First time in, super jazzed to have a good sushi option in Rogers. Fantastic bar, including wine list, sake, and specialty cocktails. The servers are super busy, but you still get very sufficient service and very personalized to their regulars, so they are working really hard at that My only regret is that I was short on time and the server did not offer up the daily specials before I ordered. Next time I will know to ask. I ordered one of the specialty rolls which included spicy tuna and softshell crab inside with salmon and yellow tail on the outside top with Yuzu and tempura jalapeño. The freshness and quality of ingredients was obvious, although the softshell crab was really small. I think they did a very nice job with the sushi menu and offering some fun takes on rolls etc. with without going the route some other locals do with everything heavy on tempura or cream cheese (shudder), or frying the entire roll. Overall, super enjoyable visit, and will come back for more items and a shot at that five star review! read more

Sushi was great, we shared the Whipple roll and the DTR roll. Both were delicious, but honestly hard to differentiate between the two. We started with the poké lettuce wraps. The fish was fresh and delicious, but I would have preferred it to be marinated in soy/ponzu as I added some soy for more flavor. We went for weekday lunch and although there were only 4 other tables service lacked. I asked for a fork 3 times before getting one and we had empty water glasses multiple times. read more

Location is a short walk from the playground with the train tracks and seems to be an old fire department which is cool. The server was nice. The drinks I got were good (blueberry sake cocktail and pineapple sake cocktail). We ordered the blue fin crispy rice which came promptly, as did a last minute order of edamame. Both tasted fine. The rice was not too chewy or too hard which is nice. HOWEVER, it took a full HOUR to get our actual order which consisted of filet minon udon (they ran out of sea bass... we got there at 5pm on Friday) and a chirashi bowl. I saw people who came in after us LEAVE before we finally got our food! We came in early because we have a toddler and if you have one you know there is a specific window of time they can sit still for. The food was ok. It's similar to the other sushi places I've been to in the area. The long wait for food with no explanation or apology left a bad taste and we will not be going again. read more

My sister and I visited recently for lunch when I was in town. The food was outstanding and we loved the relaxing atmosphere. We had the BEST service. In fact, we felt awful when we realized they closed at 2 and overstayed our lunch by 15 minutes. Kudos to our sweet server who never said a word! Love the food, service was great, but we had an experience where we will never, I guess can never, go back. I've eaten at Blue DTR a few times and the food is incredible. Last night I had dinner there with two friends. After we finished our great meal, we were just enjoying the vibe and the music. A very drunk guy kept walking by our table, gawking at the woman I was with. I know he was drunk because he kept stumbling as he walked by. He was wearing a Blue DTR hat and was either an employee, or perhaps the owner (more on that later). Uninvited he decided to sit down at our table which was uncomfortable given how drunk he was. He was slurring and losing focus. He started the conversation asking about the ethnicity of my two friends (Indian and Mexican) and as he talked, kept touching my female friend on the arm. He escalated the behavior and at one point, lifted up her dress for a reason that escaped us all. At that point, I asked him to watch it. I asked him to watch his behavior and stop lifting up her dress. He immediately became aggressive and said that he hadn't lifted her dress. He then got up, talked to the waiter and started yelling at us to leave. He kicked us out, and not wanting to make a further scene, we started to leave. As we were leaving he was yelling that we could never come back, we were kicked out forever. I assume he was an employee or the owner given the hat he was wearing and the fact that nobody said anything in our defense as he was kicking us out. He was clearly drunk, aggressive and we just wanted to leave before it got physical. If you are the owner, the individual, or perhaps his wife, there was a security camera behind the bar that seemed to be pointed our way all night. I suggest that you check the recording. You will see him sit down uninvited, repeatedly touch my female friend and then grab her dress to lift it up. I calmly asked him to watch his behavior and then he freaked out. I hope he has sobered up, reflects on his behavior, and decides to be better. He owes my friend an apology. Sorry to miss out on the great food, but what you allowed to happen is unacceptable. read more

Went in for weekday lunch, took an hour and a half to get our food (there was only one sushi chef staffed, but also few tables so it didn't look busy at all upon arrival) Ordered 8 piece sashimi, received a 6 piece nigiri, server walked away before I could say anything. I overheard server and chef looking at tickets and talking about orders/mix ups so I did not touch the nigiri, assuming it was meant for another table and accidentally brought to us. After they finished talking I flagged down the waitress and said "was this nigiri brought to the wrong table?" And she says "no, this is your 8 piece sashimi." We can both clearly see the plate, which holds 6 pieces of nigiri, so I politely say "I'm pretty sure this is nigiri, which is totally fine, I just wanted to make sure another table wasn't missing it" she grabs it and walks away before I can finish saying I would be fine just having that instead of the sashimi I ordered, it truly wasn't a big issue. She brings nigiri to chef "what was wrong with the nigiri?!" I hear her say, they talk about order mix up etc, then chef says to one of the bar seated couples "do you guys like nigiri? I accidentally made this plate, you can have it" which, again, is fine, it's not like it was our food anyways, but we were hungry and totally would have just kept the nigiri if offered. We had been there about an hour at this point, server brings over sashimi plate a few minutes later. 20 minutes after that we receive our rolls. The rainbow roll is meant to be made of snow crab, cucumber, avocado with assorted fish on top. I notice that they used crab stick in the roll, so I asked the waitress if they usually have crab stick in the rainbow roll. She tells me they added salmon into the roll for my inconvenience with the sashimi earlier.... I look at the crab stick and say "I am pretty sure this is crab stick, not salmon" and she looks at it and says "hmmm I don't know why that would be in there, sorry chef is very busy do you need it remade or can we do something else?" I said I understand she's busy so if they could just discount the rainbow roll or something that would be fine, I didn't want to wait for a whole new roll. So this waitress has now twice told me that I am mistaken about what was right in front of both of our eyes and I have had to kindly restate what we could both see multiple times, I was feeling pretty frustrated that they tried to play off crab stick as salmon and said they added it in on my behalf as something extra for my inconvenience, like just admit the mistake and fix it instead of gaslighting me? Anyways, we ate the food, got the bill, $5 was taken off for the rainbow roll. Whatever, paid it and left. Just left a poor taste in my mouth about how situation was handled. Hopefully today was just a bad day for them. read more

Unexpectedly good! My friend from Rogers tipped us off to this little place while we were visiting Crystal Bridges. The DTR Roll with crispy little jalapeño chips on top was way better than expected. I like hot but think that jalapeños are overrated and really don't have any flavor other than mediocre hot. But these were good. The nigiri was fresh and tasty. Try it! read more

Make sure to make a reservation ahead of time or you will be waiting for a table. The space inside is super small and cozy so if you want some elbow room, ask for a table on the patio. Because it is so small, the staff is right there whenever you need a refill or want to order. It does take a little while for the rolls to come out, but the apps typically hit the table pretty quickly. All of the rolls are delicious but my sleeper favorite item was the edamame with soy & garlic. Do not skip, best app on the menu. read more
