The omelet was decent (could've had more seasoning) but the wrap was super wet and soggy. Overall I had a pretty good experience at this location, waitress was friendly, service was very quick and still tasty. Went around 8:30 on Tuesday so the place wasn't super busy. However it took awhile to get the servers attention for the check, and when asking for a box she said yes, then never returned, waited around 10 minutes and couldn't find her so ultimately we just paid the bill and left with out my leftovers (kinda a bummer) but overall decent service and clean and well ran location. read more

First time at a First Watch today, overall we enjoyed the experience. This location is on the main drag of bustling Rocky River (Beachcliff Market Sq Plaza) and it was somewhat difficult to find a parking spot. There is a free garage if you're able to walk a little further. We reserved a table for 8 and it was ready promptly. They didn't seem to have a long wait, but the place was hopping on a Saturday morning. They have 3 tables outside and I noticed a large amount of carryout orders too. The servers/hostess/runners were all very nice and accommodating. Our glasses were always filled and there was plenty of hot tea/sweetener/creamer choices available on the table. 7 of us ordered breakfast, one had a salad. Everything looked pleasing and tasted delicious. The menu isn't large but they do have an additional seasonal selection. There is also fresh juices and early day cocktails, think Bloody Mary and Mimosas. It is a chain tho it doesn't seem like one, I think that's a good thing. It's something different menu wise, maybe a little bit more upscale than what I'm used to. Several steps up from a Ma & Pa breakfast/lunch joint! The hipper vibe and price point reflects that. My teen/20yr old girls would love this place! Though half of my table was 65+ and they truly liked it too. This place is good of you actually go there and sit down. But DO NOt try and order their food through a delivery service, as they are abysmal at fulfilling their orders. This isn't the first time, but it will he the last time they do this to me. I just placed an order for breakfast and it was here quickly, was still warm and was not only organized in its packaging but all the packaging is either recyclable or compostable! That made me happy. I'd honestly never heard of this place before but it popped up on Uber eats so I figured I'd give it a try. I ordered the traditional breakfast (eggs can be made however you like and you get to pick your meat option - I had scramble and turkey sausage links, a multigrain pancake (with chocolate chips) and a glass of milk. It was all packed great and came with sides of butter, jelly, ketchup and syrup. The portions are so big I saved half of everything for tomorrow! My brother's family and my hubby and I came for brunch before my dad's funeral. There were 7 of us total and we were there at prime time on a Saturday morning. It definitely was fairly priced. My hubby got the Italian omelet. He said it was pretty good. He likes a lot of stuff in his omelet so he would have preferred more fixings in the eggs. I caught up with a former co-worker here on August 12th for breakfast/brunch. I ordered pancakes with scrambled eggs and sausages. I ate 2 big pancakes and I was very full at the end. It was delicious. My friend ordered an omelette with small salad (spinach or Kale) and she enjoyed her meal too. This is a typical breakfast spot that is a chain restaurant as well since there are many First Watch locations across the country. So my rating is 4 stars because 5 stars to me means "spectacular" and although I enjoyed my meal, the pancakes/eggs/sausage that I ate was just normal. I've only been to this particular location once but I've eaten at First Watch before in Columbus. The menu may be overwhelming to you because there are alot of meal options on the menu but that didn't bother me. If you are the type of person who needs more time choosing what to eat then the menu may be a bit much. Nonetheless, the server I had was helpful in explaining the different breakfast options so just ask a server if you have questions on the menu. My husband & I really enjoy going out to breakfast. Last Sunday, we picked 'First Watch' on Detroit in Rocky River, Ohio, as our destination. We felt so lucky and were actually surprised that there was no line of people waiting to be seated. So, we figured that it was our lucky day! We got seated right away as we walked in. As I pulled out my chair, there were a bunch of crumbs all over my seat so I brushed them off and cozied up to share our delicious Sunday treat. As I looked around, I noticed so many other empty tables. I even asked the manager about it, he told us that usually there was a long line, he didn't know why that wasn't the case. When it came time to order, the server took our preferences, pleasantly, and off she went. She returned with coffee pot and my hot water with lemon and went off to attend to her job. It was relaxing to have the time to just chat with each other over our beverages, enjoying the surroundings and noticing the decorative theme of the restaurant. Decades ago, when I first joined the work force, one of my jobs was as a server at The Roman Gardens in Little Italy. Trained by some of the best, so I have a high respect and appreciation for all of the great work that they do. As we looked around and chatted, we noticed something else. In our area of the restaurant, instead of the bussing staff cleaning off the tables after each group of guests finished and left, some