I have been to this location several times, and am generally very happy with the food and service I receive. Today however I was extremely disappointed. They were not any busier than normal if you've been to a first watch, you understand what I'm saying . But I will see it on the patio. It was a lovely day and not one but two waitresses came out and served and waited on multiple tables and did not even speak off of water or coffee on my way out another server asked if they could be of service but by that time I was ready to leave would I go back but I go back, maybe. I'm delighted to know that First Watch is even better now than it was when it first opened over a year ago. Many restaurants place great emphasis and effort on the grand opening to garner good reviews and then drop their quality of service and food over time. This wasn't the case at First Watch. My wife and I visited First Watch a year ago on the day after Thanksgiving and were delighted by the quality of food and service, specifically the thoughtfulness and attention to detail from the staff so much so that we had to return one year later. Upon arrival, we were greeted by our hostess who lead us to our table where our family was already seated. Our server promptly arrived to offer beverages, take our orders, and answer questions. As we waited, the manager greeted us at our table and asked if there was anything we needed while our orders were being prepared. The restaurant was well lit with natural lighting and spacious as we remembered it a year ago. The menus were clear and offered a good selection of entrees, sides and daily specials. I ordered the Farmhouse Hasher with eggs over easy. My wife ordered one of the specials -- the double crunch breakfast tacos. Both were brought to us promptly. My wife loved the tacos and said she hadn't had such great tacos like that in quite a while. The farmhouse hasher was as I remembered it - the potatoes were cooked and seasoned perfectly; the bacon nice and crispy; and eggs over easy delicious. Service was great! Ambiance was fine, but we went during a busy time and it was hard to hear our conversations. We had a large group and everyone enjoyed their food. Didn't capture photos since we had so many people in our party. Food the table ordered: avocado toast, maple bacon croissant sandwich, belgian waffle, fruit cup and oatmeal. The best was the maple bacon croissant sandwich. Give this a try! The coffee was pretty bitter. Would go back if in area. NOTE: no real maple syrup is served. Maybe you can request it? I had a wonderful experience at First Watch this morning. Meeting up with my coworker, her daughter, and my infant could have been a challenge, but from the moment we stepped in, we felt welcomed and attended to. The staff promptly seated us in a comfortable booth that even fit my infant's car seat. They kindly stored my stroller at the register, allowing us to enjoy our meal without any hassles. The service was great - our waitress suggested some specialty drinks/juices and between the 3 of us we each got one. I lovedddd my morning meditation juice very bright and earthy and not to mention beautiful! The food arrived quickly; I went for the Trifecta over easy eggs and multigrain pancake. My coworker ordered a Belgian waffle with bacon, while her daughter's Cobb Salad looked fresh and delicious. The restaurant had a chill ambiance and there was plenty of parking outside. The staff's attention was consistent, checking on us multiple times and chatting with us. (I guess everyone loves a newborn.) I'm genuinely appreciative of the First Watch team at this location. Their exceptional service and considerate approach made our get-together very enjoyable. I'm definitely planning on returning. We went around 8 am on a Sunday morning. Staff were welcoming and service was fast. I understand it may get busier later. We had regular coffee but there were lots of beverage options like mimosas and bloody Mary's. Menu is varied with traditional and more unique offerings. Oh I have mixed feelings. This First Watch is so conveniently located in the same plaza as Wegmans. The restaurant is spacious and has a big patio area. Yesterday friends and I went out to breakfast at First Watch on Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE. We are all elderly. Two of us are severely hearing impaired, and one wears a hearing aid. We tried to have a serious discussion about some personal issues. The music was so loud it was impossible for us to hear each other and continue with our discussion. I asked the server if the volume of the music could PLEASE be turned down, as we could not hear each other! He said "No, that was not possible. When I said please, it is really uncomfortably loud and was making it impossible for us to have a conversation, he said "no" again. He explained that is the policy of the restaurant to keep the volume at the same level, at all times. I asked if that was the policy even when customers specifically request the volume please be turned down. He said there are no exceptions, that the volume is never changed under any circumstances! I told him we will definitely not be back. I'm sure he could care less. read more

I had the best lunch yesterday at First Watch, a newly opened restaurant on Concord Pike where Pier One used to be. It is clean, fresh, and fun. The food choices and menu are fresh and modern with interesting choices and combinations of salads, soups, and sandwiches without the price gouging that we witness lately. As for service, it was also perfect. My iced tea came with extra lemon and plenty of ice, which most wait staff ignores. But De'Andra listened and my drink was prepared the way I love it. I had a 1/2 ham sandwich on specialty bread, and a cup of delicious tomato basil soup presented in a lovely way. Savory and splendid. The food is decent but the customer service was terrible. I came in there was no greeter at the checkout/ checkin desk. There was someone before me that was waiting and someone waiting to pay for her check. Several servers walked by us a few times and didn't acknowledge us or say "did someone help you'?" or "let me get someone to help you." I waited for about 6 min before going to get help. I had to go to the back, right outside of the kitchen, and asked "is anyone going to come out to seat people and let people pay for their food?" Then after they finally acknowledged me, it took 7 more minutes after being told your table for 1 is being cleaned off. After waiting for about more 7 minutes, I just walked out. The location needs a better processes with ensuring someone is also upfront to greet people and for cleaning off tables more expeditiously. read more
