Loaded Bar-B-Q Baker with smoked turkey
    Susan R.

Stopped in for a quick dinner with friends. My first time here was a year ago on vacation and I enjoyed the barbecue baker (giant) potato so much, I had to get back. Our server was Layla, and she was an absolute delight--super friendly and attentive--and generous with the yummy biscuits! My sis swears by the smoked turkey plate. I had the marbled brisket plate with Carolina mustard BBQ sauce for dipping. The collards were also very good, a bit spicy. I enjoyed the classic rock playing overhead. It's a great spot for families and friends to dine without breaking the bank. My not-so-naked potato side was a meal in itself. No room for dessert this trip!

First time trying this restaurant it was good. I wanted ribs but they were sold out. I got the 1/4 chicken with baked beans and Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese was too gummy, the cheese used overpowered the dish. (Yuck) The biscuits were amazing!!! Waitress was friendly but wasn't very attentive and no it was not busy. The restaurant was clean, warm and reminded me going to aunties house for a weekend BBQ.

Traveling to Florida, we stayed in Hardeesville, SC Found this delicious BBQ place 20 minutes from hotel. Best brisket and sweet tea ever! The server Ed was very friendly and efficient. We teased him that the restaurant should be called Ed, Jim N Nick's BBQ

Service was 5 stars. Waiter was attentive, offered good suggestions, and informative. Brisket was dry (in our opinion). It didn't taste bad, but probably was brisket that had been there all day or just over cooked/reheated. Not sure. Mac and cheese was good, didn't taste like a box mix. Collards were like my grandmas. If you know, you know. The jalapeño cheddar sausage was really good too! But it was a lot for me to eat. I could only eat half of one considering I also had brisket and 2 sides. We were traveling and stopped in for dinner before we got on the road for the night. I'd stop in again if had the chance to give it another try.

Jim N Nick is local BBQ place with sandwiches, plate or burgers. The menu has fried catfish. The restaurant seating area is nice. The table is a bit sticky. We got the Karl's Catfish plate. The dish come with fried fresh catfish. I got two sides as collard green and baked bean. The two side is tasty. The fish is very fresh. The second dish is beef brisket sandwich. The brisket is very juicy and good marinated bbq. The two side for this dish is coleslaw and potato salad. Overall is a good restaurant. Definitely go for the brisket.

5-30-24 Noon Ladies luncheon for a group of 14. They had a nice room off to the right setup for us. To tell you the truth I would never have had come to this place on my own. Hubby and I aren't big bar b q people. The person who headed up the group said they have killer Mac n cheese as well as great cheddar biscuits. So we go lots of parking out front. Once parked we met the rest of our group inside the door way and were shown to our table. Now get this we had one server and she was a rock star handling this large group. Especially with additional persons arriving after our initial order for drinks were placed. I had the unsweetened ice tea with plenty of fresh lemons. They even had extra lemons on the table as well as plenty of biscuits. I had three biscuits they were light and fluffy with a touch of sweetness to them. It could have been the whipped butter served with them. But no I had the last one without butter and it was still just as delicious. For lunch I asked which salad was most popular and I got the smoked chicken salad with honey mustard dressing. Note the dressing was very little too. Tasted freshly made and certainly complimented the salad and didn't weigh it down. The salad had plenty of iceberg lettuce, cheddar cheese, almonds, tomatoes and croutons. It was the perfect balance of each of the items to make the most delicious salad and lunch. It goes without saying too much food to finish it all. Definitely will be back to try out many of their menu items.

Not a great experience today. They were not very busy at all yet we waited a long time to be addressed at our table. The waitress finally came and apologized for the delay stating they weren't sure who was supposed to be serving us. She may have been new and in that case needs way more training. The burger was dry and our waitress only offered to refill our drinks when we were done eating. I had asked for biscuits because I saw other waiters bringing out biscuits, and she said that they were behind on them. Yet she never brought them out and other tables still received theirs. When we asked for a second time when we were done with dinner.. she said oh yeah you want more biscuits?... We never got any in the first place then we were told that they would be free. I thought that was part of the meal, no?

