I've been to First Watch before in other locations, but this was my first time at this one. I'm always a huge fan of the fact that they have real maple syrup with their epic waffles. The staff was extremely friendly here, and they went out of their way to accommodate a special needs person in our party. The restaurant had a very cozy vibe, and I love the fact that they had separate areas for a little bit more privacy. If you wanted to catch up with friends. I faced the kitchen in a booth and NO one and I mean NO one had a net on their heads to confine the hair on their heads and there was lots of hair in the kitchen long and short. I thought that was a SC law for restaurant preparation. I was grossed out. The food was not good either. I had a breakfast egg wrap of some kind and the shell was so hard and it was spicy hot. I don't like anything in my mouth that is hot. I want to taste my food. If the kitchen staff wants to make food hot, that should be put on the menu! I will not be back there. read more

The hostess came to table once and never replenished our drinks. She was not familiar with menu and brought me wrong item. Additionally on my way pass the restroom a cook came out the restroom with his hands in his front pants and a glove on one hand and I said to him, did you wash your hands. And he said how would you know. I said you are pulling your hands out from the front of your private area and should wash your hands but he kept going to the kitchen area. Another host was putting her hair up with her hand in a clamp. She didn't wash her hands either. I lost my appetite. Wow what a morning. Sanitation is not a priority for this staff. My grandkids oatmeal was dry and overcooked. He didn't eat one bite. He loves oatmeal but not this one. Added milk didn't help. My granddaughter French toast was dry also. read more

Been there several times before but today was less than. We got there with over an hour before closing but the hostess looked at the clock before seating us. The music was way too loud and we could not hear each other nor could we hear the server who told us she could not hear a patrons order earlier because of the loud music. The potatoes were a combo of very hard burnt pieces with some pieces not fully cooked. Probably will not be back. Too many other great places. The homemade juices are fabulous. read more

Upon entering there were two hostess stands, a small bar area with limited seating, and a waiting area with couches near the bar. We were told we would be 20 to 30 minutes so we opted to sit in the small bar area. There were people on either side of us receiving their food and everything looked appetizing. We ended up ordering chickichanga, and a ham and gruyerre omelette. My chickichanga was delicious and the potatoes and fruit. were perfect. I loved the cheese sauce on top of my dish. My husband said his omelette was fine. Nothing too special--but he LOVED the potatoes. The service at the bar area was great. The ladies were on top of it, and our food came out very quick. There were about five tables for outdoor seating, but they were all taken. One group had a pup with them so it is good to know dogs can be in the outdoor areas. read more

Ordered my usual 2 eggs over medium, bacon and an English muffin. English muffin was raw. Someone didn't know you need to toast the muffin.

Not very busy when we arrived. 3 tables that came in after us were served and we're yet to be asked for our drink order. 15 mins later into waiting we asked the hostess if we could get someone to take our order. 5 mins later our orders were in and another 10 mins to get our drinks. Again at maybe 60% capacity. Utterly insane that we've been overlooked numerous times despite politely asking to be served. read more

What a great spot -- especially if you love all things breakfast! I came here on a Saturday afternoon and waited about 10 minutes for a table. Once I was seated inside, I looked over the extensive menu. I was so happy to see so many healthy breakfast and lunch options. Lovely breakfast at the end of our holiday weekend. We stopped in at 9:30am on Sunday and were the last ones to not have a wait. First Watch gets a solid brunch crowd, so take that into consideration for your breakfast and brunch plans. Daughter chose the breakfast tacos. A good portion with three tacos of scrambled eggs topped with cheese, pico de gallo and a wedge of avocado, served with a small bowl of spicy black beans. Wife chose the smoked salmon benedict. Eggs were poached nicely and served with a small portion of salmon (that appeared to have not been sliced recently). Muffin was undertoasted but the meal was otherwise very good. My main course was the chile chorizo omelet which was spicy and delicious, leaded with chorizo, green chiles, onions and cheese. There was supposed to be a small bowl of pico de gallo on the plate but they brought a strawberry jam with the toast. I did have one bite of the delicious bread which was pre-buttered and notice in the picture that it was not melted because the bread was not hot. The salad was delicious and a nice alternative to potatoes. Other than a few small flubs with my sides, it was a very good meal. Service was friendly and attentive. Always a great option for breakfast/Brunch in Bluffton! Be sure to hop in line via their website while you are on the way, helps get you seated quicker. The bar is also first come, first serve! We love First Watch because it's a great option to get breakfast made with great ingredients and that is not super greasy. There are fresh juices are super great and you should definitely give them a try. I ordered the trailblazer bowl, my husband ordered the chorizo breakfast burrito and then we ended up splitting one ricotta pancake! (The menu says that the pancakes come with two, but you do have the option to just get one, which is plenty as you can see in the photo it takes up the entire plate!) The burrito was super tasty and not too spicy. The pancake was huge and the lemon sauce on top is not too sweet, and it's served with warm syrup! The bowl was light and was perfect for a healthy option. My only note was that our food didn't come out as hot as it should've been, but we were also there at 11:00 am on a Sunday so they were busy! Overall, this is definitely a place you need to try if you like good flavors and fresh healthy options. We will be back as it is one of our favorite spots. read more

