Took my hubby and parents to try since it's been on the list since last year and they all 3 enjoyed their fish and chips. Good flavor and seasoning in the breading. Not sure if it's worth $20 but they were happy they got to try it.

Very relaxed atmosphere and staff were friendly and helpful. I'm gonna have to go 3 stars. It was good fish and chips. The tartar sauce was different than anything I had tasted before, but I guess I prefer more traditional tartar sauce. There was a lot of separation from the skin and the fish too. The skin was wonderfully crispy though, as were the Don't get me wrong, it was all good, but it was just good. Another factor for me and the rating is the price for what you get. $23 for fish and chips and a drink is just a little too much for the amount of food that is provided. 3*** = Good but no separation from similar restaurants 4**** = Set themselves a part with quality food and I want to go back. 5*****= You have to go out of your way and make a special trip to try the deliciousness that is there!

Great food!!! Great service. Fun location. For what they are attempting to do at this location they nailed it. The fish fillets were meaty, not overly battered/breaded and not greasy. I will eat here again.

Located inside the food hall, fish pop had delicious perfectly crisp fried fish! We got the spicy fish but it didn't have much heat. I loved the tartar sauce and perfectly crispy batter. The fish was nice and moist inside and the peas were also perfectly mushy. Definitely recommend coming here to check it out!

I'm mad I don't have better pictures! The ambiance is like a mall food court the fish is delicious and crisp even air fried the next day fries included. The service is takeout style friendly but nothing personable does have vinegar if you like it like me. I had the spicy fish generous portion but is greasy for those who have sensitive stomachs like myself but too good to not eat a couple bites. Would eat here again. Like the peas as a nice touch note my image is next day reheated still tasty

Stopped by Fish Pop inside Tempe Eats after a workout at 24 Hour Fitness. I actually found it through an Instagram ad, and I'm glad I did! Teresa was super welcoming and suggested I try one of their draft beers I didn't this time, but now I've got another reason to come back. Tempe Eats is set up kind of like little pods or stations, with different restaurants tucked inside. It's easy to miss from the outside, especially if you're searching by restaurant name instead of the Tempe Eats sign but once you find it, it's super cute inside. I ordered The OG fish and chips the fish was crispy perfection, and the fries were really solid too. As a foodie, I can't give it a full five stars though because the sides fell short. The coleslaw was definitely original... just not my favorite, and the peas didn't do much for me either. Still, the fish? The fries? Worth the visit for sure.

Well we got suckered to make the drive from Gilbert to check this place out off of TikTok and let me say--it was a slight disappointment. As a whole for Tempe Eats--it's an interesting concept especially nestled in a college neighborhood but it was disappointing. We came out on a Sunday and it was slow. Maybe a handful of people. The service was extremely slow. We came for the seemingly incredible fish N chips and beers on tap from the video we seen--welp the tap was all down and out of order. Very disappointing. The video made it seem bigger--it's not but also not working. I got the spicy fish--really good. Had some flavor. Not hot at all. The fries and fish were very crispy which I loved. The fiancé got the standard fish and chips--he rated his meal a 5/10 because the fish didn't have any flavor. He said the best part of his meal were his fries. We are both intended to have some drinks and since the tap was out--we would have ordered cocktails but the menu gave us college student selection. We won't be back but we can say we tried it?

I happened to catch fish pop in their DT Phoenix location on McDowell. As you walk into the restaurant the pop up area is right there, can't miss it. The restaurant was closed, the fish pop people are the only ones there during the day. So Fish Pop is an off shoot of the Chix Pop restaurant, and all they make is fish n chips. You can get it with spicier seasoning ( wasn't spicy to me, it had a Cajun flavor) or plain. This was made perfect imo, breading was seasoned just right and the fish wasn't overcooked at all. I left there wanting more!!!! The fish of course also came with fries. Came out to be $20 ish, FYI. If I had one suggestion it would be to have some hot sauce available for those who need the heat. They also are at the location in Tempe as well. Go go go! Thanks.

Finally got to try Fish Pop after hearing about it for sometime! We went in on a weekday and luckily it wasn't busy so we didn't have a long wait. We ordered the original fish and the spicy butter fish. I will say it's a bit pricey. The original is about $20 and the spicy is about $22. With tip, we ended up paying $50. I will say though, they give you a big piece of fish! It was crunchy, fish was flaky, and was steaming hot. The original is good. The spicy butter seasoning tasted sort of like a mix of Cajun and a tiny bit of sweet barbecue, and I liked it! Fries were also good. Maybe a little soggy since the fish was sitting on top of the fries, but I don't mind slightly soggy fries. Each dish was also served with a little side of peas and their sauce (which was amazing! I ate the entire container lol). I think it's worth a try at least once. I believe they are only at the Tempe Eats location until August, so best to try it now before they're gone!

    The fresh dill is superb.

"Finally finally finally got to go to @fishpop.la in k town yesterday. Trained by Michelin star chefs, Joon takes on fish and chips and my god does he do it!!!" ― Chrissy Teigen, April 2, 2021 I've been wanting to come in here after seeing Chrissy Teigen take two giant chomps out of their fried cod on Instagram. $20 for Original, $22 for Spicy Butter. I ended up getting both. The tartar sauce that accompanies the fish is flavorful and creamy and the mushy peas made for a nice refreshing bite after your mouth gets coated in oil. As for the fish... Mama Mia! Crispy, flaky, and moist! The Spicy Butter cod did have a soggier coating from the butter, I assume, and I didn't taste too much of a difference in terms of flavor compared to the Original if I were honest. Nonetheless, I enjoyed every bite. I've been flip-flopping between 4 or 5 stars but ultimately, I'm choosing five-stars because I can't stop thinking about butter and dill. Mmm! Support Asian-owned businesses. Support Chef Joon!

