I love that Fischer gives you a quote when you call to book. Also, at this time they don't charge for drive time. When I called to schedule my move, the scheduler was polite and efficient. They actually called to confirm the Saturday before my move (I moved today, which is Monday), which is when they said they would call. They called shortly prior to arrival on Monday, and they moved me within the timeframe they quoted. We had our stuff moved from our old place into a storage unit a while ago, and we used a different company. While the crew at the other company was very good, the office staff was awful, and we weren't even sure that the movers on the front end were going to show. Unfortunately, that experience made us look for others movers to get us out of the storage unit and into our new house. We got lucky with Fischer because Paul and Ali were amazing. Fischer gave us 2 guys, and they moved us just under 4 hours, and we had a VERY full 10x20 storage unit. The prior movers gave us 3 guys, and took over 4 hours (to be fair, the prior movers had to use an elevator, which took time). Still, Paul and Ali were very extremely fast and also treated our furniture like it was their own. I agree with other reviewers that using Fischer was completely painless. That is not a word that is often associated with moving. Just sayin'. read more

Michael B and Dom always do an amazing job. They've moved for us 4 times. Michael always makes sure everything is well taken care of. He makes sure the old felt pads on the legs of furniture are replaced with new ones. He even gave us pointers on how to fix the furniture and floors that were previously damage (not by him or the other workers). Michael, Dom, and everyone is always so courteous and respectful. Very good company to help move your home. We had Fischer move us from Arvada to Centennial last month and they did a great job, very friendly, respectful and fast staff. We had about 2000 square feet of home to move, and there were only a few items damaged. I feel that having items damaged in a move is just something that happens, the guys worked hard at not damaging anything, but that's why it's called an accident. The one item we were most worried about was the mirror on our heirloom bedroom dresser, the frame split at some point. The guys took the mirror back to their wood shop and I figured they wouldn't be able to fix the wood and blend the stain due to being a custom stain. However, when we got the mirror back, the repair was flawless! My recommendation to someone needing to move is to over-estimate how much you have and if you get a choice, take the larger truck and the larger crew. Come moving day, you'll be glad you did! We had a good experience with Fischer moving us from one 3-bedroom house to another in Central Denver. They were pricey - about $1100 before tip for 6 hours. However, this is our third time using professional movers and the very first time that nothing at all was broken, scratched or lost. They took great care with our stuff. The 3-man crew worked hard and were extremely friendly. They clearly know how to work well together, and skillfully and quickly move heavy objects around without hitting door frames or walls. They have a system and it works efficiently. They definitely know what they are doing. They were also able to negotiate tight parking and alleys in our congested Central Denver neighborhoods without a problem. We were stressed about this beforehand, but they handled it just fine. Overall, we'd definitely use them again. Only complaint is that they are not cheap, but ultimately it was a great move. It would be nice if they were able to break up price intervals into half hours instead of only hours, to keep the price down. But they finished our move with about a half hour left on the clock and offered to help us set up TVs, put together tables, etc. so it wasn't wasted, although we could have done those things ourselves for free. Expect to pay quite a bit, but you get great service that you wouldn't get from cheaper movers. read more

There were no fine-prints, surprises or hidden costs. The explanation and paperwork is streamlined. My floor was brand new and they took care of it. After hiring this company to unload my POD last year, I was very impressed with the professionalism and accurate quote I was given...so I decided to use them for my move a couple of weeks ago. During this move, I had a TERRIBLE experience with Fischer Van Lines after my move ended up costing more than double what I was originally quoted...$1,600 total to move a 2BR apartment. Not only that, but the truck broke down half way through the day, several of my items were damaged, and when I spoke with the owner (Jeff Fischer) at the end of the day about my concerns, he was very rude and dismissive. Who does this? They left their tools in an elevator in a parking garage near our condo. We were nice enough to look around and find them. They told us they would return the next day to pick them up...no one showed. We did receive multiple phone calls at almost 8pm in the evening 5 days later wanting to come get them then. I was on a conference call which did not detour them from calling repeatedly. When I complained about this the owner accused us of lying and said we "borrowed" the tools. We have a garage full, why would we need to borrow them & who accuses customers of fallacy? They broke 3 items but didn't let us do a walk through prior to signing their agreements. Thus would not pay for our items. They would not let me speak on the phone. Spoke over me. When professional emails were sent with grievances they accused me of not being civil just because they didn't "enjoy" what was being said. In my experience issues cannot be resolved if they are not communicated. Isn't it every business owners benefit to improve their company any way they can?! When I complained I was accused of being irrational and if I emailed them in the future they would attempt to charge me "with harassment." In my 11 years of owning my own company I have never witnessed such horrible service and such discriminatory behavior. I would detour anyone who asked from hiring this company. read more

