My 2016 VW Beetle had a terrible oil leak for after a Pep Boys visit. After dealing with this issue back and forth with Pep Boys since October 2023 (yes, I've been dealing with this for 7 months at this point because I kept having to deal with Pep Boys' terrible customer service BS). Long story short, I gave up on them and decided to go shop around for a reliable mechanic that won't rip me off. To Pep Boys' credit, they did diagnose the problem correctly-- it was a broken oil pressure sensor-- because I got a second opinion from a VW dealership. After being sick and tired of topping up my oil for months until I could afford to fix it, I finally found Marquez Mobile Mechanic. Noah was pretty straightforward about his pricing quote. After booking an appointment, he came out and fixed the initial issue of the oil pressure sensor, however, he found something else that was the root cause! The sensor was actually broken cause it was soaked in oil, and the oil leak was caused by an over tightened oil drain plug. I ended up calling Noah to come fix my car for the second time for the drain plug the same week! Overall, I did save $200 from the VW dealership's quote to fix the oil pressure sensor, but remember, they didn't know about that drain plug being messed up. Be careful when you decide to get a diagnosis work from these guys. They are knowledgeable but won't roll the diagnostic fee towards the repair. Which means if they got the diagnosis wrong and you decide to go with another mechanic then you end up hiring another mechanic for the wrong job or you end up paying again for the right diagnosis. Always do your research. I had cylinders misfiring and i asked for a diagnosis. Mechanic looked into the engine bay and found some coolant so diagnosed it as a leaking head gasket after I told him that the previous owner poured sealant into the coolant tank. He didn't check the engine codes, didn't test the compression, didn't check for overheating, didn't check spark plugs, coils or fuel injectors. I had another mechanic open the heads up and it wasn't the gasket. There was no leak around the head from what we could tell. There was no mixing of coolant and oil. The engine didn't overheat either. read more

I don't like to leave a review but this one was super frustrating. Honestly I do not know where to begin. This company (Marquez Mobile Mechanic) is really too good to be true. I had an emergency and I needed someone to diagnose my car and fix it between Saturday and Sunday due to my Mechanic being closed during the weekend and needing my car for work on Monday. After looking up for available Mechanic around my area, I came across Marquez Mobile Mechanic. A person name Noah came out and looked into the hood and looked at the tires and deducted that my car issues are Alignment issue or ABS. I ask Noah if his able to fix the alignment since that was the "main" issue per Noah. Noah said he can but I have to reached out to the office and he seems to be in hurry. For about a 15 minute "diagnostic" I was charge $165 + $8 tax. I took the receipt to my trusted Mechanic on Monday thinking Noah's diagnostic was sufficient. My Mechanics first question was why was I charged tax? In state of CA Mechanics do not charge tax for labor, per my Mechanic tax is only applied if tangible parts were used in the car. Also the diagnostic was completely incorrect. They asked me if the car was inspected by jacking it up and I said no because Noah never did that. When they plug it to their computer it has nothing to do with alignment nor ABS. I try to be gentle and ask for my refund but no one responded yet and that was Monday 11/04. I also again on 11/6 I have requested for refund but still no response. If you are in an emergency, please wait for your trusted Mechanic and do not go for what seems to be too good to be true. I live in the Berkeley Hills and had a Mini that would not start after AAA replaced the battery. Rather than have it towed in to a shop, I decided to use Mobile Mechanic, who came the day after I contacted them. Even though I was told to do a compression check, Noah suggested a diagnostic check at $162. The problem was discovered to be a loose fuse. Noah explanations were thorough and NOah. was very patient in answering all my questions and trying to come up with affordable fixes. I was very glad that I used Noah's services. The diagnosis was made quickly and, since the car is still at home, I have the luxury of trying to come up with a work around for my loose fuse instead of having the car at a repair shop with the only alternative being an expensive repair. read more

Requested a brake repair for my front & back brakes. Requested rotors, sensors, and brake pads and asked if they were original twice and was told they are. Parts were ordered on the 13th and Scheduled the repair for the 20th morning and was told during the scheduled time that they can no longer come that day due to a technician calling out. Rescheduled to the 23rd and after arrival said they can't repair it as they are not equipped to lift my car. They offered a complete refund or keeping the parts & being charged for just that. I decided to keep the parts just to realize the parts aren't original and there were no rotors hence they were not gonna be changed if the repair had happened (without being told) and weren't even part of the order to being with. I returned the parts and got back my deposit. Wasted 10 days where I could have gotten it fixed elsewhere, and integrity is questionable. read more
