This was my first time in Ossining and I stopped in around 8:00- Luis and his staff are amazing. They gave me parking tips, and were so warm and welcoming. The cashier was helpful in finding out details of the pastries for my allergy concerns, which I truly appreciate. I tried the seasonal rosewater and fig latte with oatmilk and it was amazing, I didn't have to add a thing to it. I also had the Paris Tea scone, which was not overly sweet and complemented my drink well. While Luis was making lattes, a family came in with a little kid who was running around a little- Luis was laughing and made the family feel welcome. The kid ordered his muffin and seemed very pleased with the service as well! The kid wasn't being a distraction, but being a parent, it is nice to see shop owners welcoming to children and creating a comfortable environment for parents to come and enjoy the much needed caffeine. read more

Came here for a coffee date in at around 1:15 pm. It was a bit crowded but I loved the vibe. Luckily, there were seats available. We ordered our coffees and got the cookie. We sat down and I usually have to add sugar to my coffee, however, to my surprise, I didn't need to add any to this one. I was so happy to finally find a coffee shop I love. I highly recommend this place. I'll be returning here regularly. In addition to the fabulous coffee, the cookie was warm and soft center with a crunchy ends. I love cookies like that. This is a great little coffee shop right on Ossining's Main Street. It's a 15 minute walk up the hill from the train station. They are a family owned, artisan business. They have excellent coffee and some bakery items which are to die for! I love their collaborations with other restaurants for weekend brunch. The First Village Coffee House is the best coffee spot in New York. I remember taking my granddaughter to the shop. While I drank my delicious vanilla latte, she munched on her chocolate chip cookie and played with all the games, toys and puzzles. It was always relaxing and I had opportunities to see the latest local artist masterpieces. Although Covid halted all that, the coffee and treats are still worth the trip there and every chance I get I frequent my favorite coffee spot!!! read more

FVC is a go-to spot for my friends and me! Not only is the environment super cool, but the employees and owner are always so friendly. They have vegan options, which are awesome, and traditional options as well-- even in the pastries! My brother is also obsessed with the coffee beans that First Village sells. This spot is great. The employees are always so friendly and welcoming and the drinks are consistently good. The drink selection is not huge, but I think that's s good thing. It's for REAL coffee drinkers, which I am not. But I always feel like one when I'm sipping a beverage from First Village. There's not a lot of seating but I've never had a problem sitting when I was there, no matter how busy it was. My favorite things here are the steamed milk designs and the owner ALWAYS says bye and thank you as you walk out the door. Excellent shop and the type of business that makes you want to support local business to make them successful. Wishing them nothing but the best!!! read more

High quality local coffee shop and bakery. I've had the iced coffee, coffee lemonade, lavender latte, churro latte, all the croissant varieties, scones, quiche, muffins, cinnamon buns. All A++ would recommend to anyone. The bakery display is all fresh and, if you're a pastry nut (like me), not to be missed. The coffee is delicious and reasonably priced. They do suffer from what I call "hipster-itis" which is when the staff pay a lot of attention to customers that look young, cool, alternative, and pay short shrift to the customers that do not. Not rude, just a bit dismissive. Worth it for the coffee and amazing baked goods. Did I mention the cinnamon buns have regular icing and not (disgusting) cream cheese frosting??! They've got absolutely fantastic baked goods. That's actually the reason I come here. The coffee is also good, but you can get that anywhere. I will say I bought 30 bucks worth of baked goods, and the barista was visibly upset when I didn't tip. I get that 30 bucks is a lot, but you really just handed the pastries to me. Although the bagels and empanadas are good, don't expect to fill up on too much besides the high octane coffee while you are here. Stop in and Luis is happy to share his knowledge on the plethora of coffee varieties he provides. Each variety is especially chosen to match your desired coffee drink. When I stopped in he was brewing El Salvadorian beans for drip coffee. The atmosphere inside First Village coffee is warm and friendly. Along the walls, the shop proudly displays the work of talented local artists. Free parking is available in the lot accross the street. Metered street parking is also available in front of the shop.
