Though from Michigan, I was treated well by this Ohio based restaurant. Then my server, Hannah took me, seemingly by the hand and guided me through the entire menu the drinks everything. I ended up ordering a ginger drink, which was so good but then Hannah, recommended her favorite, which was a kale drink and she brought me a free sample and it was awesome. Then she made sure I ordered the right food and it was right on time if not sooner and I just couldn't say enough about her. And then she kept checking up on me even though she didn't need to because they have two handy innovations: syrup in a bottle that you can just use as much as you want, and decanter of coffee rather than coming back and having us wait for refills, we can do our own refills. Now that wrinkle is from the management, which I also talk to, and they are awesome people with great vision. So back to the food it was prepared perfectly. I'm gonna display a picture because I was so jealous to eat the food. I have it before I even took the picture so please excuse the picture except that it does make the same. This food is too good to wait for. So next time I'm in Columbus. Today's visit gave me a positive new opinion of First Watch. I had eaten here several times before and never had a very good experience. I really enjoyed it this time. I tried the taco al pastor hash special and a "morning meditation" juice. Both were fresh and delicious. Although they were very busy, the food also came out quickly. Another amazing experience at this location. We came here around 11 on a Saturday with three people total, so we had about a 20-25 minute wait. There's not a whole lot of seating while you're waiting, but there's a few benches outside. It seemed to be very busy which makes sense! Afterwards, we got a booth, and we immediately served our drinks. It took us a bit to figure out what we wanted, but our waitress was very kind and patient with us. Our food came out very quickly, and everything (including modifications) was correct! It's very cute inside, and even when it's fully crowded, you can still hear everyone at your table as the acoustics are good in there. This location is overall a great little spot for breakfast, brunch or lunch... so many options to choose from. If it is really busy parking can be hard to find and you may end up parking far away. Solid food. Everything tastes fresh to order. They had some seasonal quirky items that I passed on because they looked to sweet and dessert-ish and I was in the mood for breakfast. Omelet could've been cheesier. I ordered an omelet with bacon, sausage, ham, mushrooms and maybe onions. It was okay. They chopped up some sausage links and put it in the omelet. Bacon was crispy and crimini mushrooms were fresh tasting yet again it could've been ooey gooey cheesier so I guess I should've asked for extra cheese. Cubed potatoes could've been crispier but was okay. Wheat toast was over slathered with butter but the bread they used for the toast was fabulous and will probably make me step up my bread buying game when I go to the grocery store. They've got an expansive menu including cocktails and mimosas and things also come out quick. Other than the toast nothing else tasted oily and greasy. Nevertheless it's solid but I'm not blown away. There are several breakfast type restaurants you pass on the way to getting here that make the SAME TYPES of breakfast entrees yet the only thing that sets this place apart are the alcoholic cocktails and mimosas they offer during the weekday as soon as they open as opposed to a brunch type place that opens at 10am or 11am on the weekends. The over easy egg in the sandwich squirted all over the place like projectile vomit on my first bite (that one was partly on me because I didn't realize the egg was over easy - it was stated on the menu). The mayo was glopped on what May have been sautéed spinach had an anchovy taste (not tasty). The country potatoes were ok but had an overpowering herb/spice taste. I am very disappointed as this is my worst experience at First Watch, all the others have been pretty positive. Ordered from Uber eats, they had my order wrong. I don't eat runny eggs and they brought runny eggs. The extra $4.50 I paid for the potatoes was a mistake as they were burned on the outside and undercooked on the inside I mean come on how do you mess up potatoes. The bacon was soggy and small. When I first walked in I saw such a beautiful little restaurant! I was excited to eat my lemon curd and ricotta pancakes while my husband had the traditional breakfast! Let me say the lemon curd was fabulous with the fresh strawberries. The pancakes were a little dry though and definitely could have used some butter! Now my husband's breakfast was nothing too special but he said it was good. I stole a piece of his bacon and it made me curious in why it was considered to be the best bacon. It was thin and the cut of bacon kinda made me sad. A better thicker slice would have been where it's at for sure!! I do recommend this place though!! Secondly, the service is prompt and personable. As a neophyte to this location it became clear to me quickly I was surrounded by loyal regulars who banter with the affable and experienced staff. My wife and my needs were accommodated to promptly, and we enjoyed the experience. I haven't even gotten to the food. It's nothing spectacular, but it is solid, plated with a creative flair on rustic plates and in suitable portion size relative to the cost. My mom and i were out and about today, when we decided to get brunch at First Watch. It was around noon on a Monday and was decently busy. We were greeted immediately and sat within minutes. Our hilarious server was fantastic! We have him all the time and always forget him name. But he has been there for years and is always in a fantastic! Food was FABULOUS as always.
