First time trying First Watch at this location; the food was great especially the potatoes from the carne asada hash! The ambiance was kind of loud since it was busy (09:30-11:30) and the service was slower than usual, but expected due to the volume of customers. The host misspelled my name and my number, but luckily we were sat down. Overall wait to sit down was 45-55 minutes, but food came around 15-20 minutes after order. This location after putting our name on the wait list online. This is a must for this location. We were seated within 10 minutes of arrival. The wait staff is attentive without hovering. We all ordered the everything Omelette, million dollar potatoes, bacon, grain toast, and a mimosa. Food was served hot and was very tasty. I came here on a Friday morning expecting it to not be as busy, but I was definitely mistaken! Fortunately, you can get on the waitlist or "get in line" before you arrive via their website. My advice is to "get in line" before you leave your house. We got in line before we arrived and then checked in once we got there. Once we checked in we waited about two minutes before being seated. So the system is efficient. Once seated, we were greeted by our waiter who came with coffee and asked if we wanted coffee. I chose to get coffee and asked for suggestions in terms of the menu. I got the farmhouse scramble with a side of grits with cheese. The grits came out with a bit of a too thick of a layer of cheese. It appeared as though some cheese was already blended in and then the thick cheese layer on top was a bit much for me. I enjoyed the scramble, the potatoes had a good crisp to them and were well seasoned. I tried the morning meditation drink and you can definitely taste the turmeric and other ingredients. Our waiter was cool if not just a touch slow. Overall, I enjoyed my meal but I don't see a need to wait anything over twenty minutes for it. So like I said "get in line" ahead of time! I've always wanted to try since it opened here in Woodbridge however my first experience was on a trip to Colorado. I had the Avocado Toast which was delicious, I loved it with the exception of the toast was not toasted enough. I just thought it was a one time thing, so when I decided to try it back at home in Woodbridge, I was again disappointed by the toasting of the bread. My dish (BLT Benedict) and my husband's dish (Classic), his toast barely had any toast/brown to it. I wanted him to ask for a longer toast but I noticed the bread was already buttered. He ate it anyway but it basically looked like buttered bread and not nice crunchy toast. Same with my Benedict, it had allot of sauce and egg yolk with a very light to no toast on the bread. It actually ruined my dish altogether. I did mention this to the server and was told that we should ask for an extra toast next time. I do want to suggest to actually toast the bread enough to create that crunch that many of your dishes need. First watch is my favorite brunch place to go to and I've gone to two other locations regularly. I was invited to the pre-opening event before they opened this week, and took my mom on a mother-daughter date without all the rush :) love it bc it's my favorite place to grab brunch and this location is closer than the other two I go to - hopefully I can go to this one more ! The Woodbridge area has a lot of food spots and this is right near the Best Buy near Potomac Mills Mall so it's hard to miss since it's right by the main road. There is plenty of parking in front of the restaurant. They have limited the menu (which tbh is understandable since they said the staff is new so they want to start them with a limited menu to gain comfort - they mentioned they'll start adding the seasonal items to the menu sometime next month so that's why I didn't take a star off, bc the seasonal stuff is the bessstttt!!! Staff was very nice, personable, attentive and it was actually cute watching the experienced people from other locations train them. I love the morning meditation which is what I got here as well, my mom got a lavender haze. I ordered a frittata rustica, and I was happy bc the taste was consistent with the other locations and the side of seasoned greens actually had a decent amount of dressing (at the locations I frequent, they tend to be really light with the dressing and it's dry). Come here on November 29th 2022. I been a fan of first watch for a while now so I am glad that they open once closer to my house. Ambiance/Location 5/5- The location is at a end of a shopping center with plenty of parking. This location is more appeal and have a wider open feeling to it. I think they also have a dining bar which is nice. The service was also nice , i can tell a lot of staff were being trained still but it was ok . Food 3.5/5- I got my normal usual The work omelet it was good but not like how it normally was. It was less meat and the sausage and bacon that was inside the omelet can cook some more to bring out the aroma and texture but no big deal since they just open recently . The mushroom was perfectly cook but so little. The salad that was serve on the side was a lit much with not enough drizzle of dressing to balance it out. Normally they would ask me If i would like to substitute the side but they didn't so it come with toast and strawberry preserve . I normally I would get fruit. Morning Meditation was refreshing but too much ice !! 