We used Fischer Moving a year ago to move from one side of the city to the other. To begin with, they were always super friendly while communicating on the phone. They did their best to help me figure out how much stuff we had to move, but I did a horrible job of remember how much junk we had! Despite this, they did a phenomenal job. The two guys they sent worked HARD! We had a lot of very heavy stuff and they moved it all with absolutely no problems and it was snowing! The only issue we had was a small tear in one of our couches, but they repaired it without question. We are getting ready to move again and will use them this time again! read more

So I used Fischer bc they had good reviews but after my experience I'm skeptical to say the least. For a one bedroom apt I was quoted 4 hrs and 2 movers for around $500. The move ended up being an 8 hr ordeal and cost me over $1300 with tip to move 1 MILE!!!! seriously, it was ridiculous. Craig said it was because the guys had a long walk between the van and elevator. True, but if they had moved in the time frame we had set up it would have been easier. We did not even arrive to my new place until around 2pm which was way after my elevator time was scheduled. We used a different elevator that was further away bc the regular one they use for tenants was now in use by other movers and because of this the move took longer. I think it would be better to give someone a solid quote and that's it. Then, the movers have some incentive to get things done faster. I also think they really needed three movers instead of two. totally get that people underestimate their boxes, etc but that's what the walk through is for and to underestimate by four hrs?! Another issue I had with them is their customer service. I planned on buying the additional insurance bc my furniture is mostly new from restoration hardware and crate and barrel. I called multiple times prior to my move to solidify the details; when I finally got an answer they said they would deal with the insurance the day of the move. I thought the insurance was vague. They have you sign this form but don't give you anything in writing about how long you have to make a claim, who to call, etc. I did ask the movers about how long you have to make a claim and they were vague about it. when I called them 2.5 wks after my move ( not 2.5 months) to tell them my restoration hardware nightstand was damaged, the manager Craig said he would get back to me that day and never did. I called the following day and he was off. it took me practically a week to get an answer. At that point he essentially accused me of lying about my piece and said I signed off on the move the day It happened. how is anyone supposed to look through everything on the day of their move to make sure nothing's broken? When I moved forward to make a claim anyway with the insurance, I was told to get the policy number. Stupidly, I called them to get it and Craig told me to stop calling or he would put me on a don't call list!!!! He actually threatened to SUE me if I didn't take down my bad review!!!!! Wouldn't it be much easier and better customer service to say, hey, you know what we are going to fix it free of charge bc even though you signed some form, your nightstand was fine before the move and clearly it's damaged 2.5 wks later. Especially when I spent the extra $100 for the additional insurance protection. I explained to them that you cannot see the damage until you actually open the drawer. also, I was away for one of those weeks which is why I didn't notice even sooner but they didn't care. As a woman, I felt bullied by this guy. it makes we wonder how many other people they threatened into taking down their bad reviews! I will say the movers seemed nice and professional, although they were slow and took breaks that I was charged for. That is my last complaint. The customer should not be charged for breaks bc then what's the incentive for them to get things done faster? There should be maybe a set number of breaks they get per move that are not included in the price. I would NOT recommend them to anyone. If you are already scheduled to use them, don't bother with the additional insurance. So far, it seems like it was a waste. read more

I highly recommend this moving company to anyone moving: house, condo, or apartment. I actually researched moving companies when preparing for our move from a 3rd floor apartment to a house. Due to a bad moving experience a couple of years ago (bad service and charged us way over what the quote was because we had "heavy boxes") I wanted to check out reviews from previous customers. I found information about Fischer on their website, and then read many rave reviews on Google. It had the most positive feedback out the 4 or 5 different moving companies I looked at. I first had narrowed it down to Fischer and Johnson moving. Fischer had me fill out a form online, marking the number of beds, tv's, couches, boxes, etc. Then they emailed me a quote, which ended up being around $300 for 2 movers. They did not charge any extra for stairs, mileage, or moving us on a holiday (Memorial Day). Johnson Moving actually sent someone out to our apartment to take a look around and give us a free estimate. The guy went to each room and wrote down everything we had....basically wasted about 2 hours of my day off. He then emailed me the quote later which was around $1000. Pretty ridiculous for a small 1 bedroom apartment! We went with Fischer, and I'm very glad we did. The 2 movers were great: hard workers, many years of experience, quick, and friendly. They talked and joked around with me, all while working their asses off and stopping only once for a break (which is saying a lot, since our apartment was up 3 flights of stairs!). They ended up setting down the last box at the 3 or 4 hour mark, on the dot. The total was exactly what I had been quoted. My one small complaint was that they showed up 20 minutes late. However, they didn't start the clock until the minute they grabbed the first box. read more

