We stood at the "Please Wait to Be Seated" sign for about five minutes without being greeted or acknowledged. As first-time visitors, we were unsure of the process and expected at least some guidance. During that time, several staff members appeared to notice us but did not make eye contact or offer assistance. Unfortunately, the lack of acknowledgment made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable, so we decided not to dine there. We had split a 1/2 burger and got an order of onion rings. The burger was good though I didn't think to ask for it cooked to a medium temperature. Came by around 9:15 ish on a Sunday with a couple friends. They come here on occasion and love it. They were busy but still seats and tables open. We sat at a booth. Me and one of my table mates got coffee to start. Nothing special but does the job if you want caffeine. They come around a lot to see if you want refills. I got the 2 eggs, which come with hash and toast. Delicious! I was pretty hungry and ate it all up. My friend got 3 pancakes then added bacon and the other got an egg and a biscuit. He had eaten earlier. Good prices for good food. These days, I'm happy to salt and pepper my eggs and potatoes myself. My friend has high blood pressure and can't do much sodium anyway. We didnt start here -we started at the "authentic" mexican restaurant in the same strip. No shade to the Mexican restaurant but we sat down there and my 83 yr old mother goes.... Huh. I dont feel like Mexican. (Gives me the can we leave vibe and look) so we left a tip for water and walked four stores down and came here. Mom walked into the diner and goes "yes, perfect". Lol. You walk in and the sign says seat yourself. There are lots of seating options. There is a long counter with stools. Opposite to that are booths against a wall front of the store there arensome tables in the window bay. Walls are decorated with a lot of Marilyn Monroe photos ect. Its cute. We plop into the booth. A server arrives with waters. Mom doesn't have to really look over the menu... her eyes light up. She instantly zones in on what she wants. "Ooooh I will have the philly steak ". I quickly decide to order a gyro salad. Food comes quickly. The philly steak came with a ton of chips. Mom goes "its good but the bun isnt a hoagie bun (it was beginning to sog) and it needs more cheese.... Other than that...yum". Im not quite sure what that means. So I ask her "would you want to come here again? " She says. Oh yes, then shrugs and says "just wont get this". Mom grew up in Downtown Philly... not the suburbs of Philly... she's judgy about her hoagies. Lol My greek salad (with gyro meat) was fresh, crisp. Had plenty of olives,cucumbers and tomatoes. Now I like gyros but this gyro meat I did not like at all. Like I would give the meat a 1 out of 5. I literally picked it all off and put it to the side. Disliked that. I did like the salad itself. That was like a 3.5 to 4 out of 5. Would get seasoned chicken on it. As far as the restaurant itself: I also would come again I would probably get breakfast or a hamburger, tbo. I've been meaning to come to one of the locations for a couple years now, and today it just finally worked out. Met a friend here for lunch. I looked at the breakfast menu, but for once, out of 365 days in the year, I wasn't feeling sausage gravy and biscuits. I did end up getting country fried steak, with the sausage gravy on top. He got the meatloaf. We both got mashed potatoes and gravy, and coleslaw, as our sides; the potatoes were fine, coleslaw was pretty good. My friend's meatloaf was huge and very finely ground, nicely flavored, a good but slightly different rendition. My steak was excellent; the sausage gravy was fine, but didn't really seem homemade. Still, on top of the steak and the potatoes it worked very well. Service was great. There's already hot sauce on the table. Very reasonable prices for the huge quantities of good food we got. We came at 11 on a weekday and it was about half full, not bad. By the time we left at noon. it was pretty busy. I'll definitely try the other location, and come back to this one if I'm nearby. read more

This diner is where it's at! The space is bright and uplifting. I came here before work on a Saturday morning at around 7. There were plenty of seating options available so I chose to sit at the bar. The music was really fun and got my day off to a good start. The decor is classic diner. Very fun and old school. There's plenty of parking, too, which is very meaningful to someone like me who is used to the downtown spots. The food is fantastic. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are excellent. I did the Linworth Classic with eggs and ham and it was just what I needed. The coffee really hit the spot, too! The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Still coming back. They're solid. A few hiccups in the past where they've been closed randomly with no notice, no signs posted. But when they're open, they're worth it. Coffee topped up. A cute and classic diner vibe!! The staff were truly incredible as well. The breakfast menu is super simple and customizable with the a la carte section! I ordered a pancake and two eggs, which came out super hot and tasted great. The focus of the restaurant is speed. They have a limited amount of seating and are quite busy, as such it is quite a quantity over quality establishment. The omelette was poorly mixed with a broken sauce. The location felt cramped due to the number of full tables and the waitress while wonderful, was quick to ask if the food was "okay". We were there for lunch on December 11. One of us ordered the vegetarian omelette platter. One of us ordered the fish platter. The fish on the fish platter was in edible. It was gray and incredibly tough to even chew. I asked the waitress to come and inspect the fish she did and then she brought over a senior waitress to inspect the fish. The senior waitress said that it didn't look right. They took the plate and showed it to the cooks and then dumped the plate in the trash. The person who ordered the fish ordered a hamburger and fries and coleslaw. The hamburger was so overcooked she could barely eat any of it. The fries were fine. We will not go back. Had the chance to check out George's Linworth Diner and was very pleased by our experience. It's a small diner but has plenty of seating and the service was efficient and quick despite how busy they were. There