This place has a nice vibe, the waitress came up and was really patient with me while I was digging to find a drink. The brunch food is really good from the two times I've been, their enchilada was definitely an acquired taste but my girl liked it from the bites she got. I forgot specifically what it was called but she had a toast with lavender whipped cream and blueberries, which was really tasty from the few bites she'd share. Unfortunately, substandard service is a far too frequent issue at this location. At 9:00 am this morning there was plenty of labor standing around, with only, a hand full of occupied tables but no one to greet us as we walked in. We waited at the front and watched several people walk by us with zero acknowledgment. I finally asked someone if we could dine and we were brought to an area with two other occupied tables, plus us. After five minutes, a server walked by us without even making eye contact and proceeded to the other table that had been served. I caught her attention as she was walking away (still without even looking at us) and she says she would get our server. A couple of minutes later, another server walked by us, still without acknowledging us, and proceeded to the other occupied table , who apparently also not yet been acknowledged. As she spent an inordinate amount of time at that table, we decided we should not spend our dollars to patronize an establishment that does not know the basic fundamentals of customer service. The woman who sat us had been standing at the register (with no customers checking out), perusing the dining room several times with us in her direct line of sight, yet no sense to wonder why we did not have water, or any service. She was the same one that we had to ask to be seated, but not until she had finished mixing her coffee at the bar. Upon leaving, I explained the complete apathy shown by ALL employees we had encountered and her response was to ask me if I'd like some water. Not an apology, but a patronizing smile that communicated she could not care less. I did tell her she may want to help by learning the fundamentals of working in a restaurant who serves the public. This is not the first time we have experienced subpar service at this location, but it will be our last, as there are far too many great restaurants that deserve our patronage. So I tried really really hard to not like this place. An initial scan of the menu left me feeling that I would be unsatisfied as a vegetarian and my gluten-free son would have few options. But I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the Market Skillet Hash which was beautiful as well as delicious. The toast that came with it was incredible as well. My son was able to get gluten free toast along with his egg, bacon, and fruit (kids meal). My daughter got the kids' meal pancake and they substituted her meat for fruit with little fanfare. Her pancake was HUGE! I included a picture with her tiny hand as a reference. The kid's meals are definitely generous and even include a drink. It should also be noted that we arrived about 30 minutes before closing. But we were never made to feel rushed at all. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. We had a little bit of a wait at the end, but it was closing time and I am sure our waitress was busy helping close down the restaurant. We are getting a First Watch near our house. We frequented First Watch over the last few years but last two times they were off. Yesterday I ordered Eggs Benedict Florentin. It looked very good but it was less than warm. Disappointing and I would have told served right away but she never stopped by to see if all was ok. My friends pancakes were not very hot either. At end meal we saw server with our check and I commented how unhappy I had been about temp of my breakfast. She said, oh sorry, you should have told me. Very nice looking building on the outside. Walked in and was greeted kindly by the hostess. We were visiting for breakfast and ordered "the works" omelet that came with bacon, ham, sausage, onions and mushrooms. Also came with potato tea and toast. Everything was presented well and looked neat and delicious. Omelette was a good color and carefully folded. Chef did a great job taking his time and taking pride in his/her work.