The line here was about 10 people deep when we arrived last night for dinner and we waited about 25 minutes before we could order. We didn't know that they only accepted Zelle, Venmo, and or cash so it took us some time to provide proof of payment at the register since we were going to use Zelle and Venmo. I'm assuming this is probably why the wait in line tends to be long since placing your order is actually super quick. It was pretty busy so it was a challenge finding a table. We sat outside first but then migrated inside when we saw a table open up. Our orders took about 15 minutes and our numbers were called out when ready. We had ordered: Two spicy butters ($22 each) Two originals ($20 each) I was able to sample both and I would go with the original one if I had to choose. The spicy butter one had too much Cajun seasoning for my liking. The batter was super thick on both and I found it to be overwhelming as it was oily. I could barely see or taste the fish as the outside was too thick..... The french fries were delicious though and they were served hot and crispy! The employees we interacted with were super friendly!

Fresh from the sea and straight to the mouth. Popped my Fish Pop cherry today and oh what a day. Got the original ($20) and spicy butter ($22) to share. We didn't realize that the cod would come with peas but it was a nice addition. Crispy, crunchy, and just a tad bit oily. Being honest here, I didn't think the spicy butter tasted any different than the original but they definitely looked different. Both fish dishes were good regardless. They currently accept cash, Venmo, and Zelle. They're truly the gem of Tempe Eats. Get that bag, Chef Joon and Fish Pop!

I've already submitted a review on the Tempe Eats Food Hall & Bar and following up with the specific reason we were brought here...which is the pop-up called Fish Pop. We had seen a story on the local news about the chef and his pop-up experience and because we love fish & chips, we were down with visiting. Instead of ordering via the QR Code for the other restaurants making up this hall, we went directly to the window for Fish Pop. They had two things on the menu, their Fish & Chips original along with a second version they called Spicy Butter. We ordered one of each just to give both a try. As many others have already reported, we really didn't notice a spicy tone with the Spicy Butter but both fish dishes were done to perfection. Not greasy in the least, but tender white fish encased in a light batter and fried to goodness. The dish comes with their seasoned fries along with the chef's version of mushy peas. Ok, before you turn your nose up...give this guy's version a chance. OMG! They were not mushy, they were cooked perfectly with seasoning and were just so good. We could have made a meal of those peas! So we had to look up the story behind the peas being served with fish & chips and turns out that is a thing in northern England. I saw many pictures of actually mushed peas as I was researching and we both agreed that they version we had may be the best! Not sure what the seasoning is he uses, but man-oh-man...they were delicious! And the tartar sauce isn't your traditional white mayo...so much flavor and really wonderful with the fish! Overall a great experience and we'd love to have your fish & chips (and those amazing peas) again! It will be interesting to see if Fish Pop lands more permanently here in the valley. Great experience!

SENTRY - WATCHING RESTAURANTS…read more King's Fish House 35 S McClintock Drive Tempe, 85281 Good places to have a fish dinner are getting hard to find. We decided to give this one a try. Companion and I arrived at 5:45 and were seated promptly. Our server Nikki brought menus and took our drink orders. We started off with Calamari. It was perfectly cooked and came with 2 sauces that I have never had served with it before. One was MaPloi, and the other was an aioli that was nicely spicey. The portion was large and unfortunately, we couldn't finish it. Companion ordered Fish & Chips. A nice sized portion of cod, perfectly fried. Unfortunately, the chips were not fried the way companion asked for them and most of them were left on the plate. For myself, I ordered the Scallop & Shrimp Combo which came with nicely prepared brussel sprouts which were grilled and then had balsamic vinegar over them. I also ordered the char broiled zucchini, which I did not care for and left most of it on my plate. On to desserts! Desserts are prepared in house and not from the outside. Companion ordered Bread Pudding. Sliced from a loaf and served with a Jack Daniels Whiskey sauce and a ball of vanilla ice cream. Companion was so full that it was not finished but not before declaring it to be delicious. I ordered the Butter Cake. A delicious cupcake sized portion tasting deeply of butter, served with whipped cream, berries, and topped with vanilla ice cream. Once again, the portion was so big that I could only eat half of it. As one might expect in a restaurant of this caliber, it was squeaky clean. Service was efficient and almost all of the food was prepared as ordered. 5 stars

I shouldn't call it a stand, for it is large enough to seat over 70 people with their front, back and rooftop picnic style seating areas. Around 7:00 pm yesterday there were about 14 patrons ordering or enjoying their meal on a pleasant evening. After placing your order at the window, you wait for your number to be called and pick it up at the other window 10 feet away. While looking at the rectangle shaped fish patties, I thought, what should I expect from this mass made looking fish squares? To my delight, the exterior was crisp and the interior was flaky even though they weren't fillets. The fries were just average tasting but I couldn't help but think if they were served as hot as our fish they could have been better! I stopped short of Pete's sauce after trying it and thinking about taco sauce. Where's the tartar sauce or ketchup? Their double patty superburger $3.90 was tasty. The two meat patties with mustard, slivered onions, pickles and Pete's sauce on a bakery style bun was not bad at all! Overall, minced fish n chips at Pete's makes for a quick, inexpensive meal. They served Pepsi products and it's worth noting, no debit or credit cards are accepted, just cash.
