We have been coming here for years and the last two visits have been very disappointing. When all you serve is fish, the quality has to be king. Overdone does not cut it. Never mind that the fish pieces keep getting smaller and the prices keep going up, but if the fish is not up to standard then we are not coming back. Trendy decor and perfect fish & chips! Food: 5* Tried the Halibut, cod, fisherman platter, deep fried burger all amazing! Lightly battered, perfect tangy/creamy coleslaw and thick tartare sauce. The deep fried burger is coated lightly like dusted fried onions, had the best crunch the whole table could hear on the bite down. Thick cut fries the size of a finger and condiments tray even had a malt vinegar spray bottle to coat them with. Clam chowder was decent, thick enough with bits of clams, but not overly powerful. Sips: 2* A huge let down since the restaurant name is "Fish & Sips". Not many choices of sips, not well described on menu either. The Caesar arrived in regular glass, not spice rimmed, only a thin slice of lime and lemon garnish, was just ok. The ciders had two options from cans, no names or descriptions on menu. We had to inquire info for all the small selections of alcohol. Not what we thought for the drinks at all. There were more happening places down the street. Decor: 5* Fresh, clean and trendy from front area, wall of mirrors to the other side of seating with booths and chairs and washroom. Lots of bright light from big windows facing main street. Have Kids? 1* NOT Family friendly at all. No kids menu, activities, or straws for the glass drinks. There might have been highchairs or boosters seats but not offered. Stayed in Collingwood and explored downtown Collingwood area which was refreshing compared to the Blue Mountain touristy vibe. I do highly recommend this fish and chips spot. The service here is very friendly and attentive. There was a good variety of items to choose from but we decided on their Special Fish and Chips. If I remember correctly it was cod but it was so good! It was perfectly battered and light. A very welcoming take on the Fish and Chips plus it was not greasy at all. The clam chowder was also very good! Definitely had a good amount of seafood and a good consistency of a chowder. Overall, I do recommend checking this spot out if you're a fan of Fish and Chips and in the Collingwood area. If I'm visiting again, I definitely want to come back here for more food. The stars aligned perfectly for this meal. My girlfriend and I were looking to go to another place down the road but was too busy so we kept walking and found this place. And thank god we did! Very clean and nice place with really great and attentive service. Michelle was our server and she was so great. The food quality was very high. Had a late lunch there yesterday. One of our very favourite places to have a late lunch when in Collingwood. Recently renovated, it is simply decorated and welcoming. The owner is friendly and remembers her regulars even if it's been awhile! Great summer ciders and ales. We tried both apple and pear ciders which were both ice cold and refreshing. Fish and chips is a simple dish that, when done well, can be an absolutely perfect meal! The fish here is so very lightly battered that it is difficult to tell that there is any batter. It is lightly golden brown and perfectly crispy. Some of the best fish you will ever have. The fries are good but not special. The key lime pie is home made by the owner and you can order a pie ahead of time. Only available for pick up 1 day a week. Trust me, it is worth the effort! read more

The decor is fashioned with unique mirrors reminiscent of the UK. Staff are extremely friendly. The restaurant is completed with beer options on the tap. Our meals were average. It could be cause I went with the healthier grilled haddock option - Calorieswise ($13.50). At the time the restaurant ran out of salad and substituted it with mushy peas. The fish was not fresh. Mushy peas was bland. I would not recommend this main. My partnered ordered the Halibut fish and chips ($16.40). He enjoyed the fries and fish. He felt it was flavorful. The fish was fried to perfection. For dessert, we opted for their infamous Key Lime Pie. While I love the strong pounced flavour of lime, it was too sweet for my liking. I hadn't had fish and chips in forever. After driving by the sign advertising Fish & Sips multiple times, I finally decided to give them a try. When we went to pick up the order, the place was packed. That is because the food is ah-mazing!! (Duh) The flaky fish in crispy batter was perfection. The chips were soft but not mushy. Cute little fish n' chips shop with neat decor. Hostess was welcoming and our server was super nice! My little guy kept throwing the spoons on the floor and she got him some new ones. He really liked her and babbled through dinner, calling after her when she went away. We ordered the cod and chips, and an appetizer clam strips. The cod was a generous portion so I shared that with my preschooler. The kids were entertained watching the food being prepared behind the counter. The restaurant was about 80% full on a Tuesday night with the outside seating fully seated. There were quite a few take-out orders too. One thing I noticed however was that there was a lot of smoke from the fryer that filled the restaurant. When our orders arrived, the fish looked nicely battered though I prefer my fries lighter (a bit dark for my tastes). The batter was light and the fish was nice and flakey. The clam strips were good too! For dessert, we tried the fried pineapple rings with ice cream. We thought it was interesting as we've never had dried pineapple before. It was almost like a tempura pineapple. Not sure, but to me it tasted a bit salty? Maybe it was the batter (same as what they use for the fish?). You can view the cooking area from the seating area which is neat. Hip place for sure. Our waitress was very helpful and super sweet. The owners were in the restaurant, one was helping in the front, Tanya. Her husband was cooking in the back. So nice to have the owners there. The fish is pretty good. The batter is nice, but kinda stingy with the fish size it's pretty thin for what it costs. Their coleslaw is very crunchy, not too oily and I get it every time I stop in. Very nice medium sized place. Got the burger and fries with gravy which were very yummy! My friend got the shrimp and chips which were also very good. If you go here you CANNOT skip the deep fries mars bar... Seriously it is the yummiest dessert The waitress, Lucy was very sweet, fast and always making sure we were happy with our food and always refilling our waters.