We love Jim 'N Nick's! Anytime we are in an area with Jim 'N Nick's, we always try to go since we don't have one where we live. We come to Hilton Head at least once a year and always hit the Bluffton location at least once as we are passing through. Everything we have had is always good. The mac 'n cheese is my favorite from any restaurant! The cheddar biscuits are always a hit too!

I sure do love this business! The drive-through is clutch when you do not have time to eat in. Hands-down my favorite thing on the menu is the mac & cheese bowl with whatever meat you want on top. It is called loaded mac & cheese and is not on the newest menu, but you can see it in one of my original pictures. I love adding barbecue to the mac & cheese and whatever meat I have chosen that day. I asked for it and they know what I am talking about! Do yourself a favor and get the cheese biscuits as well! It is only $1.99 for six of them. Some meals come with them and some do not. Make sure you get your hands on some!

I placed a to-go order, this is what was given to me as their queso and pork appetizer. I have ordered in the past and was rather pleased with the appetizer, but today I am very disappointed in the cold slop given.

They use a cheese blend round bun. It really isn't a turkey club. It's more of a turkey sandwich with the fixings of a club. What I did not like at all was the bread. For the price of the sandwich though, I would have expected more turkey on it. There is a much better option across the street. Try Downtown Deli. It is superior to this establishment. The bread they use is similar to an airy pizza crust, and topped with their three blends of cheese that are melted onto the bread before the meats and toppings are added. I've had almost the entire menu over the years, but my favorite is the simple sliced turkey, with lettuce, tomato (which I opt out of sometimes just because I'm not a huge tomato on a sandwich guy, unless it's an actual tomato sandwich...), onion, and then I ask to add their garlic mayo and banana peppers, and sometimes jalapeños. Their turkey club is a second favorite if I'm craving bacon on my sandwich (they also have a jalapeño bacon!). Their other deli sandwiches are great, like the original with a mix of luncheon and other deli meats. I love their lesser known meatball sandwich and cheeseburger. My wife's favorite is the pastrami. The staff at Alvin Ord's are some of the nicest folks I've met in the restaurant industry, and they're always super helpful to new and old customers alike. The vibe of the shop is like a little beachside surf shop, super casual and comfy, with indoor seating at mismatched tables, along with two screened in porches--one that's dog friendly. I can't recommend this place enough. I'd eat here every other day if I could--and that's only because I usually turn my regular sized sandwich into two days of lunch.

The manager was more than just nice - she was warm, friendly, patient, and kind. She was BUSY. Phone calls, long line, deliveries, and she handled them with ease and without a drop of sweat. She was kind to every person she spoke to, including her staff, and I love that leadership. The women who brought out our food and snagged our dishes were also kind, funny, and they just knew how to best make that restaurant sing. People smiled at them because they've come here 100 times, and each time they were treated with kindness and familiarity. The FOOD. The value for dollar is HIGH here. $10.99 for a monster meatball sub with delicious meatballs and plenty of tomato sauce and cheese just melting all over this delicious sandwich. Every cheesy melty bite was amazing, per my kiddo, and when he couldn't finish it, my husband happily finished the sandwich down to the last bite. We got the Philly sandwich on a great gluten free bun and the Power Bowl with shrimp. Both were WONDERFUL! The Philly y'all. ALL DAY. The peppers, the deliciously seasoned beef, the great bun, all fabulous! The Power Bowl was filling, fresh, and I loved all the plump shrimp! I also appreciated that they put the dressing on the side! Cappy's Allergen Friendly Bakery sells their cookies here, and do NOT sleep on the Iced Oatmeal cookie. Some may hesitate because it is soy, dairy, nut, and gluten free, but that may have been one of the best cookies I've eaten ever. Perfectly balanced and chewy, not overiced, and the cinnamon in there was perfect. I savored that cookie for as long as possible. Cap all this off with some unsweet mint tea, and perfection! We will absolutely come here again - I am so impressed by the people and the food, and I cannot wait to see their continued success!

The fried squash was a home run with almost a tempura type batter over yellow squash spears. They were fried to crispy golden, the batter stayed on, and the buttermilk dressing was a wonderful accompaniment. I could have eaten the plate full for lunch and stopped at that! Their breakfast and brunch menu is extensive, but I settled on their 2 piece Fried Chicken with 3 sides and opted for mashed potatoes, stewed okra and tomatoes & fresh cucumber salad. Delish!
