At the end of that appt they charged us $322 and told us it would be another $665 at the time of neuter. That is ridiculous they don't give a fee estimate up front. I was able to call Stone Ridge Veterinary clinic and they quoted MUCH less and they were able to quote an estimate BEFORE making me pay a dime. I realize the cost might change a little after they see him, but I doubt it will be over $900. They did allow us to cancel the bloodwork but we still had to pay $68 for an "exam" to be told the total neuter package would be over $900. Bad business and we told them we would be taking all our dogs to a different vet. They were indifferent.

6.25.2026 We took Ethel our cat to Mapleton Family Pet Clinic to have her teeth cleaned and since…read moreshe would be under anesthesia we requested that they also clean her ears. According to the vet office everything went just fine and we could pick her up. We did this and figured she was still groggy from the anesthesia as she was so floppy and didn't seem right. Took her home and realized something was not right. Each eye was either flipping side ways and going around in circles. And she couldn't hold up her head or stand or walk. We called the various numbers published by them to tell them something was very wrong and and request help, each email or phone message had a response of "we will get right back to you." Called again and left messages the next morning (a Saturday) and again "we will get right back to you". Ethel had not gotten better through the night and still couldn't stand, or support her neck (eat or drink). Again after leaving numerous messages and forms of contact from what we could find for them and still nothing. We ended up taking her to the Payson Family Pet Hospital. She was examined and given an IV because she was dehydrated etc. the examination found that one of her ear drums had been punctured and infection had gone into her inner ear causing her to have severe vertigo and a condition called "Vestibular Syndrome". Ethel was given a shot to help with the infection etc. Over all Ethel was well cared for and the vet was very knowledgeable and empathetic. Monday I received a telephone call from Mapleton Pet Clinic saying they received my message and did we want to bring Ethel in. I kind of laughed and said oh, I thought you were maybe calling back to give a refund etc. and NO we would never return or trust them with an animal we cared about, explaining how sick she is and has been all weekend and thanked them and that was it. Never any further communication, apology nothing. All we were left with is a crazy expensive bill from them and now bills to another vet trying to treat what Mapleton Family pet did to our initially healthy cat. I believe we are now 6weeks since they hurt her and she still isn't not well, better yes but not back to being healthy. I caution you with taking any animal to Mapleton Family Pet and if you have an issue after a surgery know that they no longer care for animals or check messages etc. after 5pm or on weekend's.

I must say it was a coin toss getting her online vs buying a dog at a nearby breeder where I could meet the parents. She will be a standard size bernedoodle and we fell in love with her perfect color pattern on the images and one short video that was uploaded onto her folder in google drive. I'm glad to report that upon taking her to the vet when we received her all was found healthy. I also went on to do an embark test on her to see if it was true she came from healthy parents and if she actually was a full bernedoodle! The results were great! 50-50% of each standard size. she also came clear of any bad breed related genes of health issues she could get on the future! She only inherited 1 of all the other 200 and something genes that are tested in all dog breeds and it's nothing bad to worry about and she only has one. I did find one of her brothers from another litter got matched with her, contemplating on reaching out to them. And a lot of aunts and uncles on her Bernese mountain dog side of the family. I will though encourage my doodle crush to upscale your promotion of your puppies so it won't look too iffy. Add more pictures of the dogs with their mom and dad or a couple of videos in the stories or the folder u share, not just one or 3 fotos. I never did get my pic of her with her mom as I requested as a keepsake lol since I didn't meet the mom in person. That would of been nice! I really came to consider it could have been a scam! I also like how they don't force you into a contract to get them spayed or neutered and leave it up to you to do it whenever u feel the moment is right. Thankful I went with my gut on her! It had bloody stools the first three bowel movements at home. I immediately took her to the emergency vet and spent hundreds of dollars for testing to discover she was very sick. I spent at lot of time and money the first three weeks getting her well. I repeatedly Contacted Jill and Ryan about getting monetary help for the veterinary bills. Its hard to believe that no one knew she was so sick. Who sells a dog with serious health issues and tries to pass it off as nothing? Over and over they stalled me and finally stopped replying to me. I'm very disappointed in their behaviors as caring responsible breeders. I was not an educated buyer and paid the price. Please consider my experience as no faith at all for them to be accountable for their poorly raised puppies. Buyer beware!

