Just get it done!" So he makes it clear to only change one stem to his employees. They start working on it. ***I will not discredit the employees! They are hard workers and made sure to take care of my wheels.*** (I use to work at a tire shop) the workers have their stuff together. Later the same guy running the show comes to me and says "I had to change all the valve stems because they were bad." I was watching them the entire time and no one asked me to complete this addition cost (which is illegal). I said "so now what?" He replies "$5 each." I told him I only had $65 on me and I didn't mind giving him $65 but now more... He said I will let it go this time, it was for your safety I had to change them. I asked, "why didn't you inform me since I never left site of my car?" No response and he left it alone... When my car was wrapping up, he came by and apologized for "giving you a hard time." If there was a "no star option" the owner would have received that option. Since there is not, one star for the owner! I added a second star because of the workers! It's hard to find a tire shop that does quality work. I got exactly what I wanted from this tire shop and paid a fraction of what I would have at other places. I went in on a Saturday and boy were they very busy! For a tire shop to be very busy- it's a good thing. I paid exactly what I was quoted and the work was done in a timely fashion. I understand that other people might've had a bad experience. But I really don't know why this place got such poor reviews. I told them exactly what I wanted and they got it done.
