    Branzino
    Gabriela Z.

Food was overall good. The branzino was cooked well--super flaky and flavorful. The catfish batter was a little bland, but the blackened shrimp were good. The tuna tartare was delicious with a hint of spice, and the crab bisque was really good too. Service is always just alright since the servers seem to be covering tables and the bar at the same time. The vibe is great though--perfect spot to hang out and watch Sunday night football.

Another excellent experience at Fish City Grill! Tammy and I arrived early for supper, and we were seated quickly. The restaurant is tastefully decorated in a seafood theme with a nice open floor plan. Our server was friendly and attentive and very prompt with all our dining needs. We started with their fried calamari, which was served with two dipping sauces. Served hot and delicious. For entrees, Tammy had The Omega Bowl with Grilled Salmon and I had the Grilled Branzino. You can refer to the picture for details of our entrees. Both were served hot and well prepared. I also had their excellent selection of East Coast oysters. All were fresh and ice cold. The Mystic Mermaid oysters were the best: nicely salty and briny. We're definitely looking forward to returning! Also, plan to arrive at happy hour for discounted prices!

Seated quickly on a Sunday afternoon. Not very busy end of November. Had music in the background, some new music that is different. Food came out quickly and hot. The gumbo is good. The Calamari was excellent. I really liked the Thai sriracha sauce because it was not real spicy but just enough. Had water with it and cost less than $20. Aransa, my waitress was awesome. Give her a raise. Great place if you like seafood and they do have other options.

Fish and chips, soggy and falling apart on the underside.

Overall pretty disappointing outing.......recent trip here was in mid-afternoon for an early dinner. Restaurant was pretty empty, so our orders were taken quickly. Ordered the calamari, which was cooked very well and tasted good. My wife had the flounder, which was served with some weird butter substance that was cold and not melted on her fish. I had the fish and chips, which were very soggy on the underside and the fries were undercooked. Once our food arrived, our server was nowhere to be found to request a re-fire of the fries. Overall, not a very impressive experience.......

I cannot recommend my plate of the Chilean sea bass and the cheese dip enough!! Everything was perfection!!

Let me be honest, if I would have left this review after my first two visits this place would have been 5 stars. I was so impressed with their seafood menu selection, great service, and their smart marketing with the free sample platter they bring out and their return coupon they give you at the end of your meal. However, all that has changed now when they redid their menu, got rid of samples and coupons, and unfortuantely the service went downhill too. Our last two visits were pretty awful and it bummed us out b/c I was recommending Fish City Grill to everyone after out great first visits. But now I do not think we will be back. Their new menu is missing quite a few of the items we loved including grilled oysters, cobb salad, and jalapeno soup. They also got rid of the GENIUS idea to have a "Welcome Wagon" free sample platter that they bring out to new guests featuring their soups and oysters. They also used to offer you a 20% off return coupon after your 1st visit and apparently they do not offer that anymore either. The daily samples seem to be the best menu items now. My husband had the swordfish and the flounder (i think) on our first two visits and absolutely loved it. I also have tried the shrimp and grits which was great and my whole family likes the gumbo. Like I said we loved the grilled oysters when we orignally came and were so happy to find good ones here in AR and now they are off the menu! They have a signature appetizer which is oyster nachos and I just am not impressed. They are individual chips topped with a fried oyster and completely covered with too much pico. The oyster is good but the chip falls apart and the pico is too much. I have also had the lobster grilled cheese which was ok but the super smoky bacon was overwhelming on the sandwich and took over the flavor of the lobster. Our last visit the service was rushed, not friendly, and not anything like the great servers we had previously. Also the restaurant was having venting issues and was literally full of smoke, so much that we almost had to leave with my husband's asthma. Overall, it was just a disappointing last visit and new menu overall. They went from 5 stars to 3....and lost a family of new customers.

    Chocolate addiction

This place was delicious and our waiter was very nice. My favorite part was the rice. It was surprisingly so good. The chocolate addiction was also a personal favorite. My only complaint is that it is way too smoky in there. When I left, my eyes were red from the amount of smoke and I was struggling to breathe. If you have asthma, I'd sit outside.

Excellent and beautifully presented cocktails, variety of seafood, fish, and food to choose from. Timothy was our waiter who was very attentive and helpful explaining the cocktails and menu. Note: there are also specials on the huge chalkboard wall that I didn't read until after I ordered but the shrimp and crab stuffed flounder and accompanying veges were to die for. It didn't take much to suggest another craft cocktail as they were delicious!

