Decided on First Watch today, Crocker Park, before grocery shopping. It was busy, packed with families on a bitter cold, but sunny winter day. Our yearly get together for my cousin's birthday NEVER disappoints! The service was much more organized than usual, we got a table for 10 in about 5 minutes. Worse, the cook must have put a bacon press on it because rather than light and fluffy, it was very flat and very dry. Absolutely stupid thing to do, maybe trying to save the 20 cents a piece of bread costs. Disappointing. I would have given one star except the waiter was excellent. read more

Ordered takeout this morning after trying for hours. The app showed you could order in advance so I tried ordering the night before for the next morning, but kept getting an error message that it couldn't be placed. So the next morning, I started and still no luck. So then I called the store and they said the store wasn't currently accepting takeout orders and to call back in 15 minutes. I honestly would have just dropped it, but it was for my husband's birthday. I called back and placed my entire order only for that person to also say they were not taking orders. Nice place and location with indoor and outdoor seating with view to the streets of Westlake OH. Service was fast and attentive and the overall food experience was very good. Pancakes and French Toasts were excellent. However, the one thing that's unforgivable is dirty utensils specially for a high end place like this. And I say high end because of the price. I know so many people that swear that First Watch is the best brunch place. That was not my experience. We had no problem waiting for a table but did not appreciate that the couches in the waiting area has springs poking through the cushions. Ouch! While we waited, I was disgusted to see that some tables were not being cleaned at all and that appeared to be causing a great hold up. At one point, I saw an employee clean part of a communal table (while leaving the other half full of garbage). They then seated people on the clean half. I would have been grossed out sitting next to dirty dishes. Yuck! The service was poor. We ordered a cinnamon roll as soon as we sat down but did not receive it until after our food was served (and only after we reminded them). My friend ordered a juice (which she orders every time she's there) but this time, it was the most awful tasting drink! It was made so poorly and the waitress admitted to us that it was not made consistently. The food was ok but the cinnamon roll was wonderful! I usually don't do chains but this restaurant has a nice diverse menu. I love this place! My mom and I used to frequent this location pre- COVID. But I finally went back this week. They have social distant seating and are cleaning frequently. But they have the same menu, with some fall specials that sounded amazing. I got the steel cut oats with fruit and it came with a muffin. The oatmeal and fruit was amazing! Hot and fresh. I didn't add the milk and gave my fiancé the muffin, by how fast he ate it I'd say it was good. I like this place for healthy breakfast options. He had the waffle, sausage and scrambled eggs. Our food was brought in a timely manner, but my husband's food was all cold. We flagged the server who said she would get a new plate made. In the meantime, I needed to eat mine since I didn't want my soup getting cold. I ate slowly, but finished my soup and a third of the sandwich before his arrived. I am sorry, but that's unacceptable. Either the food is sitting back there and thrown on the plate, or it sits because the server is too busy to bring it.
