Delaney's Diner is easy to find - down the hill on first Avenue just before you get to Northwest Boulevard. Look for the ball diamond & the playground... it's right across the street from there. Plenty of parking in front of the building, and street parking on first Avenue as well. Breakfast selections abound on their well organized menu. A standard farmhouse style breakfast is available, and the omelettes are large and delicious. Many other selections for breakfast if those don't suit you. When I go, I usually visit Delaney's for breakfast even when it's later in the day. If that's not your wish, you'll also find plenty of standard non-breakfast diner style food on the menu. Plenty of table seating in this restaurant, there are some limited spaces at a counter near the kitchen as well. Bathrooms are down the hallway to the rear of the main dining room. There is a rear entrance and some very limited parking behind the building. Be sure to check with the friendly staff before being seated. This will make your visit go faster and more efficiently. read more

A great location, great service and a modern-throwback atmosphere greet you at Grandview's iteration of Delaney's. Along with typical diner breakfast and lunch fare, they offer a few regional hits from Indy (Pork Tenderloin, anyone?) and creative dishes like the Conewich. The Breakfast Conewich had eggs, onions. peppers and cheese wrapped in a buttery fried dough, and all of the components were good. It's a fine vegetarian dish, but if it came with any kind of meat, it would take things to the next level. Instead I had to rely the excess meat from my wife's corned beef hash to get my carnivore fix. Service was quick and kind on a Saturday morning, and there's no reason that I wouldn't return to try their PastiSalvi, Fried Bologna and Hoosier Pork Tenderloin for lunch one day. read more

Had a great meal at Delaney's! Was our first time here and tried one of the favorites -- Indy 500. Meal is definitely large enough to have leftovers. I had heard so many great reviews of this spot, I just had to come check it out. A friend and I decided to give this diner a shot for breakfast. I believe this is their 4th location, and after today, I'm glad they are close. First off, I love the retro diner feel and vibe of the place. Secondly, love the friendly staff. I thought the service was excellent. My friend went with a traditional breakfast with eggs, bacon and French toast. He said it was exceptional French toast. I went with the breakfast casserole at the recommendation of the server. I guess it sells out quickly and I happen to be here early enough to give it a try. I'm glad I did. It was delicious. The portion was a little small for me, since I was super hungry, but it was very good. Overall I thought it was a good value. I definitely would come here again. read more

I'm glad to see this locally owned business is growing with their 4th location having recently opened in Grandview. It's got a great retro style vibe that's very nice. I crave their PastaSalvi Special from time to time, but dont get it as often as I want. I went with the lunch combo that comes with a small salad. If you've never had PastaSalvi, it's something like a mini lasagna but lighter and creamier. I mean, this dish literally melts in your mouth but also has a crunch from the panko breading that envelopes that goodness. My dining partner, Mark K, tasted it, and he was impressed. He also was very complimentary about his pork tenderloin that was covered in sausage gravy, hash browns, fried eggs, and biscuit. It looked like a hearty breakfast platter. Met Mike G. for lunch here and had a really good meal. I'd been to their east side location, and I think their Westerville one, and enjoyed them. Today we came during the lunch rush and still got seated immediately. Parking can be tricky in the area, but there were spots not far away. Nice diner atmosphere inside. Service was great, though they were busy when we arrived. It thinned out by the time we left, and she had more time to stay and talk. Mike got the Pasta Salvi, and let me try a couple of bites. It was excellent: creamy pasta in a crispy fried (baked?) shell. Rich and filling. I had the pork tenderloin, the "Indy 500." Smaller than ones I've had in Indiana (which can be ridiculously huge,) but still plenty to fill me up. Tender and moist inside, crispy and tasty outside. I've seen complaints that they are cooked too long, but though the outside was medium brown it wasn't overdone, and the meat itself was just right. Served with eggs (done just as I asked) and hash browns (solid, better with hot sauce.) Also a biscuit which I barely got to, being full by then, but which was perfectly cooked and flaky. Saw this place on social media and was surprised it existed in four locations and I had never heard about it. Limited parking in front, staff was pleasant and Lexi was very attentive. The casserole was good but not sure I would get it again. The bacon, pancakes, country fried steak were all really good. It could be the best blueberry muffin serving in the United States! It is freshly-made, super fluffy and soft. They even cut the muffin in half and pan-sear the middle part to make sure it is nice and warm in the middle. I am impressed!! The other foods are excellent too. The staffs are friendly. However, it takes some time to wait for the food and check. Make sure you are not in rush to eat there. read more

What a great breakfast! Our first time in, but will absolutely not be our last!! Cute, clean little spot in Grandview on First Ave. Easy to grab a parking spot when we arrived (around 11:30 on a Sunday/St Patrick's day). Welcomed and sat by the friendly host. I have to note here: literally everyone is really genuinely friendly to everyone. Love that! I ordered the Delaney breakfast (2 eggs, meat, and 2 slices of French toast or pancakes.) I got over easy eggs, sausage, and French toast and whoa nellie I was so happy! Eggs and sausage were perfect, simple, and just what I had hoped for. Then there's the brioche French toast which is insanely good! The two slices are huge! Mr got the Reuben sammy with fries and really liked it. That's his go-to diner order and he loved the corned beef (tasty, generous portion) and the bread was great because it's a bit thicker than average so it didn't just fall apart. Fries are crispy and good. Also worth noting: every table has a locally made hot sauce that's also really nice! All in all, loved it. Great experience all around and absolutely would recommend it and will go back again soon. The prices are reasonable and it's just a touch better than a typical greasy spoon diner. read more