4 sip and it was gone. I would come back later, I think they need sometime to get the staff fully trained but I would definitely come here over Ihop , silver Diner , or bob even that close by. Overview: On a Sunday in early March, I dined-in at this establishment. I was in a party of seven and we arrived around 11AM. They do not take reservations, so we put our names on the waitlist and it was an hour and a half wait time. We were seated around 12:30PM. The service was speedy and the food came out quickly but the initial wait time to be seated is what ruins it for me. I would not recommend this place if you have a party of more than four people. If you wish to eat here, get here before 10AM or around 1PM on weekends. Do not come here between 10:00AM - 12:00PM on weekends. I do like that you can scan your receipt to pay. You can even split the bill this way. Food: I had the Monterey Club which comes with potatoes. The sandwich was fine but nothing special. I would skip the pitcher of sangria because it's mostly juice. I would recommend the mimosas because you get to mix your own drink. They bring you a cup of orange juice and a mini bottle of champagne for you to mix it yourself. I also felt the silverware and water cups could have been cleaner. My fork had a piece of hard food stuck to it. Restrooms: The restrooms were clean but very tiny. I could not even do a 360 turn in the stall that I was in, and I am on the slimmer bodyweight side. He was ready with very good suggestions and explained the menu to perfection. We had chocolate chip waffles, bacon, the traditional breakfast, more bacon and biscuits and sausage gravy. Which was the star of the meal, as was the waffle. Eggs were tasty and cooked well. Whole grain toast was dry and more like a bad crouton. Home style potatoes were cooked well and tasted fine. The bacon tasted very good but was very greasy and undercooked, almost raw on some parts. Orange juice and hot chocolate were both top notch. $56 with tip is reasonable, but the default tip starts at 22% instead of the traditional 15%. Just went for the first time today. I don't know what I was expecting the restaurant to be, but I guess I was thinking it would be more like a Panera where you go to the counter, and grab your food. But no, it's an actual sit down, restaurant with wait staff. They also have some kind of bar, I'm assuming that's the juice bar? Going to have to check it out when I have more time. There's also plenty of booth/table seating and a full circle bar with high top chairs. The pressed juices are fresh and delicious, a great sub for OJ or grapefruit juice if you want to try something new. My personal favorite was the mid morning rise with beet juice. The green juice is also tasty. The works omelet was full of toppings and well put together. Also though the breakfast potatoes could use some help. No char or sear and needed some seasoning. The same could be said for cheesy grits- it was grits with cheese sprinkled on top. Def not on par for this southern girl. Although the multigrain toast is buttery and toasted perfectly. The trifecta is a great go to if you're flustered by the multiple menu items. The multigrain pancake is huge and they you can add in blueberries or milk chocolate chips. Make sure to ask for your eggs cooked harder than what you prefer. I asked for over medium and received over easy. The chicken sausage is great with a hint of sage. It's delicious and super refreshing w| strong hints of the turmeric, beets & ginger. Floridian French Toast was SO good. It comes topped w| fresh banana, kiwi and strawberries in addition to a mixed berry compote. It was sweet but not annoyingly sweet and the fruit was the perfect compliment. The sides were all enjoyable as well, potatoes were crispy. The eggs were soft and well seasoned. Lastly, that was some of the best chicken sausage I've had! And it was'nt just my glasses either as i watched the family beside me saying the same thing.. And who doesn't love to pay to eat burnt potatoes that aren't done in the middle? Yum... couldn't finish (2 bites) the beef sandwich i got with it because I lost my appetite. Also very watery shrimp and grits that had absolutely no flavor, delish right? This is the third location I've been to so, I know to always expect a wait, even if you call ahead to get out on the waitlist. When we walked in, we were told there would be a 45 min - 1 hour wait. After over an hour passed by, I walked up to see where we were in line. We were #2 by then. Then the hostess called my name. She asked if I had received a text. I told her no so, it looked like she tried sending it again and asked again if I had received it. I told her no. She read the phone number she had taken down, and it was incorrect. I never would've received a notification if I hadn't followed up with them. After we were sat, it took another 20 minutes to get our food. I've been had this experience before. Then we got our food, mine didn't seem hot and fresh. Other than getting the wrong number though, the customer service was good. Our server was friendly.
