Pork BBQ is delicious and paired with one of the delicious sides - it's worth coming back for more next week!

I ordered the brisket, turkey, mac and cheese, and onion rings from Nick and Jim's. The onion rings and mac and cheese were excellent, and both the brisket and turkey were tender and cooked to perfection. Unfortunately, the meat was far too salty. The brisket was so heavily seasoned that I had to drink water throughout the evening, and the turkey was nearly as salty. As a catering chef who has prepared brisket myself, I have never experienced meat this over-seasoned. The salt completely overwhelmed the flavor and ruined what could have been a very enjoyable meal. After spending $44, I expected much better. I even received a call from my doctor regarding my blood pressure, which made the excessive salt especially concerning. I was there for lunch just as they opened at 11 a.m. We there was a group of us who were seated right away. It was quite chilly inside and they had the fans going which they said can't be turned off. They started us off with the cheesy biscuits/muffins which were so good, I had 2. For lunch I ordered the Classic Pulled Pork which came with 2 sides. I didn't notice that one of the side cost an additional $.99 which was the brisket chili. I still would have ordered it. The pulled pork was very tender and had a good smoke and BBQ flavor. I also recommend the BBQ corn on the cob. Had a nice seasoning blend along with a butter type blend soaked into the foil wrap. The one end of the corn has a large wooden skewer/toothpick for holding. It was very fresh and not overcooked. The pulled pork was $14.99. Our waitress Tracey did a great job serving the 7 of us. No problem with separate checks either. read more

Stopped in for a quick dinner with friends. My first time here was a year ago on vacation and I enjoyed the barbecue baker (giant) potato so much, I had to get back. Our server was Layla, and she was an absolute delight--super friendly and attentive--and generous with the yummy biscuits! My sis swears by the smoked turkey plate. I had the marbled brisket plate with Carolina mustard BBQ sauce for dipping. The collards were also very good, a bit spicy. I enjoyed the classic rock playing overhead. It's a great spot for families and friends to dine without breaking the bank. My not-so-naked potato side was a meal in itself. No room for dessert this trip! read more

We stopped in on a cold winter afternoon; it was mid-30s outside which might explain the temp inside but let's just say we kept our jackets on. The pulled pork was outstanding and we did like the pork n beans n the potato salad sides. The cole slaw n Mac n cheese were nothing to write about. However, the temp of the hot food was warm at best, borderline cold. Not sure if it was the inside temp of the restaurant or if the waitress left it waiting too long in the kitchen. Either way, disappointing. But we will return someday b/c of the great pulled pork. read more

First time trying this restaurant it was good. I wanted ribs but they were sold out. I got the 1/4 chicken with baked beans and Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese was too gummy, the cheese used overpowered the dish. (Yuck) The biscuits were amazing!!! Waitress was friendly but wasn't very attentive and no it was not busy. Service was 5 stars. Waiter was attentive, offered good suggestions, and informative. Brisket was dry (in our opinion). It didn't taste bad, but probably was brisket that had been there all day or just over cooked/reheated. Not sure. Mac and cheese was good, didn't taste like a box mix. Collards were like my grandmas. If you know, you know. The jalapeño cheddar sausage was really good too! But it was a lot for me to eat. I could only eat half of one considering I also had brisket and 2 sides. Jim N Nick is local BBQ place with sandwiches, plate or burgers. The menu has fried catfish. The restaurant seating area is nice. The table is a bit sticky. We got the Karl's Catfish plate. The dish come with fried fresh catfish. I got two sides as collard green and baked bean. The two side is tasty. The fish is very fresh. The second dish is beef brisket sandwich. The brisket is very juicy and good marinated bbq. The two side for this dish is coleslaw and potato salad. Overall is a good restaurant. Definitely go for the brisket. read more

5-30-24 Noon Ladies luncheon for a group of 14. They had a nice room off to the right setup for us. To tell you the truth I would never have had come to this place on my own. Hubby and I aren't big bar b q people. The person who headed up the group said they have killer Mac n cheese as well as great cheddar biscuits. So we go lots of parking out front. Once parked we met the rest of our group inside the door way and were shown to our table. Now get this we had one server and she was a rock star handling this large group. Especially with additional persons arriving after our initial order for drinks were placed. I had the unsweetened ice tea with plenty of fresh lemons. They even had extra lemons on the table as well as plenty of biscuits. I had three biscuits they were light and fluffy with a touch of sweetness to them. It could have been the whipped butter served with them. But no I had the last one without butter and it was still just as delicious. For lunch I asked which salad was most popular and I got the smoked chicken salad with honey mustard dressing. Note the dressing was very little too. Tasted freshly made and certainly complimented the salad and didn't weigh it down. The salad had plenty of iceberg lettuce, cheddar cheese, almonds, tomatoes and croutons. It was the perfect balance of each of the items to make the most delicious salad and lunch. It goes without saying too much food to finish it all. Not a great experience today. They were not very busy at all yet we waited a long time to be addressed at our table. The waitress finally came and apologized for the delay stating they weren't sure who was supposed to be serving us. She may have been new and in that case needs way more training. The burger was dry and our waitress only offered to refill our drinks when we were done eating. I had asked for biscuits because I saw other waiters bringing out biscuits, and she said that they were behind on them. Yet she never brought them out and other tables still received theirs. When we asked for a second time when we were done with dinner.. she said oh yeah you want more biscuits?... We never got any in the first place then we were told that they would be free. We found this place Overpriced and fatty brisket. Portions are very small. I do not recommend this place for barbecued brisket.