Great recommendations and when the special we ordered was sold out we were able to change the fish for the same prep. Started with a blueberry margarita, which was tart but excellent. I like grapefruit (I peel it like an Orange and eat the wedges without sugar) so right up my alley. Even my wife (who doesn't like grapefruit) loved this drink. Had the Ceviche app. Really good. I am kind of a ceviche expert (have been eating it and a similar food called kelaguin all over the world) and this may be the best we have had in the States. We shared the lobster ravioli and a pecan crusted red snapper (the monkfish was sold out) and both were great. Ravioli was exceptional. Three pieces, shrimp and perfect sauce. Lots of lobster in the filling. The snapper which again was the substitute for the monkfish was light with a more subtle flavor but was served with really good mashed potatoes and broccoli. Unfortunately the ravioli came out first (had to change the fish so slight delay) so the strength of the ravioli flavor would have been better as the second shared entree due to the subtleness of the pecan crusted snapper. But really that is not a complaint. Tight rooms, packed with tables and people. Even so not too loud to have a conversation and everyone was super nice. We will eat here again next time we visit.

The presentation of the rolls was horrible--looked like it was made on an assembly line without any care for what made it onto each individual piece of the roll. The rolls also just weren't made well and many of the pieces fell apart after attempting to pick them up. Worst part of the whole thing was the embarrassing attempt to have lemon be apart of the rolls. The lemon slices were big and non-uniform--they looked like they belonged slotted on the rim of a glass of water not on a sushi roll. Instead of providing a nice hint of tartness, the lemon just overpowered any other flavor. Beyond that, they were just carelessly strewn across the top of the roll, so the coverage for individual pieces was laughable. Horrible experience. Up until this time, I would have been recommending Blu over Junto, but now I'm not even sure it ranks higher than Sushi House. Don't plan to be back anytime soon.

It's a trash restaurant charging 5 star dining prices. They won't even plate a porterhouse steak onto two plates if you ask. Told us we needed to do it ourselves. She laughed at us and said 'he's not going to do that,' referring to the chef. All the other restaurants that serve a porterhouse do that standard because it's a massive steak that two people share, and they offer before you have to ask. Just snobby and weird attitude about certain things. They also serve a cheap version of Caymus wine, but have it priced like it's the premium version (my friend knows wine). 3.5 hours is too long to wait for a meal, especially on a weeknight when the restaurant is empty. They also didn't apologize, acted like this was completely normal, and said 'we didn't know you were in a hurry.' Really? Pay the same price and pick a legitimate high end restaurant like Sestina, Conifer, Junto, Ruth Chris, or Atlas. This place is a joke and I still get mad when I drive by. No idea how they stay in business except maybe for tourists who don't know how bad this place is until they've wasted their time and money. We need better restaurants in this area.

AMBIANCE Simple and unpretentious with a lot of (you guessed it) fishing-related and coastal decor. There's a dining patio of sorts when you first enter with a fan and more lighting, but you can walk in further for more air-conditioned seating. We walked in one evening craving a no-frills solid seafood spot and we found it here. You walk in and there's a huge menu billboard and order at the counter, pay, and you get a buzzer and can find a table anywhere! SERVICE Efficient and straightforward...we ordered and within 10 minutes our buzzer rang and we picked up our food on a tray and brought it back. FOOD This is where it delivers! The seafood tastes fresh, seasoned well, and cooked without being overcomplicated. We ordered the grilled plate with rainbow trout that was served with beans, rice, and grilled zucchini and squash vegetables. Loved the grill marks and thought it was very simple, balanced, and cooked just right. We also tried the fried catfish fillet and shrimp with fries and hushpuppies, which came out hot and crispy without feeling greasy or overbreaded. Tasted great with the tartar sauce. We felt the portions were solid for the price and everything feels consistent. We'd heard great things about the key lime pie on here... and it absolutely lived up to it. The slice was generous for the price, and the flavor of the key lime pie filling delivered. It was bright, creamy, and just the right amount of tangy without being too much sweetness. And the crust? Exactly how it should be. You know the kind that crumbles apart...or turns into a rock-hard dense layer you fight through with your fork? Not this one! This one held together but still gave easily with each bite, so you actually get that perfect balance of filling and graham crust every time. I didn't expect to say this but goodness this is the $7.95 pie that gets it right....and if I could buy it as a birthday cake, I would! Definitely would come back to try any of the other seafood plates on the menu *and* more key lime pie! :)

The birthday girl ordered crab legs with the lemon pepper sauce: mild. Very soon after she started eating, she noticed that the sauce was not mild. She found it to be very spicy. After awhile, she told the waitress it was too spicy, and she asked for melted butter so she could add it to the sauce and make it less spicy. But it was still too spicy. Then we called the waitress over and told her it was still too spicy. Instead of taking it back and giving my friend a new order, the waitress kept defending it, as if her talking about it being mild would make it mild and thereby change my friend's experience of it being too spicy. The waitress brought my friend another bowl of butter, but by that time, my friend was no longer enchanted with the meal. As we continued eating, all the staff were clattering around, making a racket, moving chairs and even mopping up the floor with a disgusting pan and mop while we were still in the midst of eating. This spoiled my friend's birthday. She said that she would not ever come back to this restaurant. My experience of the food was great. I asked for moderate spice and I liked the flavor and the spiciness. But I was not impressed by the staff. They should have taken my friend's food back and given her a fresh, unspicey meal.
