Friend got avocado toast with eggs and I got the 1/2 sandwich with Cobb salad. Everything was great. The server was nice. And some how lunch is less expensive then breakfast. . There is a difference between bad customer service, which any restaurant may have from time to time, and blatantly bad customer policies, protocols, and staff. We arrived for breakfast, put our name on a waiting list, were told we were 4th on the waiting list, and there would be 20 minute wait. We sat down across from the hostess (in her eyesight) to wait. Twenty-Five minutes later we went to the hostess to ask when we would be seated. We were told we were now 12th in line because others had signed in online. You can just imagine our surprise and annoyance. So here is the appalling customer service - 1- The hostess, despite seeing us waiting directly in front of her, never took a moment to inform us of the online sign-ins and our being pushed down the waiting list. 2- If we had not asked about the wait, we could have sat there for hours in front of the hostess with no acknowledgment we existed. 3- When we spoke to the hostess there was no apology for the lack of communication just a curt - "use the app". AND 4- to simply rectify the problem we could just have been seated next! Obviously, we walked out AND we were not the only ones suffering the same disrespect! Even if this restaurant served the best breakfast in the state, we would not return. We will not support a business with such poor social awareness. I would likely give this breakfast/lunch casual restaurant more stars if it wasn't so very loud. My family was sitting next to a large table of people who were celebrating a birthday or something. So that probably made things worse. I'm not sure what they could do with the acoustics but it was distractingly hard to enjoy the delicious food. The first time I had lunch at first watch I enjoyed the soup and half Sandwich. I love the concept of fresh farm to table ask food in a casual approachable atmosphere. This time at first watch we showed up on a Sunday In a bigger group. I'm sure this must be the most busy time to eat there because there was a wait and every table was packed. I think I might do better off going to the restaurant when there are less people at my table. My family of five had a hard time communicating with each other due to the noise. I would give 0 stars to this location if I could. I used to work as a server and hostess so I know it's not always an easy job. Especially during the pandemic, I bet it's understaffed and even more challenging to enforce Covid guidelines. HOWEVER, this is the worst service I have ever experienced. The server barely used her mask, touched me several times, got my order wrong, and charged me for an extra drink that she offered to get for me but I didn't order it!!! I ordered the breakfast tacos, my dad wanted "diner" style breakfast so he went with the traditional, brother got the farmhouse hash, and dads girlfriend went for the Belgian waffle. food came out and the waitress checked on us shortly after we had gotten the food. unfortunately, she didn't make many trips back to check on us after the initial food drop. we needed refills and my dad wanted to order another side item; we found ourselves looking around for someone to come over. seemed like the wait staffs MO was to tend to hang out in front of the kitchen with their backs to the dining room, so it was hard to get someone's attention. overall, food was just OK.. I don't anticipate the breakfast tacos being something I'd crave or go out of my way to have. other items on the menu seemed intriguing, so would def try something else next time. read more

We went this morning and were told there would be a 10 minute wait. We believed them since half the restaurant was open and the tables just had to be bussed. After waiting 35 minutes with a toddler we were finally seated at a table that had been open since we arrived. We were never offered water and after waiting another 15 minutes a server finally came over. We ordered our food immediately and then proceeded to wait another 40 minutes for our food to come out. I had visited a First Watch for the first time about a year ago in Florida. We had to wait as there was a line out the door. The food was delicious, the coffee was really good and the service was excellent. Yesterday I had breakfast at the First Watch in the Gateway Shopping Center assuming it would be as good. Sadly I was wrong. The waitress was friendly and brought coffee immediately. But the coffee was a disappointment. It was very weak as if it had been made with too much water. When our food, I had an eggs Benedict and my friend had eggs over easy, arrived it was cold, even the potatoes were barely warm. My friends toast looked good, a thick cut of seeded bread, but it too was cold with a thick layer of pasty looking butter that never melted into the bread. We had to ask for milk for our coffees repeatedly. The restaurant wasn't even busy so the cold food and slow service were a mystery. We will not go back. read more

I loooove First Watch and the Wayne location did not disappoint! Very spacious, clean, friendly staff, and COVID safety precautions were in place. I was seated right away. Service was extremely lackluster as we literally had to flag down our waitress for more water and coffee, which can be a bit annoying after a while. Food was ok, but it took about 45 minutes to get our main dishes out even though we ordered 1 item as a started. Our meals came out in 3 segments and probably a good few minutes in between and not like the server went back to grab the other dishes waiting. You also take your check to the hostess desk to pay also, which I found kind of weird because you question if this is a full service restaurant.
