Well this used to be an Egg and I. We stopped in a couple of months ago. It was horrible so when we saw that it was now First Watch we thought we'd give another try. Mostly the same staff, still lousy service and only mediocre food. I ordered the traditional AMERICAN breakfast. It was cold. I complained about the potatoes and asked for grits instead. They were yellow and not the traditional white, but at least they were hot. Still an average of $10 for an entree and $3 for coffee. I can't believe they have a crowd. Basically it is the same ole place with a different name. Drive on by Denny's is just down the road at least you'll get more food there. Oh and they advertised a pumpkin pancake special on the website but you can't get it here. They say they missed out on the seasonal specials. read more

not the best experience today. i placed my order for curbside and called the store and no response. i ended up having to go inside to get my order and once i got inside the hostess looks at me and walks away to attend other customers. she didn't even tell me she'd be back or that she'd be with me in a moment. finally once she comes back she attends another gentleman before me when i know she saw me first. very disappointed and ruined my morning. read more

It's okay. Service wasn't the best and food was okay. Compared to Dish society, black walnuts union kitchen, this place doesn't come close. There's much room for improvement because the potential is definitely there. For now I'm sticking with Waffle House and Denny's on this side of town. read more

This place is filthy dirty and has terrible service. When we first sat down and received our water glasses they were dirty and so we requested another and we were given attitude with the request. On top of terrible service the bathroom smelled like it hadn't been cleaned in days. When we received our food it was marginal at best and I had spoiled fruit. Not a great experience at this place. First Watch is a great breakfast, lunch, and brunch place to relax, enjoy breakfast, and sip on some coffee. My favorites being the market hash and avocado toast. Not to mention you can buy their coffee and bread by the loaf. The staff is outstanding with great customer service. Ask for Danette, she's top notch!!!! read more

Here to update my review. I actually did give First Watch a second chance at the same location and I was pleasantly surprised. I have now returned multiple times, about once a week, and each visit has been great. I hope they never remove the millionaire bacon from the menu, it is unbelievably good! They also have the best Belgian waffles! read more

Got my quinoa power bowl to go today, and it was SALTY. There was barely any vegetables in there and it looked it someone threw it all in a box. Thanks for working during this pandemic though! I just didn't expect the power bowl to be this bad. read more

My husband, son and I often have breakfast on Sundays at the First Watch on Westheimer. This particular Sunday was after the "coronavirus" scare which simple things like water, tea, coffee, ice were not being served. However, our server Danette, made our experience so wonderful. She was kind, courteous, offered options and was very apologetic. She tried to accommodate us in any way possible and truly made our dining experience pleasant. Had a delicious lunch here on a weekday with colleagues. Ordered the Carrot Crush fresh juice drink. So refreshing and just a little sweet. Got a refill to take back to my meeting, it was so good. Feasted on the Pumpkin pancake with eggs and chicken sausage. Service was delightful and speedy enough to get us back to our meeting on time. I shall return. I went to this location for the first time, having previously visited the Katy and Stafford locations, and I was impressed. The decor at this location is a really cute farmhouse theme. But the service was excellent! The moment I walked in I was greeted with a warm welcome by Danette who became my server. Danette is such a nice lady and wonderful server. I am absolutely requesting to be served by her the next time I come because she's so great and friendly and attentive! Additionally my food came much quicker at this location that what I've experienced at other locations I've attended. This location has WiFi and outlets at a few of the tables so I was able to get some work done after my breakfast. This is definitely my new go-to First Watch location! read more

Took mom and hubby out for breakfast at this new Houston restaurant. I'd eaten at a First Watch in Omaha and was glad to see one arrive here. Mom had the pumpkin pancakes and maple bacon which she was crazy about! Hubby had the eggs and toast which were cooked to perfection. He's a fussy eater but gobbled up the whole plate with gusto. I couldn't decide what I wanted as there were so many delicious sounding options. I finally settled on the breakfast chia pudding which was to die for! We all had coffee and I had a fresh juice with cayenne. Great service and charming interior. Glad to have First Watch in Houston! read more

