I had a last minute move, which is stressful in itself. Being the case, I couldn't rely on friends to help with the move. I made a few phone calls and was able to get a speedy reply from Fischer Van Lines. This was the only company that replied with a personal phone call. I was given an a quote up front, and the price wasn't higher because this was a last minute move. The cost was $75 per hour for a minimum of 3 hours and a 40 fuel charge. Jeff Fischer was very friendly and very professional. I received a confirmation call the night before the move, and a courtesy call to let me know when the movers were in route. This was the best experience I've ever had with movers. There were two men driving the truck. When they arrived they both introduced themselves to me. We signed the paperwork, and they went right to work. I was amazed at how quickly they had everything loaded. They went directly to the delivery site, and they unloaded just as rapidly as they loaded, and they were very careful to make sure they didn't damage anything. They did an amazing job helping to get things organized at the drop off site, while still keeping an eye on the time. This was by far the best experience I've ever had with movers. I highly recommend this company. After everything was complete, Jeff Fischer even took the time to personally ask if I was satisfied with the service. I was more than satisfied with their service. My wife and I have moved many places and have used numerous moving companies to accomplish our needs. Our only wish is that we knew about Fischer for the other moves we have made. We moved on Dec 21 2015 and it has to be the best experience ever. When we called Fischer to set up the move I got the most courteous person I have ever spoken to over the phone, I believe his name was Shane. He was very polite and helpful and gave us a quote via e-mail. The crew, made up of Harry, Eric, Cody and Sasha called as they were leaving and were right on time. I have never met a more courteous group of movers in my life. They introduced themselves to us and set straight to work. After we had finished with paperwork Harry went straight to work. The crew even helped us load some items in our cars, which I have never had happen on previous moves. Once we got to our new residence they quickly unload and even setup a few beds for us, WOW what a great company. I was even invited on the truck to make sure everything was unloaded, A DOUBLE WOW as I never expected that to happen. I've moved over 50 times in my life, and this company was far and above the best out of everyone I've ever used. That's spanning about 50 years of moving around, so I've seen it all. The lady in the office was great, knew all the right questions to ask, and was super nice too. Great communication skills, she and the owner kept me informed about when they were coming, and letting me know they were still on the day before. They called right before they left, and the driver called me on the way too. When the movers got to my house, right on time, Mike said they weren't like other movers. I'm thinking "yeah, right, I've heard that before". He wasn't lying, they certainly weren't like any other movers I've ever used. They were short a guy, so I wasn't expecting to get done as fast as I would have liked. That wasn't even an issue. They ran up the 19 stairs to my apartment after every load, and ran down the stairs with some stuff. They never took a break, and loaded the truck perfectly, all while going at it like they were in an iron man contest. With just 2 guys, they had a 25 foot truck packed full, moved across town, and unloaded in 3 hours. Yep, 2 guys, 3 hours. 4 counting driving to the job. Very impressed! My movers, Darius and Harry, showed up on-time and were friendly and fun. They turned a stressful day into a fun experience overall. I had a lot of stuff and together, we moved it into a storage unit. They packed my unit high and tight such that I didn't need an overflow unit. I was very impressed with the care in which they handled my items. They truly handled my items as I would have done so. They also took great lengths to take care of my home's new paint job as well. I was very impressed overall and I'll be using Fischer to move me into my new home in a few months. Things I would have done differently if I had known: I would have paid Fischer to pack my items had I known that service existed. The movers insure the boxes that they pack. The individual movers are responsible for breakage on the items they pack and move. This really increases the responsibility in which this service takes care of your items. I didn't pay for this service but my movers still treated my items with the same respect. Additionally, I would have negotiated for a third man had I known that was an option. We could have moved my items a bit faster and possibly saved just a little time on their hourly rate. All things considered - they did a fantastic job and I will use them again. We hired Fischer Van Lines to move us to our new apartment on Saturday, September 15th, 2018. We had Steve and Geoff as our moving crew that day. Not only were Steve and Geoff super cool, professional and total rock stars, they moved all of our stuff without any damage. As this was our 3rd move in a year, we found out with this move from Steve that the previous moving company didn't take apart our Sleep Number bed correctly and they also broke our recliners when they took the backs off of them to move them and broke the pins that held them on correctly. The previous movers didn't hook up our Sleep Number bed correctly last time and this time Steve made sure they were set up correctly before he left for the day. He also put the correct backs on the recliners, as the previous movers had switched them around and they didn't work correctly for a year until Steve fixed them. It was a wicked hot day that day and they totally kicked ass moving our stuff and Geoff totally rocked it that day carrying everything he could by himself while Steve was setting up our Sleep Number bed and fixing the recliners. After learning our lesson with the crappy moving company, we will ALWAYS use Fischer for any of our future moves because they really are