Great place to go for breakfast or brunch. The staff that works there is always so friendly and very accommodating to what we would like.

The food here was so good and the atmosphere was very cozy. The wood look on the walls and the country feel of the interior gave a good vibe. Our server was spot on with everything and checked on us throughout the meal. Price wise it is very reasonable for the size of the meal and with fast food chains going close to 10-12 for a cheap meal you add a few more dollars and have a great meal here. We met family visiting in town at First Watch on Broadway this past weekend. We arrived at 8:30 and there was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating available. First watch also has high chairs and stands for infant carriers - both of which we used! The menu featured your standard breakfast/brunch options & also offered the nutritional information which is helpful in making dining choices! I had the avocado toast with 2 eggs - it was great and a good portion size with plenty of avocado. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their breakfast as well- our 2 year old particularly enjoyed his HUGE biscuit and cheesy eggs! read more

We decided to go here for breakfast (I've been wanting to go for the longest time). When we first walked in I thought we're going to have to wait to be seated but no we were seated right away. The hostess was very friendly and so was the server . I ordered the pumpkin spice pancake platter and when it arrived I thought to myself I can't eat the whole thing but I did ! The server came with a warm bottle of real maple syrup as well . It was sooo good ! My friend had two eggs over easy , breakfast sausage and potatoes (she said the potatoes were really good ). For as busy as it was the dining room didn't seem to be loud at all.(I think everyone was enjoying their brr as much as we were ). Came here for a quick brunch with my husband and daughter. Very family friendly environment. Had indoor or outdoor patio seating. Tons of different craft drink options both alcoholic and nonalcoholic. My husband went with an iced Mint Mojito type coffee and I got iced coffee. His mint coffee was very delicious with lots of flavor, not overly minty, you can still taste your coffee. My iced coffee, I had to verify it didn't have alcohol in it, because it tasted like it had some. I'm thinking they use a coffee concentrate because when I added more water to my iced coffee that weird alcohol flavor went away. My husband and I both got French toast with the berry jam on the side (definitely use it, it's delicious). And my daughter destroyed her blueberry pancake which ended up being ginormous. We got to first watch around 12:30 and immediately ordered drinks and food upon being seated. It took 20 minutes to get water and I never received my iced coffee I ordered. After an hour of watching tables who had arrived 20 minutes ago get their food and drinks, we finally got one of the dishes. The biscuits, gravy, and potatoes were cold. The other dish had been made incorrectly and was on the way. My waitress said "oh they didn't bring yours out? But you waited forever!" This just seemed unprofessional that they were aware we were waiting forever and weren't doing much about it. My food finally arrived after being here for an hour. I've been to at least 3 locations. It's very expensive for what you get. The service is mediocre at best. Nice names of dishes, but they don't live up to what you would expect. The older lady with glasses working the hostess stand on 4/13/24 around noon was incredibly disrespectful and rude to me upon checking in for our table. She had awful manners and was very patronizing to us customers. Makes me not want to come back to the First Watch S. Broadway location. She completely ruined my breakfast with her negative and her condescending words. Went there this week for a business meeting at around 11:30am. My colleague ordered French toast with a generous sprinkling of sugar. What came was a very boring looking platter with extra sugar dumped on it. The French toast looked very dry and not appetizing at all. I, on the other hand, ordered their pancake with lemon curd. It was very good! Right balance of sweet n sour in the curd. Now for the negatives... even though not that full, the service was slowwww. The place could've been cleaner... looked very strange to be that littered at 11:30am on a Tuesday morning. The young girl serving us never brought fresh coffee. We were there for almost 1.5 hrs and she never bothered to refresh the coffee until I asked her to do so as the old coffee in the carafe was cold as ice! Also, I observed 2 servers freshening up the tables and the way they were handling clean glasses (touching them on the top) grossed me out. First watch has always been my go to breakfast place when I'm on the road. I love the healthy options rather than just pancakes and greasy eggs and bacon. I always say I'm going to try something new, but I always end up having their fresh juices and the Chia bowl. At this location, the server was very friendly and got my order out quickly. The food was well prepared, however I would've preferred a little more almond butter on my toast. It was kind of thin. Otherwise I was very pleased with everything about my visit. I would like to give a special shout out to the staff, as they seemed to be understaffed, but no one was unpleasant or difficult. This place is amazing! Came in really close to closing but they were super chill with it. We were in and out in 10 minutes. Obviously since it wasn't busy everything came really fast. I got the kale tonic and it was AMAZING. Tasted great and had a real nice apple taste going on. I also had a bowl of fruit which I was pleasantly surprised with. It wasn't like the standard bowl of fruit with cantaloupe and honeydew (I hate both of those fruits). You could tell everything was fresh just by the look and taste. This is my favorite place to go to when I need to the refresh button on my healthy eats. Everything is always so fresh and their new fall menu looked amazing(sorry in my hast I forgot to get snaps of the menu). The customer service is always on point and the food is too. I liked the cozy feel of this particular one. Most First Watch establishments feel like an IHOP sometimes, but the decor in this one was very refreshing and warm feeling. Side-note: they even had a nice clean bathroom with soft toilet paper on a roll that you would find at home instead of that hard toilet paper in the grey container. I would definitely frequent this establishment whenever I'm in Lexington again. read more

