The food here was actually delicious, which you would think would be all that counts, but it's not. The timing of this meal was terrible. Everything came out in less than 10 minutes, all at once. Our appetizer was the last thing to arrive at the table. Even though the food was really good, I'll be honest it kind of spoiled the experience for me. I felt rushed and did not enjoy my meal nearly as much as I would have had the pacing been appropriate. They get four stars because I brought this to their attention and they addressed it, but they will be a five star meal experience if they can get this under control. read more

Had an excellent meal on our first visit here. We had the shrimp pooboy, shrimp and grits, and my favorite the special (yellow fin tuna mango street tacos). We have enjoyed these types of seafood dishes all over the country. These were an excellent execution especially for NW Arkansas. A little pricy but worth it. This place was amazing and the food couldn't have been more perfect. I started with a cup of the Gumbo, wishing I'd asked for a bowl. It was heart, a lot of sausage, shrimp and chicken and a little kick. My main course was bacon wrapped shrimp and scallops over a spinach risotto. Mouth watering and incredibly affordable. Came in for a bite with a buddy from work and we ordered a couple of the dinners from "off the wall". He got salmon and I got thresher shark. We both enjoyed our entrees and appreciated the recommendation from our server Connor. We were both first time visitors so they welcomed us with 2 grilled oyster appetizers that were delicious. They also brought a soup sampler and the crab bisque tasted great so I got a cup! They always have lunch and dinner specials that are little different than what's on the menu so it's fun to see what is available when you are there. Today I had the Salmon Bowl - not normally on the menu, but a very fresh piece of grilled salmon over rice, with sliced avocado on the side. Perfect for lunch. Two stars is for the service. Walked in, it was not too busy, sat us down quickly. Ask the hostess if was still happy hour, she replied YES, you have about 20 minutes. We were excited because we read the margaritas were pretty good from the happy hour. When our rude waitress arrived , she rudely said NO, the Hostess doesn't know what she is talking about. Happy hour ended at 6! We went on to order water and my hubby a sweet tea. Tea comes, it's not sweet. He mentioned it to our waitress, she days..,"we don't have sweet tea! " Only unsweet. Think you could of mention that??? I ordered fish tacos on corn tortillas with some of the sauce that come with the hush puppies. I thought it was great! Good family restaurant, always good specials on the chalkboard and website. We always order the special and get the key lime pie for dessert. They have a separate gluten free menu if you ask. Just don't order the crawfish if you're from the Gulf--its boiled first then seasoned after so doesn't taste right at all. read more

Fish city girl is one of my favorite go to happy hour spots! They have $1 oysters in Friday's from 2-6 along with a great happy hour menu-- may vary depending on season and time of year. Greetings at the door are always pleasant, the service sometimes takes a while, but please understand it is a very busy and fairly decent a big restaurant. The oysters are a MUST have. Then we had to witness what appeared to be the owner yelling and berating his staff to the point we were concerned it was a domestic incident until we noticed the staff all looking uncomfortable but not reacting. He even made one server visibly cry. Very upsetting end to our lunch. It was a quiet day in restaurant but everyone dining was looking. I started out liking this place and the food was good, however, by the end of the evening, we were disappointed in the service we received from Shelby which is reflective in the 3 star rating. We were seated on the far side of the bar so my in-laws could not read the specials board from where we were sitting. When we asked Shelby what the specials of the evening were, we fully expected she knew them by heart or at least had them written down on a notepad in her pocket. Instead, she kept reading the board and looking back at us with a look on her face that suggested we could have gone up and read the board ourselves. Maybe this is not that type of establishment where they expect the staff to know the specials, but even if not, the attitude was not necessary. We ordered the crab stuffed mushrooms that were just ok, however the fish and chips and crab bisque were delicious. After we were served our mains, Shelby never checked on us again nor did she clear any plates. My father in-law was still consuming his meal and amidst a table full of dirty plates, Shelby appeared and just dropped the check off and left. Although I have never been a waitress, I dine all over the world and one of the cardinal rules of serving is that you NEVER drop of the check before asking the patrons if they would like anything else. Not only is it rude, but the more the patrons order, usually the higher your tip will be. We were prepared to order dessert, but after receiving our check we decided against it and her lack of a significant tip reflected the service we received. read more

The service was amazing !!! , but the food was such a disappointment . My bf spent 45$ here , and we didn't even eat hardly any of it ! The shrimp tasted like it was washed in chlorine and had just came out of the ocean , the fish had no taste no seasoning it tasted like water with batter . I was excited to try the gumbo since all the reviews I read about it were good , but if you've ever had real gumbo this one wouldn't suffice !! I have made catfish at home that has had way more flavor than the ones they serve here!! very over priced 6$ for one piece of tilapia .