This is in my top 3 breakfast spots as well. Their seasonal menu is my favorite because I like to try the new things every time I go. The million dollar bacon is my favorite hands down. It's something that you can easily become addicted to. I first ate here at the college station location during hurricane Harvey and I am glad they are building more in the Houston area. This place is old fashioned breakfast with a twist. That is the best way I can explain it. They have something for everyone. This is my first time at this restaurant after hearing some buzz about it. I pulled in with the hope of getting takeout and the parking lot is way too packed. People are sitting outside waiting to come in. Might be a covid thing, though. Not really sure. But that quickly changed my decision so I decided to call and do curbside. I asked if they were doing curbside since again I've never been here before and the guy said "yeah I guess were doing that" I'm like umm okay.... then he gets another woman on the phone who was like "I was told you wanted to place an order" I responded yes and then it was a dead silence. Then she said "hello" I said yes again and it was then that she asked me what I wanted.... I'm like okay this is really giving "pull up to Popeyes: GO HEAD" vibes. I told her I've never been here before and she didn't even bother to give me any suggestions or anything. I ordered basic pancake combo and she told me 10-15 minutes without bothering to give me the total. I have now reached the 20 minute mark and I call back looking for my food and whoever answered said "mam they are coming" without any car details or order details. There are a ton of brunch spots in Houston that I've been vying to try but one of my best friends recommended we try First Watch as it had only been recently open for about a month or so. We went on a Saturday around noon so naturally they were packed. After mulling over their giant selection of a menu, we settled on drinks, but surprisingly didn't have a waiter until about ten minutes later. Again, they were busy, so understandable. Our waitress arrives and takes our drink orders; I ask for the morning meditation because I see a table next to me has a pretty ombre drink and they told me what it was. My friend proceeds to get the other pomegranate drink. She later comes back and hands me a green drink and I politely inquire what I had just been served. She says "it's the kale tonic that you ordered." I tell her I ordered the morning meditation and insist that she even wrote it down on the ticket. She looks at it again, apologizes and gives me the kale tonic while going off to fix me my actual drink. Comes back later with a completely orange morning meditation without the red ombre top like I have seen on other tables. I accept the drink and say no more on the matter. My friend orders the quinoa dish WITHOUT the meat, and I get the BLT benedict. She writes both of these down on the ticket and it takes roughly 40 minutes before our food arrives and of course my friend's dish still contains sausage in it. At this point, the waitress looks in disarray and takes back the dish to be remade and has someone else deliver it to our table. We eat our meals in contempt, pay, and be on our way. While the food isn't necessarily bad, the staff here still have a long way to go. There is clearly miscommunication between the servers and the kitchen. I'm not entirely sure that the wait staff is familiar with menu either, but I think that this place has potential and can be great over time. I'll give this place a year or so to work out all the kinks before returning. For now, you might be experiencing huge hits or misses with this place. read more

My Saturday ritual! Car wash, and next door is the most unique and healthy place to brunch or lunch. Service is just as great as the food!

Ugh. I was so excited when this opened a few months ago. The first few visits were great but the last few were not. At our last visit, my husband ordered the black eyed pea soup which the server called "redneck tortilla soup." It was a bowl of broth with grease floating on top. There was maybe 3 small bites of chicken with 10 peas. It was lukewarm at best and overall gross. My husband ordered the soup in addition to his meal and the server didn't think to bring it first until I asked her to, 10 minutes into waiting for our food. My husband ordered a biscuit and gravy instead of the piece of toast that comes with his meal. We completely expected that there would be an up charge for this change. The meal came out with toast so he again requested a biscuit with a SIDE of gravy. The server brought out a biscuit swimming in a bowl of cold gravy. They charged us $4.50 for one biscuit and gravy. That was a ridiculous up charge when biscuits are so cheap. I had the chicken with quinoa, which was very good. Hopefully you get the inconsistencies worked out because as of right now, my husband is not planning on coming back. read more

I asked for the toast well cooked (meaning toasted) and potatoes crispy. By the time the food was brought out the 2nd time, the potatoes were exactly the same and the toast was cold bread. So, they wanted to run the toast through a second time and make the potatoes crispy. By the the time I got the toast, I was done with my omelet and million bacon (the million bacon was just ok). The potatoes never came so, I cancelled them. My husband got the Works Omelet and it was just ok. Not very happy with today's visit. They gave me a small discount but, I would prefer they have a manager who watch when the food comes out of the kitchen and when it is served. read more

Oh First Watch how use to love thee. Let me start by saying I have been going to First Watch all my life, I know it's relatively new to the Houston area. I love the pancakes and the chickechanga. I have been ordering that for years and it's been delicious for years. I was so excited when I realized they were opening up a First Watch across the street from me, I called and told all my friends and was so happy. It's terrible whn you build yourself up to be let down. I called in an order for my favorite to go the chickechanga, and I also ordered the carrot cake pancakes. Food tasted delicious but to my surprise I turned my chickechanga over and it was a bug melted into my food. I'm convinced that whoever prepared knew it was a bug in my food and was to lazy to make me another one. I'm convinced because it was flipped over cheese side down, and it normally comes cheese side up. This is my second unpleasant experience, the first one was a the Katy Tx location. Needles to say I AM DONE WITH HOUSTONS FIRST WATCH restaurants. I will only go whn I'm back home in Kansas City where the service is a1 and the food is bug free. read more