Lexington has no shortage of above average breakfast/brunch places (Josie's, Doodles, Stella's, Wild Eggs, and DV8 come to mind), so it doesn't exactly stand out on the merit of taste alone. It's also a chain, so you won't be supporting local business by dining here. What this place has going for it is that it offers a variety of healthier breakfast options, which is where many of its competitors fall short. It also lists the calorie count next to each of its menu items (a practice which can inarguably be helpful for people trying to watch what they eat, despite any personal feelings you or I may have about it). I've been here a handful of times and can't tell you what I've ordered in the past, so nothing particularly memorable - but I've never left unsatisfied. This time I wanted a light bite so I went for the butternut squash bisque off the seasonal menu, with a side of potatoes. My friend got the pumpkin pancake breakfast, another seasonal item. The soup was perfect, especially if you're a fan of fall flavors. I also tried a bite of my friend's pancake and loved it. First Watch isn't my first choice, but it's still a solid contender for breakfast. read more

We came here on Easter Sunday and I was impressed how quickly we were able to be seated considering the holiday. We joined the waitlist on Yelp and checked in at the restaurant. It seemed pretty hectic as staff were running around and our food took a bit but everything was good and hot. The gravy for the biscuits is not your traditional white gravy and had a more peppery taste to it. The potatoes were well spiced and chunky. The bacon was delicious and crispy. Really nice vibe. Great employees. The food is "meh". I've been twice this week and each time ordered one of the Mexican-themed dishes with chorizo. The first time there was so little chorizo in the seasonal menu item (hashed potatoes, two fried eggs, chorzio, etc.) that I assumed they were running out of chorizo late in the day and gave me all that was left. Which was about the amount of pepper you'd sprinkle on something. I got the chorizo omelette the next time and it was the same pathetic portion of meat. How little was it? If I fed my 8-pound cat that much chorizo he'd be bawling at me for a week about my stinginess. It's so little that you feel bad they killed a pig to put it in your omelette because there's no pleasure or protein to be taken in exchange. That's what I think while sitting there: they killed a pig for this? I'm a light eater and am more inclined to be disgusted by the amount of meat in an omelette than disappointed, but these items are just absurd. One can only guess, this being a national chain, that they did some "math" and figured they could buy another yacht if they cut down on the amount of chorizo in a dish. And then having bought that yacht, figured, hey let's do it again... and again... and again.. and they will keep listing chorizo as an ingredient in these dishes until somebody complains about it. I didn't have the mind-blowing experience at this location as I did at a previous one, but it could have been because my meal was rushed (we needed to make an appointment) and I had the child with me, who was more interested in throwing his food on the floor. My friend and I were seated right away in a friendly and clean restaurant. There were a few other people eating morning meals, but the place wasn't packed. It was comfortable. Our waitress took our orders (which took a few minutes because there were so many yummy options on the menu!), answering any questions we had, and brought back our food quickly! Thank goodness, because my child was ready to scream for food. I had a veggie omelet with goat cheese, plus a side bowl of fruit -- which I shared with the child. I wasn't a fan of the goat cheese in my omelette, but that's a personal thing. I'm sure I could ask for a substitution. My friend really enjoyed her breakfast tacos, which did look amazing. We ate fast and then headed out the door -- all this in less than an hour. The best part? A relatively low bill for such delicious food. Yay! read more