the BEST in Denver! By far this was the best experience I have had using a moving company! Everyone that I interacted with at Fischer Van Lines was very professional and friendly, from scheduling to moving day. The movers that helped me, Josh and Marcos, did a wonderful job. They were very efficient and attentive throughout the entire process. One moment in particular really stands out to me as a good example of the excellent service Fischer Van Lines provides to its clients. As we were preparing to make our way to the apartment complex, I told Josh and Marcos that I would call them immediately after speaking with the leasing office to let them know where the service elevator was located in the building, so they could begin unloading the van. I was in the leasing office for about 30 minutes due to an unexpected delay and did not have an opportunity to contact them. During that time, I fully expected Josh and Marcos to be waiting on my call for further instructions in a parking lot somewhere given our last conversation. However, when I finally called I was pleasantly surprised to learn that they had already found the service elevator entrance on their own and had begun bringing boxes up to the apartment. Excellent moving company!! We had a complicated double move with many factions going on. Ron's vast experience showed as he planned the best way to handle all the details. Ron thought of things we never would have. He was pleasant and calm and reduced what could have been a very stressful day into a pleasant one. Our daughter here in Denver has moved a lot and highly recommended to us to use Fischer Van Lines as they have been her easiest moves. This is our sixth move in two years and these guys are the best. They were on time, efficient, and obviously experienced. Fischer's estimate seemed they'd be quite a bit more expensive than our last (easier) move (based on how long I told them the last move took) but we wanted experienced people this time. It turned out that Fischer's men were so knowledgable and efficient that they were done in about half the time of our last move, it was more professional without damages, and the cost actually turned out to be close to the last move. Moving's never fun but having a team of real professionals certainly makes it easier. Fischer honored the yelp coupon, no hidden fees, just a positive experience overall for a very complicated move. After ten years in our home, we decided to dowsize. We moved to a smaller place about a mile from where we had lived. After having had a couple of nightmare moves with " professional" movers, I was hesitant to hire another moving company. But oh I am so glad that I did. Getting the move scheduled was so easy and the office staff were great. Thy did not ask for a deposit which very pleasantly surprised me. A few days before the move, an employee called me to confirm the services that I would need. Then the day before the move, someone else called to re-confirm and ask if I would like to add a third man to the moving crew. I said yes, please! The morning of the move Eric, Harry and Vince showed up with an enormous truck. For the next six hours they kicked butt! A few times they asked if I monded if they take a break. By all means, I said. They work on a flat hourly rate and explained their fees upfront both before the move and then again the morning of the move. Organization is not one of my strong suits but they took it in stride and made this move much less painful then past experiences. I was very please and impressed with their consideration and professionalism. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone that needs a good, professional company. read more

Full Disclosure: I own a moving company in Seattle, but I can promise you there is no bias here. We are mostly a local company, however occasionally we go out of state and we need extra hands. This is a scary proposition, as you never know what you'll get, and as a well reviewed company ourselves, our reputation and quality of work are of the upmost importance. I came out to Denver 6 years ago and had a great experience with one of their guys, who was running with me back and forth to unload the truck. Worth every penny for an interstate move! They are more expensive than the national van lines, but when it comes to moving you truly get what you pay for and Fischer did a phenomenal job. Lindsay was amazing to work with - she was patient in answering questions, upfront about costs and worked around our tight schedule. Chris and Curtis were super professional and clearly experienced - they packed and loaded on time and were lightning fast unloading at our destination (we had a reserved, limited time-slot and they finished with time to spare!) Best part? Not a single item was damaged - no broken glassware, no scratches on the furniture, TVs and electronics were perfect. Some of this can be attributed to the fact that they load a dedicated truck and drive it straight to your destination - unlike the bigger van lines - but the team also did a great job of loading and securing our items in the truck. If you're considering an interstate move I would highly recommend choosing this local company over the national van lines - they are worth the premium and you won't be disappointed. read more

