First Watch is one of those places--if we're in a city that has one, we're going. It never misses. It was spring break, so it was definitely busy, but the wait was only about 20 minutes and I love that they text you when your table is ready--super convenient so you're not just standing around. Jenny was hustling! She was juggling our table along with a few larger ones and still kept everything moving smoothly. You can tell she was working hard and we appreciated it. I'm a creature of habit but also not at all I always order a hash...just a different one every time. This time I went with the seasonal Chimichurri Steak & Eggs hash. I got the chimichurri on the side because it can be a little overpowering, and that was the right move. The hash itself was solid--flavorful, hearty, and exactly what I expect from First Watch. Also ordered a mimosa...well, hold the mimosa--just champagne lol. My husband got the BEC and said it was really good too. The food was delicious! This was my first time here and I'm so glad I came. Although there were a lot of people, it wasn't loud or had a crowded feeling. The service was quick and attentive, probably because I was the first one in that morning. I tried the seasonal menu item that caught my eye in the photo. It was a breakfast sandwich stacked with bacon, a pork sausage patty, scrambled folded eggs, cheese, and a sweet jam, all on a croissant. I skipped the house-pickled jalapeños because I wasn't ready to go that bold in the morning. The sandwich was huge and filling. I didn't eat it as a handheld, as it can get pretty messy. Overall, a solid four-star breakfast. Next time, I'd ask for the sweet jam on the side, since too much of it kind of overpowered the eggs. That said, I do appreciate the wide variety of options on the menu, there's definitely something for everyone. I ordered the power breakfast bowl and while I really enjoyed the mushrooms, the dish overall was very bland. I don't usually eat anything spicy, but I actually had to add hot sauce just to get some flavor out of it, which was disappointing. My boyfriend got the biscuits and gravy and thought it was a bit on the salty side, but not terrible. Nothing was awful, but nothing wowed us either. It was a Saturday morning so I understand but just felt like I wanted the wait time to be more accurate. All of the food came out looking gorgeous. Picture perfect, as you can see. I'm absolutely loving the holiday menu! I tried the cinnamon chip pancakes and their signature potatoes (which are always a favorite). I'm also currently obsessed with their kale tonic - it's surprisingly refreshing. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and delicious. Horrible hosting service! We walked in and nobody acknowledged us. My husband and I both at individual times tried to go in to check in while three workers were standing there. Go to any other location. During my visit, our server (Oscar) was rude, inappropriate, and unprofessional. We waited at our table for over 10 minutes before being acknowledged. When he finally came to take our drink order, we asked to order everything at once because of how long it had taken. While taking our order, we mentioned that we already knew we wanted dessert. For a table of five people, we were given one glass milk bottle-style container of water, and it was never refilled. When he dropped off our food, he made an uncomfortable comment to one of the men at our table while placing his hands on and caressing that person's shoulders, which was inappropriate and made our table uncomfortable. After dropping off our food, he only came by once more, and that was because I had to call him over to ask for more napkins. He later dropped off our check and told us to take our time. At that point, my mom said, "we wanted to order dessert but you never came back." He took the check back, and we placed our dessert order with him. After ringing it in, he returned to our table and said very rudely, "I actually did come back multiple times to check on you," and then proceeded to ask everyone how our food was. The food itself was good, the issue here was the service. EDIT: to the manager that responded and told me to submit a review through their comments system. I did. My family is a fan of First Watch as they have different breakfast options that go beyond the traditional fare and with healthy options. They also have options for my daughter who had an egg sensitivity which takes most of the traditional breakfast options off the table. We don't ever walk away hungry when we eat here and typically don't eat again until later in the afternoon. Our server was friendly and made for a nice way start to our day. What a wonderful breakfast experience. FW is located right outside Champions Gate which can be a traffic hassle in the morning but get past that and you're in a new center with plenty of parking. FW has seating inside and out and when I arrived at 8:30am there was plenty of seating. The menu is a typical American affair with too many items in each selection but I asked the gracious server Carly if I could simplify with a couple of healthy choices combined and she made it happen. Great brunch spot! My husband and I have tired First Watch before, I figured it was time for me to finally write a review. Please be aware if you come on a weekend, there will most likely be a short wait to be seated, approximately 15 to 30 minutes. We have not used this feature before, but they offer a feature to be added to the waitlist from your phone before arriving. This could be helpful for those looking to be added to the waitlist while commuting to the restaurant. The host stand can become very overwhelming, since there is a very small area to wait, and the hosts seem to be often overwhelmed. Every time we dine here, we are pleasantly surprised by the friendly service of our servers, and the fresh taste of the food! The food feels very farm to table, and the menu is always changing and adding new dishes using in-season ingredients. I always order a million dollar bloody Mary, which I think is made with wine or sake? The bloody Mary comes with a piece of million dollar bacon, which is pleasantly savory and sweet at the same time. My husband enjoys the mimosa service. This time I tried the pesto quinoa power bowl, and my husband tried the Barbacoa breakfast tacos. We also ordered a side of million dollar bacon and a side of million dollar potatoes, which are both delicious! Every dish we have tried from here has been absolutely delicious. There are many options to choose from, ranging from very healthy to more indulgent. I am marking down one star for the chaotic host stand, as this last time we arrived, we were not greeted upon entering, and we waited about five minutes to be added to the waitlist. Due to the small footprint of the restaurant, and the many patrons inside, the ambience can be very loud and overwhelming at times. Our waitress seemed to be a bit off - she wasnt completely present, and wasn't overly helpful, just enough to take our order, serve us, and give us the check. And, I haven't been to first watch in a while but one thing I noticed was the portion size was smaller than I remembered. It's the same amount of money but smaller portions. Christine came by to take my order & saw I was busy so told me to take my time! She swung by 2 more times as I juggled calls to doctors & airlines. I pointed to Tres Leches French Toast almost blindly. When it came, I was stunned by how awesome it was! I told them this is the best French toast I have ever eaten! No utensils were given and honestly if they are not going to be given do not make it an option.
