This place will close for the winter presently is the bomb! One of the only casual seafood restaurants with actual fresh seafood on the island. They offer a wide variety of seafood, prepared how ever you like it. My daughter loves their cheese curds (the owners are from Wisconsin)! Fantastic atmosphere with an open air feel even while sitting indoors. Food is freshly made to order. Did late lunch here twice while visiting Emerald Isle for the week. First visit, shrimp tacos and beans as the side. Huge shrimp, lightly battered and fried. The beans were a combination of black & navy. Second visit, fish bites (grouper I think) and fried shrimp. All of it is delicious with generous servings. They even have Poutine on the menu. Not to my liking. Not a fan of gravy on my fries. But the cheese curds were so good we ordered a tray of them. Friendly service with offers to explain anything listed on the menu. Definitely on the list when I return to Emerald Isle. read more

Let me start off by saying there severely overpriced for what you receive presentation and all I've been here three times given the multiple chances however they have some very good chicken wings no sauce or glaze on them but they are good chicken wings and the chicken wings are consistent because the three times I've eaten there the fish was not very good but the wings were maybe it should be called the chicken hut LOL read more

The Fish Hut Grill is quickly becoming one of our favorite spots to eat on the island. First - their seafood is FRESH and LOCAL. There are not many places on the island that serve local seafood. We had the grilled shrimp tacos and fried shrimp our first time. Both were great! The next visit we had the whole fried fish (snapper) with a side of cheese curds and the fish bites with a side of cucumber and tomato salad. Everything was so tasty! The open-air concept is cool and you can grab beers out of the cooler (self-serve), keeping up with what you drink and then pay at the end. It's nice to see a place like this in EI! read more

The food is so tasty at the Fish Hut Grill that we keep coming back despite the wait time. Most of the time the line out the door goes pretty quickly, and they do take drink orders while you wait in line, so you can sip on your drinks while you wait. The staff are courteous and do a good job with the tables. I highly recommend it. read more

Drinks are flowing from the start of the line, until you desire to stop. Assure a DD or Uber. Fried whole fish is STELLAR!! Honestly it this is the biggest disappointment since the nba finals. The wings were small and had more fat on them than meat. The dry rubs they had might as well been the dirt from their shoes. There was no combos or meal deals either. Beyond OVER priced. $2.50 for a soft drink!?! Am I joke to you? Along with being hot and humid inside. Just plain sad experience over all. Great casual lunch spot. I like how they had coolers with beer and hard seltzer drinks. Nothing fancy. When we visited, all the doors were open and there was a light breeze. I had the peel and eat shrimp and my husband had a crab cake sandwich with fries. Good stuff! read more

Seriously delicious and my interaction with several staff was attentive and chill. I'm really happy I took a chance on this new restaurant. Food was very fresh and fully satisfying that I went back the very next day. You will not be disappointed with the whole fish. First visit, I had the flounder and I can't remember the last time I had an entire flounder. So good I sat and picked all the meat off the bones. My wife had the fried shrimp and first thing she noticed was the freshness (no fishy taste whatsoever) straight shrimp flavor. Portions are good sized and not at all skimpy. If one isn't a fan of fish, the burger, grilled chicken and chicken tenders are very good options, which some in our party decided on. Next day I ordered the Tuna done med and it was very fresh and I could tell that the cut was picked well from the fish market. Another big order of fried shrimp and a burger all as a mid-afternoon snack to-go for the beach. Oh the staff that helped me the previous night remembered my name even though she the restaurant was busy. While waiting for the take out, I spoke with the operator and we engaged in a very pleasant conversation. I can sense where the style and setting of the restaurant came from as the operator had a very positive energy and legit vibe.