First, let me say that I have moved many times. In light of past experiences, I researched movers in the metro Denver area. Based upon reviews posted here and elsewhere, I chose Fischer to do this move. The office staff and moving staff were polite, courteous, and timely. The movers knew their stuff and only took two five minute breaks, plus lunch (which i bought). Although the movers worked hard, the final bill was pretty high. There was only one damaged item: the corner support for an antique dresser was chipped off and lost. I did not report the damage because I was not completely sure they did it - I never found the piece. Perhaps I did it when packing. I'm sure they would have addressed the problem had I reported it. So with a good review like this, why can't I use them again? Turns out that the front of their truck is painted with some religious stuff, like: "xxx moves in mysterious ways". We could not be more thankful that we went with Fischer Van Lines Moving and Storage. They were awesome. Shane, Ron, and Justin just finished our move and they could not have been kinder and more professional. We hired them to move our stuff from three pods parked on the street to our apartment. We used the pods because we were doing a long distance move from Baltimore. This meant moving all our stuff down the sidewalk, up a flight of stairs, down another hallway, and up two more flights of stairs. They did all of this in under the three hours and in pouring rain. The guys were careful to put down materials to keep the water off our floors, and were so cheerful and kind the whole time. In addition, they packed some of our things in a storage unit in the building--another long distance to go from the pods! We are so glad to have found this company. They will absolutely be our go-to moving company while we are in Denver, and we will request Justin, Ron and Shane. read more

We simply can't say enough good things about Fischer Van Lines! We first discovered and hired them in June 2016 (please see JP review posted 6-22-2016) and then again last weekend. They were the ultimate in scheduling flexibility (our dates kept changing), courtesy, demeanor (unfailingly polite and cheerful), and they moved all our goods as if they were handling their dearly beloved grandmother's treasures -- carefully, gently, zero damage, hustling all the way.They genuinely enjoyed themselves, and helped reduce our stress with comments such as, "Thank you for letting us be a part of your move" and, if we found ourselves apologizing for anything, "There's no such thing as 'sorry' on moving day!" I used them to move about a month ago, and those guys were alright. They told me right away they wanted to be out of there ASAP, which cost me some scratches and damaged furniture. They didn't wrap things properly. However, I've never had a descent mover, so these guys just blended in with the rest. We used them again for a move today- great experience!!! These guys were way better!! Jay and Richard moved us from our apartment and packed storage unit to a new house. I was so paranoid with the house being brand new, but they were so careful and courteous. They even did it all within the time limit before you get charged more, and they even stayed after to help put our couch back together. Too bad I couldn't find a great nicer until now! I won't need one for a while, but I will absolutely recommend them to others. I would request Richard and Jay (I think that's his name), though. This past weekend my wife and I closed on a new house and had Fischer Van Lines move our personal property to our new home. Our experience was absolutely outstanding! We were assigned four men - Ali,Freddy,Ron and Brian - to our job and the four of them were beyond our expectation. All four men were super personable and very thorough. They all addressed us politely and were always intent on asking our permission before moving or lifting anything they had a question about. The price we were quoted was very accurate and the four men worked quickly enough that we actually ended up paying less than we were quoted due to their pace and attention to the overall job. We have recommend Fischer Van Lines to two other couples at this point and will continue to let people know of our very positive experience. I used Fischer Van Lines because there are so many other local moving companies that have one star reviews. I want to pass on the fact that Fischer made the small move I had very easy. Night before, they called to verify addresses and prices expected in detail. No surprises at either end of the move, and all were very courteous. Easy set up, easy confirmation, got called about an hour before scheduled pickup time to confirm and gave drivers directions, the workers (Josh and Ron) were very polite, pleasant, efficient and were able to complete the move within the three hour minimum by hustling and not wasting any time. That doesn't imply that they rushed carelessly, they were very careful with my stuff and were just very efficient in what they did. I wanted to express my appreciation to and highly recommend Fischer Van Lines for their cooperation in scheduling, care and efficiency, and pricing of a local move in the Denver area. Mike, Josiah and Fresquez arrived on-time and moved the contents of my daughter's one bedroom, second-floor apartment into a locally-rented storage unit on a very hot summer afternoon. Although the apartment complex did not have an elevator and the temperature approached 100 degrees, they completed their work in only two and a half hours, including the custom boxing of two large paintings and placing a queen-sized mattress in a cover that they procured in advance. Jerome led a solid team including Johnny and Kevin. The guys have an absolute 'can-do' attitude and they clearly take pride in the job they do but also show a lot of pride in working for Fischer Van Lines. All of them were exceptionally polite, took GREAT care to move my large, heavy entertainment center but also they went above and beyond to protect my wood floors at the point of origin and my carpeting at the destination. I moved from Mead to Colorado Springs and I did a lot of online research before selecting Fischer. I have had positive dealings with other movers but I will call Fischer first for my future needs and I would highly recommend them to anyone that needs moving services in areas that Fischer serves. Brad, Daniel and Jerome were absolutely amazing - the Spartan Team! The job they came to do was pack up a moving trailer that was going to another state. They worked diligently and took great care with all of my belongings. You could tell they really cared about doing things the right way and not rushing through it. They were professional and communicated with me the entire time. It took slightly longer (only 1/2 hour) than the original time estimate to load my things, but that's because they were ensuring things were packed tightly and with caution because my load was being transported across 5 states. I would use them again in a heartbeat. I only wish they would do interstate moves so I could have used them at my final destination!