I came in with my Australian Shepherd and just wanted a wash and her nails trimmed since they were scratching everyone and everything and she smelled like rotten fish. I just didn't want to wash her myself. I was asked if I wanted a cut and I told her maybe just a little trim around the butt because it was getting long and going potty was starting to be a mess. She asked if I wanted anything on the face and I said maybe a tiny bit but I liked how fluffy she was (one of the main reasons I chose an Aussie) and didn't want that to change. I was shocked when I picked her up because she was shaved very short, and horribly too. I think it's great the woman who serviced my dog is trying her best at English but even with a small language barrier, "trim" should not have been misinterpreted to "shave" for a groomer that claims to have been doing this for a long time. Trim and shave are two completely different things. I didn't say anything when I picked her up because I was in shock and was fighting back tears because my once incredibly fluffy dog was shaved and looked like a rat. I didn't have it in me to fight about what I had wanted and what I got. I paid (it was done and couldn't be reversed) and went home and cried for hours. Australian Shepherds have a double coat. If you google double coats, almost every result will highly advise that you DO NOT shave this type of fur unless it is matted beyond repair because overly matter fur causes more harm than shaving it does. She is a 5 month puppy and I brush her at least once a week, so she was not matted at all. Here are the many reasons NOT to shave double coats It changes the coat texture- my dog used to be super soft and not even a full week later her hair turned course and stiff, making it much less enjoyable to pet and cuddle with her. It will mess with their natural cooling and heating process It can irritate the skin- she has been scratching herself constantly since I picked her up. It is more likely that the hair will matt in the future It is not guaranteed that it will grow back, and if it does it will not grow back the same or evenly -since she is a puppy it is more likely it will grow back, but there is no guarantee. It could grow in patchy which makes it more likely I will have to continually shave her, or it might not grow back at all. It doesn't reduce shedding, it just changes the length of hair that is shed. Can cause hair loss and skin conditions- I don't know if it was the products used or if it is the fact that she got shaved but she has dandruff now. There also were two bald patches and they have increased in size since I brought her home. Increases the risk of sickness and skin cancer. Most groomers refuse to shave double coated dogs even upon request, and I didn't even ask them to do it. Had I known this business liked to shave, I would have gone somewhere else. All I wanted was a wash and trimmed nails, so I just went to the first place available and in my case it was a mistake. Not only was she shaved without my permission or request, but she was shaved horribly. People are politely judging me say she is still cute but when I tell them it was unwanted they immediately say that it looks like the person didn't know what they were doing and that its a hack job. I have found two bald spots which are increasing in size, it's uneven in multiple places, and there are chunks missing all over. I did go back in a few days later and they did refund my money. She told me she has been doing this for many years and worked with almost every type of breed, but I honestly have a hard time believing that in this situation. A well versed groomer wouldn't shave this type of dog without asking clearly if that's what I wanted, or just based on a trim around the butt being requested. I am grateful I got my money back, but I am far from happy with my service. I am even more upset about the customer service I have experienced. 8 hours after I went in for a refund, they sent me a condescending private message telling me they didn't see anything wrong with my dog and they were wondering why I hadn't removed my review already. 8 HOURS after I went in. I am a busy person and while I planned on adding that I had been refunded at some point, 8 hours is not a courteous time, and just because I was refunded does not change that was shaved without me asking. She also has been commenting false claims about our interactions on my Facebook review and playing the victim. Maybe they enjoy their dogs with the teddy bear cut but they should not impose what they think dogs should look like on their customers and then tell them they are wrong when it's not what they wanted, and IS a choppy cut.
