This has turned into our Saturday brunch place! We love it food is great service is great! Is a cute little place to sit and enjoy!

Food is delicious, but the service is so horrible I would never go back. The entire experience was awful. First thing we walk to the door and someone is wiping down the glass. She makes us wait until she's finished even though she can see us standing in the reflection. It's very loud. A cafeteria ambiance. The hostess comes up after we have to ask the door lady if we seat ourselves. No. The hostess comes up to seat us but says she needs to get silverware and walks off. When offered the table I ask if we can sit in the booths. She refuses "we don't have a server." Even though all of the sections are half empty and the server next to it could have taken us. He said no. We take another table, once again she tells us she has to go get us silverware. Another server brings silverware and doesn't even say anything. She brings the silverware. "Oh. You already have silverware." Three times I have to hear about silverware for no reason. My friends food was cold when it arrived, but doesn't complain. When we go to check out, something is wrong with their register and even though I see it's come out of my account they hold me there until they can figure out if I actually paid them. I told them I was not paying again and asked if I could leave. No. We need to figure this out. Would never go back. read more

We had breakfast at First Watch in Hickory while visiting with family. Despite being busy, we were seated within 5-10 minutes of arrival at 10 am on a Sunday. This was a lot faster than we had anticipated, which was a great start. The service was excellent. Our server made some very good recommendations and regularly checked with us to ensure we had everything we needed. The food itself was delicious. All 4 of us ordered something different from the menu and each person commented how good the food was. First Watch had a nice vibe to it, as we were able to not only enjoy our meal, but it was not too loud, so we were able to converse with each other. I had the Chile Chorizo omelet with breakfast potatoes and a coffee. My wife had Classic Eggs Benedict and my son ordered the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, his fiancé ordered the steel-cut oatmeal. Our server kept our coffee topped off. Overall we completely enjoyed breakfast and our experience with First Watch in Hickory. Highly recommend this location. read more

My best friends and I meet every other Tuesday and have a mom outing. Today, we chose to eat brunch at First Watch. The food was fantastic and we all loved it! Our little ones enjoyed French toast, chocolate chip pancakes, fruit, and sausage. We ate a farmhouse hash and sandwiches that were delicious! We definitely sampled the kids' food, too! So good! Also, the service was great! Our waitress, Italy, never let us run out of anything and kept a check on us. Then, as I was heading to clean out my daughter's cup to replace the milk with juice, another member of the wait staff offered to clean it for me! The prices were completely reasonable and I was not charged extra for the juice even though I didn't order it with my daughter's meal! This was the perfect spot for our mom group meet-up and we will be back! read more

Went to the new First Watch location in Hickory and it was excellent. The service was stellar McKenzie was our server and she did an awesome job with menu suggestions and keeping our drinks refilled. I had the works Omelet and the potatoes and it was delicious. My husband had the eggs with sausage and biscuits and gravy he said was delish. The restaurant is spotless with soothing colors and decor. Wish I had taken pictures. I highly recommend First Watch Hickory. read more

Good food, unorganized. I put us on the waitlist prior to getting there, checked in and and waited another 25 minutes. Got a text saying we were going to be seated to head to the host stand but stood there for another ten minutes because there was confusion. The host went to take us to the table and it was still dirty. Stood there for another almost ten minutes while they seated two other families. Finally getting seated it was barely big enough for our party of five but the manager came over and apologized which was nice. She was very charming and they sent us two servings of the million dollar bacon which were delicious. Food took a bit to get out but that makes sense because there was no parking (we had to park at Home Depot). The caramel crunch iced coffee was delicious but not for diabetics if you know what I mean. My French toast was good just disappointed I got one piece of kiwi when the menu boasted of kiwis and bananas. Regardless not bad just will wait to go back for a few months so they can work out the kinks. read more

I ordered the biscuits and gravy. The biscuit was very good, the gravy was made with Italian sausage, and was just okay. My eggs were cooked very well, but the home fries were burnt. It's a nice place to eat and the service is good. The price is a little high and the menu has limited traditional choice. They do have gluten free toast. My wife enjoyed the multi grain toast. read more

I have been here twice before and went today and had the eggs benefit. It was luke warm and the eggs were done hard and it was quite a disappoitment. Maybe they got a new cook. I asked to have my eggs made again and it was a mess. Hope this doesn't happen again. read more

Appalled to read that (particularly) during the Holdiay season this store is allowing staff to work with the FLU. Because of people like this who don't stay home (or aren't allowed to) when they are sick, my son spent Christmas at home while all his cousins and grandparents got to celebrate together. So disappointed to hear this business is being ran this way. Certainly won't be back to this location! read more

The service he didn't have time for me he spilled my ice coffee I had to ask him for some thing to clean the spilled coffee we had the same order but didn't get the same order we had to ask someone for the cream and sugar and a straw he didn't come to see if we want anything else never again read more

Before I say anything, I have been to First Watch before and last time it was really good the food, the servic, and everything else. But, this time when I went the service was terrible. My mother got my drink spilled on her and they took forever to take our orders and brign our food out. The food was also terrible, my bacon was cold and hard and just overall not good. And even my other family members said that their food wasn't very good. I wouldn't say to not ever go to first watch because I know that it can be good. My daughter and I visited First Watch in Hickory on Tuesday, September 5 around 10:00 AM. I ordered the traditional breakfast with 2 eggs, scrambled, cheesy grits, toast, and chicken sausage patties. My daughter ordered the salmon Benedict. We ordered a cinnamon churro to share. She had coffee, I had hot tea. The bill was just shy of $44.00. For BREAKFAST! After waiting over 15 minutes to be noticed we ordered. The food came out really fast, a surprise after waiting so long to be noticed. The churros arrived first, hot, full of oil, soggy, and tasteless. The oil was not hot enough to produce a crispy, sinful treat. As for cinnamon, well, I didn't taste any. The first bite was not crunchy, but bendy and oily. We ate our first bite without spitting it out, and tried a second bite which was just as disappointing as the first. My scrambled eggs were tasty, the toast was full of luscious seeds and textures, the chicken sausage patties way better than I expected , but the cheesy grits... well, they had absolutely NO TASTE AT ALL. I relayed that info to our server and they offered potatoes or fruit as a substitute, but I wasn't hungry enough to waste food so I declined. My daughter enjoyed her salmon Benedict and the side salad. While most of the food was acceptable, I won't be back. I'm a good cook. Hickory, NC: for a party of 6 (4 adults 2 children) the bill was $90 for breakfast (no frills or extras, my 3 eggs scrambled with cheese and a side of grits cost $19.47), plates arrived 5 minutes apart and all were cold, the servers were extremely rude (one plate was incorrect and the replacement (which we said was not necessary) was all but tossed in front of us with a scowl from the server), the menu sounds fantastic but the food leaves much to be desired. I have never posted a bad review in my life but left this restaurant with such a bad taste in my mouth, both literally and figuratively. Horrible restaurant. read more