of the servers were cleaning off the dishes from their tables. It sounds like the smart thing to do, right? It's a busy time of day and the faster you get that table cleaned and reset, the faster the host will seat another group at your table. We talked about how great it was that everyone pitched in to keep everything running smoothly for everyone. Unfortunately, to us, one vital piece of the winning puzzle was missing. Remember when I explained that the servers were clearing the dirty dishes as customers left? That's the good news. Here's what we DIDN'T see happening: We never saw anyone go over to that table to actually wash the table after the server cleared the dishes! Instead, each time a table was cleared, a different employee came by and placed clean coffee cups on the table. But the table was never washed or cleaned off with spray cleaner, etc. before the next group of customers sat down and ate. When our server came over, I explained what I was seeing. She told me that the coffee cups being placed on the table was like a cue that the table had been washed already. I, again, explained that the washing wasn't happening. Table after table, it happened again & again. On our way out, we stopped to quietly explain what we saw to the manager. After I explained what we had been watching, this is what he said, "Are you suurrrrrrre? with the word "sure" long & drawn out. He actually turned his head a bit to one side and tossed me a look like I was a toddler and had just fibbed about something to him! My mistake was that my expectation was that I'd be speaking with a mature person, actually interested in managing a great restaurant experience for everyone. He went on to explain that he didn't see that. I took a quick minute to regroup my expectations and my goal and explained, speaking quietly so as not to make a scene, while clearly explaining again what we saw, again & again and, in more detail, why that concerned us as far as sanitary policies & procedures, etc. In fact, I continued to explain to him that his response particularly concerned us and made us now wonder what goes on in the restaurant where the customers can't see; for instance, in the kitchen with food safety, storage, meal prep, etc. Originally, we figured that mistakes happen, especially during busy times. We thought that we'd mention what we saw so that they could remedy the problem. Unfortunately, it became obvious that, even if there was a mistake, once they found out from us what was happening, there was no effort seen by us to fix the problem. Remember that we told the server about what we were watching. Even though we explained it to her, nothing changed while we were there. While we received our food, ate and waited for our check, the same process repeated over & over again. If only the server or the manager had done something to fix the problem we saw. Or even if he could've just acknowledged that I was actually telling the truth and that he agreed that the behavior that we saw was disgusting and needed to be fixed. But, that never happened. All that he told me was that he'd talk to the employees. To us, actions speak so much louder that words. I have great memories of meeting my dear friends there, nourishing our friendships in such an enriching environment. The coffee was great too. All around just exceptional. Also, I'm gluten free and they had GF toast (an allergen menu is also available). This is a pretty good First Watch location. The food is always delicious, although the staff can be hit or miss. If you're going to come during a busy time go ahead and put in your name on Yelp. And my husband absolutely loves the bacado omelet. We've also split their belgian waffle once, and it is seriously so good. The batter is excellent! They also always have really delicious looking seasonal items, like the cinnamon roll waffle, although I don't usually venture out and try those. However, this past Sunday my husband wanted to try the "Millionaire's Bacon." (Basically candied bacon w/ maple syrup.) I wasn't in the mood but agreed to share it, and boy am I glad I did!!! That bacon was sweet, savory, crunchy, chewy, just.... every amazing sensation your mouth can experience all in one sliver of meat. If you see it on the menu- try it!! DO visit this place for the atmosphere, delicious coffee, and if you're not really that hungry or have anything else to do. DON'T visit this place if you appreciate a good meal, arent really a coffee drinker, or dont like waiting an absurdly long amount of time to he seated and finally eat. We were originally told that our wait would be 35 minutes and it ended up taking over and hour. Our server was prompt and upon being seated, we ordered our food. It took another hour and 15 minutes to recieve our meals. All of our meals were cold, and completely lacked flavor. We chose to not say anything about about it for fear that it would take another hour to get new meals. The "enormous" pancakes are anything but, they are the same size as fast food pancakes. The Belgian waffle takes like was made with batter out of a box, the eggs and potatoes had absolutely no flavor whatsoever and even the toast was disappointing. After 3 hours, we left still hungry. While we were waiting for the rest of our group to get there they brought out our coffee and water. We had ordered the bacon app which was really good and tasty, if you dont like or cant handle spicy dont get the bacon. The majority of our table got the chicichanga, including myself, it was amazing. My wife got the Floridian(fruits) french toast with maple syrup.