The entrance is a little jakey bc we thot we were at wrong place. But once we went inside it was lots better looking. The wait staff were friendly. The food: pancakes, challah bread french toast, sausage, hash browns - were very good. The pancakes came with meat but i was able to substitute eggs. Tasted almost like my grandmother made. Husband liked food better than Scramblers and Sunshine Cafe. So we definitely will be back esp since its down the street and round the corner. read more

It's only fitting that Marshall's (the restaurant that used to be here) is replaced by a place with that same hometown feel. Delaney's was great! A nice retro 80s diner kind of vibe which I appreciate. We went here for a celebratory breakfast and it was both affordable and reliable. I personally love when a breakfast place offers something unique (because after all eggs and toast get repetitive no matter where you are) and they did just that with the casserole dish I ordered! Was a good heart portion with generous pieces of sausage intertwined into it. Felt like the breakfast version of a personal pan pizza - served in its own little mini casserole dish that was so cute and also just felt like there was some more effort put into it than just a casserole I would make and serve in-bulk at-home! Tried Delaneys on Sunday and had a delicious meal! I ordered the corn beef hash and it was fantastic. I'm taking off one star because the toast is lame. Almost every breakfast place you go to would give you 4 halves - 2 slices. The one slice of bread with my meal just wasn't enough. I know I can buy more, but I think for the portion and price, there needs to be more toast. My boyfriend got 4 slices with his, so I'm not sure what their policy is. The pancakes were FANTASTIC! I'm not normally a pancake girl, but these tasted like a Jenis buttermilk waffle come! So sweet. Quick service. Large restaurant. Moderate prices. read more

Disappointing first visit. Waited 30 min to be seated and the restaurant was half full. People who came in after us were seated before us. We had to finally ask where we were in the line and they seated us. We were very hungry and when the waiter came we wanted to order everything and the waiter only took our drinks order. They were out of Roy Lees Breakfast. We were in the restaurant for over hour before we even got food. Very disappointing experience for a Sunday, when you think they would be prepared for people coming for brunch. The restaurant wasn't even fully packed. The food was fine. Hubby and I had traditional breakfast called Jerry's plate they even offered sourdough bread. I asked for honey for my coffee and that was available too. A quote from Hubby "Nice local dinner!" They had a lunch menu and we didn't try this dish this time, but they had a bologna item on the menu. Dale and I were able to talk without screaming and the whole place. just had a nice feeling. I have been to Delaneys diner quite a bit. The food is always great! Today, I went there for lunch and ordered tomato juice along with my food. When I received the bill, I was shocked to see that a SMALL tomato juice was $5.99! I would have never thought to look at the price for juice on the menu. First off the staff is great, the service was fast and friendly. The diner is spotless, and there's a lot of tables so it does get loud.. The food on the other hand was weird.. It's all precooked and on hot plates, where it's not cooked to order, which is weird. The flavors were good, but if i wanted microwaved food, i could make that at home. I was shocked this place has such a high rating, it must be a local shop, with local reviews.. Because venturing off or out of the neighborhood will bring you a lot of options way better.. I've been eating at Delaney's Diner's Westerville location for years so when a friend wanted to meet in Grandview and asked for a recommendation, Delaney's was my first choice. The Grandview location looks and feels a lot like the Westerville location and the food and service were equally good and consistent with the other site. The wife and I both had the Hooiser Pork Tenderloin sandwich with fries. The sandwich was excellent but the star of my lunch was the fries. The fries were exceptional and were definitely among the top 2 or 3 fries I've ever tasted. Our friend had a salad and potato soup - also excellent. Our server was very good - attentive without being "too attentive". She was very pleasant and professional. I highly recommend Delaney's. Unfortunately whatever grease is used to either cook the burger in or to toast the bun had such a terrible bitter aftertaste that I couldn't taste anything on this burger. They're definitely busy on weekends, so plan ahead, but takeout service was super friendly and the food is quite good. I always get a basic breakfast platter as a first diner meal for some reason, but it's a good way to compare spots, and this one did not disappoint. Two other employees, both female and one of them appeared to be a manager, were rude and unpleasant and seemingly did not want to be there. And when simple questions were asked, they responded unpleasantly and then went into the kitchen and started talking about me. Our trip to Delaney's Diner was a bad first experience. My husband's tenderloin came to the table burned up. He wasn't going to complain so I asked the waitress about it and she took it to the kitchen and came back with another lady that said it was dark because of the breading, and it was cooked three minutes like all else are always cooked three minutes and that it was not burned. We had been on the road for several hours, and had not had a thing to eat or drink before, so my husband ate it, commenting to me how horrible it was, and that it truly tasted burned. He stated it was so well done that it was hard to even chew. He did not find it believable that their batter was simply darker than most. Because two employees told us that's how they look and how they're breading looks we didn't make a fuss nor make them another menu item (they offered this after saying that's how they come out of the fryer, but they did not offer to make him another tenderloin, which was his whole reason for going there). Low and behold the neighboring table ordered one and it came out cooked beautifully like it should have been. It should not have been black and dark brown as his was, it should have been a golden brown like hers. It was a very disappointing dining experience. We would not recommend Delaney's Diner to anyone based on today's experience. read more

We visited Delaneys diner on a Saturday mid morning for brunch. We love diners! We had a mediocre experience. They were potentially understaffed, also potentially just slow service. We did not receive any coffee/water refills during our meal We had the delaney's breakfast with French toast and garden omelette. Not sure how long this place has been around, but it looked new and clean. Went for lunch and tried the Reuben and PastaSalvi. Both were really good. Loved the corned beef. Bottom toast got a tad soggy from sitting on the plate, but other than that, I really enjoyed this diner. read more