We called Fischer Van Lines to help us with a very quick and simple job. We received an estimate for the job in which they described their pricing breakdown. The estimate was confirmed when we did the math and asked if we could expect to spend around $250. We accepted the estimate however when Fischer Van Lines called the day before to confirm our appointment the price had suddenly gone up $100. The office staff and management insisted on not budging though it was mis-communication on their side. I received a quote over the phone for a residential move of a small 2 bedroom apartment to a new location 2 blocks away. This was an estimate I was given by the owner after describing the contents of my home. I was given a quote based upon 2 men for 4 hours, which I assumed was a good estimate based upon his experience and the information I had provided to him. The day before the move, I received a confirmation phone call by an employee who suggested a third man so the move would go more quickly. Although I was a little hesitant about the extra cost, I agreed to it, figuring that the move would be easier. The final result was that it took 3 men 6 HOURS to load and unload my belongings, they left a significant amount of my items at the original address, "forgot" to unload my toolbox, and did not put my dining room table back together telling me I needed to get more screws. The move ended up costing me TWICE the amount of the original quote AND I had to go to the van office in person to get my toolbox, on the other side of Denver. It took an additional 5 trips for me to transfer my belongings. The men were pleasant enough and Paul did a good job, but at least one of them spent most of his time on his cell phone inside the truck. I have sent emails, called the office and have gone in person to reconcile this. I am told the owner is "out of town". The response to emails is a stalling tactic, posing more questions to me each time and telling me that there are "jobs on the line" as if it was my fault for registering a complaint. The owner has never called me back to speak to me directly.i deserve a response and some effort on their part to make this customer satisfied. Based upon my personal experience, I would not refer anyone to this company. read more

Ron and Josh were very friendly and efficient and were very careful around the glass doors and sidelights in each of the offices. I've used these guys 3 times because they have never lost anything or damaged anything. But, they've been late when elevator reservations mattered and every time move a bit slow. They were hours upon hours early the last move - which worked out - but it could have been bad. It takes starting to help them to get them into gear. While wardrobe boxes are provided, they don't always have them on the truck - or they are so damaged it's not worth using them. There are absolutely no discounts for repeat customers. If you ask, they say it's because of their positive reviews. So, I'm giving you my honest feedback. Their pricing is completely flat rate, so there's no hidden surprises. However, they seem to like to move at a snail's pace to charge an extra hour. So, it's a mixed bag. All in all - I think the 3 stars is the perfect rating from my experience with 3 moves. Showed up when they said they would, did a good job packing my stuff, and stuck close to the estimate. Up front about costs. Very helpful and stuck around to help move stuff around the new house after it was unloaded. They were very careful with my stuff, especially the large furniture. (Not sure they brought anything to cover carpets near the old and new front door entryways, but I'd already laid down heavy-duty plastic floor protection so it was no problem.) As local moving companies go, I'd say they're as good as it gets and I would definitely trust them with my next move. read more

Not sure at what point to delete the old reviews and just write a new one, but here's the latest: I received a call from Fischer after calling about the additional $720 charge. I was told that they can't find record of our original payment (for $920, I believe.) no one called us about this. Rather than calling us to confirm we HAD paid (we absolutely did,) they charged us $720. Instead of giving us the $200 refund we'd expected they charged us $720 MORE. The gentleman on the phone did apologize that no one called us before this was done. And he's looking into it on their end. Meanwhile they've asked us to send a screen shot of our CC statement with original payment on it, so we have to waste more time this morning dealing with their bookkeeping for them. How is this professional behavior? ...my husband just texted me the screenshot of our first payment. Hoping to sort this out at some point in the foreseeable future. This is ridiculous. read more