Decided to do take-out as we were too busy to make dinner. We ordered the three smoked meat plate with two sides, (beans and coleslaw), cheddar biscuits and an order of onion rings. We had a bit of a drive back home, so the rings were the natural choice for immediate nibbles as we knew they wouldn't be great by the time we hit Beaufort. The onion rings were OK - not even hot, but still crunchy. Desperately needed a sprinkle of salt. Our three meat selection included ribs, pork and brisket. The "spare" ribs were not trimmed at all. It was hard to find a clean piece of meat as the fat, gristle and who knows what else hugged the bone and interfered with every bite. The Carolina pork tossed in a vinegar based sauce was meh. The edible brisket pieces were tender, beefy and succulent. But again there was more waste as some "pieces" were nothing but fat. The baked beans were decent, the coleslaw just OK. Cheddar biscuit? This was nothing but a sugar ladened muffin with no discernible taste or flavor. We will stick to getting our BBQ fix at home. read more

We just moved back to the area after 4 years. We went in last night and the food was awful. The meat was flavorless and tough, the greens were freezing cold, and my baked potato cut like rubber. We are pretty sure the food was old and reheated. Our waitress came and saw that our plates were full still and we told her we didn't want boxes. She didn't even ask if the food was good, because she obviously knew. We paid way too much for the awful experience and won't be going back. We love Jim 'N Nick's! Anytime we are in an area with Jim 'N Nick's, we always try to go since we don't have one where we live. We come to Hilton Head at least once a year and always hit the Bluffton location at least once as we are passing through. Everything we have had is always good. The mac 'n cheese is my favorite from any restaurant! The cheddar biscuits are always a hit too! read more

I sure do love this business! The drive-through is clutch when you do not have time to eat in. Hands-down my favorite thing on the menu is the mac & cheese bowl with whatever meat you want on top. It is called loaded mac & cheese and is not on the newest menu, but you can see it in one of my original pictures. I love adding barbecue to the mac & cheese and whatever meat I have chosen that day. I asked for it and they know what I am talking about! Do yourself a favor and get the cheese biscuits as well! It is only $1.99 for six of them. Some meals come with them and some do not. Not amazing. Bbq sandwich small, macaroni was good. But no IPA beer...it was out and only one kind... no onion rings....what is bbq without onion rings. Be careful of the "trimmings" that are quite extra costs. Service was ok as server only came back for the check. Cheese rolls were good, but no butter like other restaurants. OMGoodness! This outpost of the popular Southern BBQ chain is a solid choice. It's counter service, so get in line while deciding what you are going to enjoy. There IS a full bar, but you order that separately from your food. You honestly can't go wrong with the pulled pork sandwich and a side of slaw (locals hint: put the slaw on your sandwich!) They have three difference BBQ sauces that they can give you on the side. All three were different and tasty. Softdrinks and tea are self-serve, so you never go thirsty! There is equally the amount of seats/tables outside as there is in, so if the weather is hospitable, then head out to their covered/enclosed patio! Groups might be more comfortable outside. There are a plethora of TVs, so this is a good place to watch sports! read more

I have been in search of great Texas style brisket in the Bluffton / HHI area. Every place I have dipped into has been a disappointment until I walked I here. The brisket mouth watering perfect. My husbands muffins and collards were very good. Not so for my smoked chicken salad. It was supposed to have bacon, smoked onions, almonds, corn. I made a joke about not finding any of these ingredients but then literally looked for them: a couple of microscopic pieces of bacon, literally four pieces of corn, and a quarter of an almond. I complained to the waitress and got a tiny container of unions --- not smoked onions, just raw onions. My husband had the Carolina-style barbecue. It was very dry. Very, very disappointed for what is a very pricey restaurant posing as a real BBQ joint. The waitress didn't know what to do with our concerns. Always sad to see a place that used to be so good turn into somewhere that isn't the best anymore. The restaurant was not packed at all, we were one of maybe 10 tables in that whole place. The best part of our visit included the wings and the drink that I wish I could remember the name of. We have been coming here for years and it used to be the best bbq we've ever had, anywhere. Our service this visit was not the best, and the server seemed like she was having a bad day. Our food was messed up and we did not get the refill of their delicious cheddar biscuits that we requested two times. The meat was also incredibly dry. They were also out of a decent amount of things. For dinner we got the ribs, and the pick 3 meats. It seems as if they've taken some things off the menu that were really good! Three of us went in for an early dinner on 11/16/2021. The smell of smoke was great when we walked up to the door. We were promptly greeted and shown to a table. The table or the floor was so uneven I had to keep one arm on it to stop the wobble. Two of us had the Carolina style pulled pork,l. The pork was hard and dried out. We both had to order extra sauce to give the pork some moisture. The side dishes were good, in particular the Mac & Cheese. Dry pork? Was it left over from lunch? The brisket was delicious especially with the barbecue sauce, the macaroni and beans were also amazing. I usually don't write reviews when my only experience is through delivery, but the food was so great that I decided to write this review. This is my go-to spot for BBQ whenever I have cravings. I've tried their wings, loaded Mac, and muffins. Everything tasted great every time. I highly recommend ordering their Mac and cheese as a side whenever you go here!
