    Watermelon wake up

This restaurant appears to be relatively newly built; we no longer live in Ft. Wayne, so I don't know exactly how long they've been open: Food: The food was outstanding. Breakfast food doesn't typically merit strong opinions one way or another, but everyone in our party of 5 remarked at how good it was. Ambiance: Lots of natural sunlight, although the noise factor was a little high. Service: Well, there were a few issues. They were at-capacity, and one person in our group never got his pancake until we asked multiple times. By the time they finally brought it to the table, everyone else had finished eating, I had already paid the bill, and I had my car keys in my hand. They'll eventually work out the kinks I'm sure.

This was our first trip here. I have been itching to go here for breakfast, but usually hard to hit up with a five day work week. We were surprised coming in. It wasn't as difficult to get a table for brunch. After being seated, they quickly took our order and sent it to the kitchen. I would say preparation time may be longer than the typical breakfast joints around here. I had the Floridian French toast, which looked exactly like the menu picture, which is great. It was spot on for taste and just the right amount of sweetness. My wife got the seasonal maple bacon and egg croissant sandwich, which was a bit on the sweeter side. The potatoes unfortunately were over salted and almost difficult to eat. Overall, I'll have to give it another try to make up my mind whether I truly like it over the other breakfast options in Southwest Fort Wayne.

It just opened and had a long wait time. It's a large space, has outdoor seating and also some alcoholic drinks on the menu. Once the newness settles down I hope it will be a fun delicious spot

Third visit to First Watch today. Got seated immediately, a pleasant surprise! Our server, Jacquelin, could not have better! Husband had the summer menu special, the Elote Burrito (partially eaten and pictured below). It's a grilled tortilla filled with chorizo, scrambled eggs, freshly seasoned potatoes, diced red bell pepper, 2cheeses, black beans and avocado, topped with Vera Cruz hollandaise, roasted corn salsa, Cotija cheese, house-pickled red onions, chipotle aioli, Tajin® and cilantro. HUGE! He said, although filling, he'd definitely order it again! I chose a cup of Italian Wedding soup (not pictured), which was good, but their tomato bisque is even better. Also the "healthy menu" item: Avocado Toast on a slice of their whole grain, wonderful artisan toast (had them top it with tomato), which was accompanied by 2 perfectly basted eggs. It was delicious but I think chef was a bit heavy handed, per my taste, with the Maldon sea salt over all. We love that their wonderful coffee comes to the table in its own pot, and water ice cold in a carafe. All in all, another very satisfying experience!

We had a great experience! The service was great and the food was super fresh. Grateful for the coffee on the table. The million dollar bacon was awesome to start with. My husband got the chicken chonga with million dollar potatoes and fruit. I got the maple chipotle chicken hash from the season menu with cheesy grits! It was all wonderful! If you are concerned about the wait time, it's a huge benefit to use the in line list on the website while you are driving in!

I was visiting a friend and he suggested this because he had never been. We were seated right away but then sat for over 10 minutes before being acknowledged. We finally stopped a server and asked if we had a server for our table. They said they were alert our server. Another server stopped by to say she wasn't ur server about to take drink orders. Then finally our server comes up, with no apology and asked if we were ready to order. Of course we were, we had been sitting for close to 20mins now. The orange juice is not fresh squeezed so I went with an iced tea. I ordered the eggs Benedict plain with no meat and the potatoes. My friend got the farmhouse hash. We both enjoyed our food. The absentness of the server and lack of empathy for waiting around is enough for us to say we won't go back and to not recommend it.

Hubby and I have breakfast for lunch, always a great choice. We had Fritatta Rustica, Multigrain Pecan carrot cake pancakes (2), and a Mint Mocha Iced coffee. The iced coffee was on the seasonal menu, a great tasting choice! Needless to say we had leftovers to enjoy again! The pancake tasted just like a carrot cake, and covered the whole large plate.

Really liked the place--clean, minimalistic vibe with a calm, no-fuss atmosphere. The food was solid with a nice mix of options on the menu. Portion sizes are very European (you'll get it once you see the plate), but the flavors make up for it. Despite being pretty busy, the service was surprisingly attentive and friendly. Overall, a great little spot that knows what it's doing.

The food was delicious! You must try the blueberry lemon cornbread - it was amazing! The iced coffee hit the spot. We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast

We enjoyed First Watch for brunch in Fort Wayne. The atmosphere is hopping and upbeat. The only complaint from our group was there are not a ton of different options on the menu but the portion sizes are good for prices. I love their juice options! Expect a long wait on the weekend and check in ahead of time, on your way to the restaurant.

I guess I'll skip to the end when I got my check, and was completely shocked to learn that I had a fantastic meal and an excellently made spritz, plus dessert, for a shockingly low price. I even double-checked the check, to make sure they didn't accidentally leave something off. No! How could it be? It turns out that I was visiting Rune during happy hour, which is Tuesday through Saturday from 5 to 6 p.m. This could be why my bill was so agreeable. So, if you're looking for a great meal for a great price, visit during happy hour. So, the spritz. Literally every table ordered the spritz while I was there, including me. It was a great choice, and it looked especially pretty and ombre in a glass with ice. Like any good spritz, it had just enough alcohol to make things sparkle a little, but was also refreshing and hydrating. I made a note in my phone to remember that the bartender used words like "vegetal" and "herbaceous" when talking about some of the cocktails to the people sitting at the bar. I love a good vegetal, herbaceous drink, and it made me want to order another cocktail. Instead, I ordered the green spaghetti from the happy hour menu, which is a paired down menu, but has a lot of the items from the regular menu. The spaghetti was bright green from a pesto made from ramps, nori butter and parmesan, and there were also bits of clams throughout. It was rich and buttery! Ramps are one of those things that I have to get when I see them on a menu during the spring. They're only around for a short time, so they're precious. For dessert, I went with the pot de creme, which was flavored with pho spices (cinnamon, anise, coriander, cardamom, fennel, etc.) and had peanuts and chocolate on the bottom. Holy fudgy bottom! This was the smoothest, most balanced dessert I've eaten in a long time. Smooth, but with the occasional peanut here and there to make things interesting. The service was excellent. I was dining by myself, so I got seated at a cozy little table, lit with a candle, that was off to the side but also in the center of everything, so I could people watch, which is one of my favorite things to do. I wanted for nothing the entire time, but was also left the eff alone. It was perfect. It was one of the best dining experiences I've had that I can remember.