"We can not be held responsible for items that are not transported on our trucks. Once the goods are loaded on the truck safely and the door closes we are not responsible for the items in transportation". those are the words, in writing, of the owner Jeff Fischer after I tried to file a claim with them from their sub par loading job I hired these clowns to load my trucks outside Denver. 2 separate loading jobs, 1rst one on March 21, the 2nd a week later.. One 28 ft truck and a 2nd truck where I used 5 feet of space.My stuff got to Tucson, 4 busted picture frames later , a broken and expensive glass shelf for my dining room buffet ,a busted up hanging wall piece and a scratched wood patio table .There was glass everywhere on the floor of the truck after professional movers unloaded the trucks in Tucson (EZ Moving, great bunch) . Fischer never put any pads around the broken picture frames just laid them in a bunch in the truck , predictable results. My couch had an indention in it. Luckily being leather it withstood any puncture. The first truck was loaded up by a crew headed by their assistant manager. I provided them with around 80 U-Haul moving pads and told them I would be happy to get more pads down the street if needed.They assured me they had enough. Both the broken glass and couch indention were in the job handled by the assistant manager. the rest of the damage cane from the 2nd crew.My 46 inch ig screen TV made it in one piece. I did not have the original box. I told them to bubble wrap it before they loaded it up, they did. I tried to file a claim. I called them. Spoke to Shane the assistant manager, same guy who ran the first loading job. He blew me off, not before blaming the truck, the movers down here in Tucson and the sun god. He told me I needed to contact the owner, Jeff Fischer to discuss any claims . I did. This is Jeff Fischer's response to my claim (and policy): "We can not be held responsible for items that are not transported on our trucks. Once the goods are loaded on the truck safely and the door closes we are not responsible for the items in transportation". In other words they really don't give a !@%! how they load anything, not their problem , very professional One shabby operation if you ask me. Stay Away. too many good movers out there. check reviews. That is how I found the guys who did such a great job unloading my stuff in Tucson and I will use them again If I ever need to. These Fischer characters are hit and run all the way. their policy is If it's not loaded on one of their trucks, they don't much care how they get your stuff loaded. read more

I was insanely hungover and stressed on moving day....not a good combo. I wouldn't recommend getting sloshed the night before a big move....but whatever that's not really important. My guys showed up chipper and ready to start the day. Immediately upon arrival, it became very clear that these weren't three individuals moving me, but a team of one. They interacted with each other and myself with the upmost professionalism. Super friendly...which was pretty fantastic given that they were moving all my belongings. To me, that's pretty personal. Moving is super crappy, but these guys made sure to make this part of my move go as smoothly as possible...all the while with smiles on their faces. :) Being super hungover and grumpy, I had a very short fuse that day. Not once did they light it. :) I was so happy about how quickly they moved all my stuff. All I really wanted was to go back to bed to sleep off my shame and wounded pride. On another note, it's obvious that Fischer takes care of their employees and that Fischer's employees take pride in their work and their company. These guys love their company. After reading all the reviews I had very high expectations. One word, overrated. My brother and I ended up having to help and do a large portion of the work, it was definitely an hourly rate kind of gig for them. I had a piece of furniture damaged and it was like pulling teeth to get them fix it properly. Overall, I was less than impressed. In April 2013, my family moved from a 2 bedroom apartment to a 3 bedroom apartment across town. We called around to get quotes and looked at reviews. We went with Fischer, even though a tad more expensive, because their reviews were awesome. They gave us a quote with all of the estimated prices and told us what to expect. We hired 2 movers with a 25 foot truck. The movers were Michael Beersl and Justin Smith. Everything went smoothly. No hidden or unexpected charges. The movers were friendly, strong, and knew what they were doing. They were respectful of our possessions and nothing was damaged. They completed the job within the time frame that was quoted. We are finally moving into a house this year and we are using Fischer Van Lines again (already scheduled). They let me know about the special deal on Yelp to save me money, which was super nice of them. I will leave another review after we move into our house. read more

I'm just a plain ol' normal Denver girl but I decided to do a review since I was unsure which company would be safe and didn't want to just choose the cheapest price. I did some research before and this company is very trustworthy. Be careful with some of the other ones and make sure they have the proper credentials. The owner Jeff was very friendly on the phone and made the setup process easy. On move day, the movers Brad and Josh did an INCREDIBLE job moving my things onto the truck and then up a flight of stairs. Not only were they safe and careful with my belongings (even a piano), they HUSTLED. In between loads, they were literally jogging back into the apartment to get more. I was extremely impressed. I didn't have a single scratch on my items or any issues. They even helped put my bed frame together since they had a bit of time left. I was very pleased and would use them again.