was a wait of about 30 minutes, which was expected for a weekend morning. The ambiance is pretty typical for a diner but there are plenty of unique pictures, signs, and the coffee cups were also fun. I ordered the buckeye pancakes with a side of scrambled eggs. The pancakes were fluffy with a nice amount of peanut butter and chocolate chips. My brother had a chicken sandwich that was delicious. We also had a cinnamon roll that was pretty good but not my favorite that I have tried. All in all I definitely recommend George's to all diner lovers. Basic diner drinks and food. It pretty much has what you expect should be here. The menu has breakfast and lunch. Coffee is pretty obvious at any diner. It's 2.50 with free refills. This isn't high quality stuff but you wouldn't expect that. As for the food there's the classics. For breakfast they have things like pancakes. The brunch and lunch includes things like burgers and steaks. A few vegetarian friendly items here. There aren't many but there's some. I tried the Vegetable Gyro. It's $6.50 and on a pita. This includes cucumbers, lettuce, onions, peppers, and tomatoes. It comes with a tzatziki sauce of some kind. This is good with Italian dressing though. It comes with a side of chips. This is pretty good and not what I call expensive. It gets very busy at breakfast. Lunch can get busy too and it can be slow getting food. I had breakfast at George's Diner this weekend with friends and it was very enjoyable. There was a bit of a wait but was completely worth it! Once we were seated, our friendly waitress quickly greeted us, brought coffee and took our orders. I had the Greek Omelette and it was good, didn't blow my socks off but was tasty. Next time I'll probably order something different as my friends all really loved their meals. As for the ambiance, George's is a cool modern restaurant set up like an old time diner complete with eating bar and lots of booths. A little cluttered but clean. Our very friendly server came right over and gave us our menu and took our drink order. When she came with our drinks, we placed our order. After a little wait, we were served our meals, and everything was hot and fresh. I ordered the steak to be cooked medium and it was a little on the dry side, but still very tasty. The home fries were good. They were crisp in spots, and there was a good amount of them. I ordered my eggs scrambled and they were fine. It also came with toast, so I ordered white. Everything about my meal was good, it was filling and overall tasted good. I tried a little bit of sausage gravy and biscuits, and it just wasn't my type of gravy, it was not the type I like, I personally prefer Bob Evans gravy over anyone's. My co-worker really liked her omelet, she said it was full of flavor and was very large in size. We were both happy with our meals and if I am ever in the area again, I will stop by. read more

This is a great little spot in Linworth. I was a little put off by some of the negative reviews, but decided to go and check it out for myself. This place is busy, but i was seated in less than 5 minutes (and counter spots were immediately available.). I ordered steak and eggs and my girlfriend ordered the garbage omelette. My steak was a little chewy, but acceptable for the price. The garbage omelette was incredible. The service was outstanding, which seems to contradict a few reviews i read before going. Great food here! We usually go on the weekends around the times when it is typically busy and have to wait, but it really is worth it. Sundays seem to be busier than Saturdays for some reason. Sometimes the service is not always the best because they are short staffed some days. Also when you go in make sure to pay attention the the sign that either says please wait to be seated or seat yourself. It can be a free for all sometimes especially if the hostess does not come over for a while and there are 6, 7, 8 groups of people all waiting and no names have been taken. Nice breakfast place. Fairly new but apparently a copy of the beechwold diner? I don't know. Walked in on a busy Sunday morning and hit the timing perfect as we were seated almost immediately. Super bonus! I ordered a Florentine Benedict off the special menu which had tomato and spinach and bacon bits on top. I added slices of bacon which were very good and a generous serving. The Benedict's was cooked nicely...the eggs poached perfectly and a good amount of hollandaise on top. Not too much...it was just right. If I were to complain about anything it would be that the tomato was just a little under ripened but there were so many toppings it really didn't matter. I liked that the potatoes were homemade and perfectly crispy. My friend got the classic breakfast and a half order of biscuits and gravy. They enjoyed their meal as well. Whoever was on the grill making the eggs had it right on point today ...perfect again! And the sausage patties were very tasty! Service was fast and efficient and the place is spic and span clean. When I grew up in Brooklyn, Abe Beam was the mayor and the city was a dump. The subway was $0.25 (with a cool token too), a slice was 50, and they still had penny candy on the counter - like a bulk box of loose swedish fish (yes, you reached in took what you paid for). A favorite spot back then, was a greasy spoon diner with low booths that T-boned up against oversized windows. Since it was a corner diner, there was always (mostly) a booth you and your friends could sit 2 to 2 for endless hours of insults and embellished stories. It was called the Promenade Restaurant, but it was a diner if there ever was one. Encased in yellowed walls and brown formica. George's Linworth Diner honors the Greek diner and Promenade of my youth. Its updated of course. Clean, well staffed, and with great food - despite an encyclopedic menu, making the waitress go three rounds of "need another minute" until finally making your choice. Hubby and I got seated right away. Server was pleasant I ordered the veggie omelet with crispy potatoes and rye toast. Hubby had side of corn beef hash and All American breakfast which came with bacon, two eggs, fried potatoes and English muffin. I thought the omelette was okay, not too much flavor and my potatoes were scattered crispy just on the top. Plus was the rye toast was the Jewish rye bread which you don't get much at restaurants anymore. Hubby enjoyed his breakfast but thought corn beef hash was just good.
